Nah he wanted to do the old Zidane trick and it slipped away, but he sold it very well.
He´s a quality player and still only 21. He finally appears healthy again and had a strong opening game of the season. It´s no surprise Juve suddenly want to re-visit the discussion now that he appears fit and in form.
I think Matic is a good DMF, but not the world's best. Having said that, what happened in that gif could have easily happened to the world's best. Sometimes, you just have to say "take a bow son" like Andy Gray... then make a sexist slur that gets you fired
There's no way of knowing whether players 'meant it' in situations like this, but what is amazing is how he carries on right away as if he meant it (ie. not breaking stride and continuing his run.) For me, it's the responding to moments as they happen that are a large part of a player's genius - it's like Bergkamp vs Newcastle. Some question whether he meant it or not, but the way he instantly spun around the defender, gathered the ball and then slotted home is what made that a moment of sublime skill.
Basically another Januzaj, his lack of pace and explosivity will always hinder him on the wing in the PL. Besides that, I rather hope we try Meyer one day.
Draxler IMO is/was the better talent at his age. I don't think Meyer is that much faster to be fair.
Talent and speed aren't directly linked at all.. Max and Drax are both still highly rated for their age..
Meyer has the lower centre of gravity and better dribbling imo.
Meyer hasn't progressed the way I thought he would when I first spotted him 2 or 3 seasons ago.
I doubt he will become more talented than Shaquiri for example, though to be fair, I do rate Shaquiri's talent highly.

It was pointed above that Draxler couldn't handle the Prem with the lack of pace. Pointing out that Meyer isn't much faster than him either(if at all).
The German talents already come out of the junior teams with a very high level - I have the feeling that not many make big steps afterwards...
Imo that has a lot more to do with Schalke's chaotic ways than teenagers being already through with their development.

What's the nonsense talk about an astronomical offer? He has a 45m Euro release clause, that's hardly a big deal for English top clubs, let alone astronomical.
Is he really worth 45m though.
Also talent wise would you compare Draxler with Sterling. And who's the better player ?

Impossible to judge Draxler at the moment, his development stalled in the last 2 years because of the chaos at Schalke and his injuries. Talent wise, I'd say both are around the same level. And no, I don't think he's worth that much at the moment. But then, Schalke shouldn't sell him for less now. He'll be a valuable player for them this season and if he stays healthy and plays well, some club will pay that much next season. They'd be stupid to let him go on the cheap this summer.
It is not just Schalke player's from which I have that impression. Look at the German national team. I remember that especially around 2011 everybody talked about all that young talents that will be better than the ones that play in the team. Four years later I still do not see them. It is still that 88/89 year that now is the backbone of the team and none of the new talents since then seem to be able to make the cut...
That was always silly though. The same was said about the Spanish nationalteam. The transition from one fantastic generation to the next one never goes smoothly and the new ones always struggle a lot. Also let's not forget that the 88/89 generation is only about to enter their prime now and the following generation are all still kids.
People always project the strength of the current generation of stars onto the promising youngsters from the next one, which automatically leads to a lot of players being overhyped and eventually 'disappointing'.

Would be FM-tastic but in reality all three wouldn't get the game time they needed to develop with us and Adnan cant even get games ahead of Young at the moment so buying another top youngster (especially with periera coming through as well) would seem a big gamble.
I like Draxler though and would personally much prefer him over Young but I cant see LVG playing him so it would just be a waste at the moment

Wouldn't mind him here, he is a very talented player, and already has quite a bit of experience at a young age. Only worry would be his ridiculous injury record. We definately needs some new bloody in attack though, and he would be a decent shout along with Pedro.
