You have one of the best young left sided talents and then bought Neymar.

Who is going to start? He is surplus to requirments, in a perfect world PSG would keep him. But he can see he wont be playing.

So guess who wants out. Its not one bit surprising to me.
 
Hmmm, I thought he started well at PSG? Sure they have Neymar now but still strange to ship out a young, talented player you just bought half a year ago.
Any detailed reasons from our resident psg fans?

Neymar and Draxler are both versatile and the latter can easily compete with Di Maria for starts on the right wing. Even if Mbappé joined he would be a great bench option and certainly not "surplus to requirements".

Some tweets in my feed claim the rumours come from a translation mistake. We'll know what's true soon enough.

Hit the nail on the head mate... "bench option"

In what world do you think Draxler would just sit on the bench? He is hunting a move to get regular football.

PSG's interests and Draxler's interests are not alligned in this instance. They could of course still shift on ADM and then he'd stay most likely. But as it is, he has decided or been told or they have agreed it could be wise to see to leave. Or see if a big fish bites and if the right offer dont come they may stick it another year.

But in a WC year Draxler wants football... This is the most obvious solution.
 
He was exceptional in the Confederations Cup this summer. Showed a ton of talent.
 
Would love us to sign him. Just to make our squad stronger! What a choice of players Jose would have.
 
Would be a great signing but can't cross therefore don't see us being interested.
 
Draxler would improve our squad and if the price is right we should make a bid. Perisic isn't going to happen now and we do need a winger. The great thing is that he is very versatile and can play on the left or right wing or as a 10.

By the very narrow definition people have given me of a "winger" this summer Draxler would not qualify since he likes to cut inside.
 
It seems Draxler really embraced PSG and he probably hates to leave. Hard to believe that PSG would let him go for just €35-40M, but that would at least ensure that he can pick his club. Last time he was forced into a move to Wolfsburg, he hated the club and it showed. He clearly fancies himself a big club/stage player and that´s what he´ll need. I´ll say Arsenal, Liverpool, Dortmund, Bayern or Juventus. Arsenal and Bayern as the favourites.
 
If Liverpool don't at least try to sign this lad, they are muppets.
Would love him here but he won't warm a bench.
Has so many options.
Needs a consistent run.

If it is what I think it is then Lequipe reported that El Mundo Deportivo claims that Draxler have been proposed to Barcelona but they aren't interested and he should stay.
 
I won't buy into this one until there's a concrete link. As fans we tend to force links to players the club simply has no interest in because we rate that particular player and feel he would be good. I did this with B. Silva so was left disappointed in that we didn't even try (as far as we know anyway).
 
We should be all in on this action. If we let a domestic rival take him then we'll really regret it.

Even if there was anything in this rumour, no way he is sold for cheap. €70-80m minimum.
 
If he's available for a decent price, I'd definitely go for him ahead of Lemar and Perisic. Could be just what we need.
 
Would make sense to get him and then sell Lingard to someone for half the price - that way we would have upgraded our squad for a very reasonable money (and Draxler has great resale value too, of course, which is good to have)

That obviously won’t happen since we just committed to Lingard long term.
