Think the way he changed the team from around 2008 was fairly comprehensive. The gung-ho went away, midfield became much more static/positionally disciplined and united became more of a team that would win games thanks to its defence. And of course, you got results in Europe again.

That 2008 side was a different outfit tactically to his 90s sides.

Only in European games (and few big games), in league we were playing usual style but instead of 4-4-2, it was different formation with Ronaldo getting all the freedom from defensive work.

The money Jose needs?

The claim I responded to was that Spurs have almost no spare money (metaphorically expressed as a "transfer budget of 50p") … there was no reference to Jose and what he may or may not need.

As for "£71m net last summer, and nothing for 18 months before that" … 18 months ago we were still building our new stadium. Now the stadium itself is finished and open for business, with huge extra income from it now rolling in and most of our stadium-related debts secured on very low interest rates (an average of just 2.66% per year) and repayable only over a long period of time (staggered maturities of between 15 and 30 years).

As I've said many times on here, most opposition fans have not understood what a cash cow our new stadium complex will be. But they'll be forced to change their tune when they see a full year's worth of figures and compare our stadium-related income in comparison with other Prem clubs.

But he went from Wingers to inside forwards, two up top to a fluid front 3. Box to box midfielders to two DLP.
Unless he reinvents football then there isnt much more changing up he could do

I'm not talking about formations or player roles, playing philosophy. SAF was always attacking manager.

You were 1-0ing your way to the league title in 08/09 in a lot of games. I remember being exceptionally annoyed with this.

Not because he suddenly turned into Jose, it was because we used to miss lot of chances and also adding Berba at that time messed up the balance of the team. That was very low scoring season for us, at least in the league winning seasons.

Jose clearly needs money to spend on this spurs team. There’s no indication he has it.

no one cares about the revenue from the stadium except you. In a way I admire your persistence, but who the hell cares that the interest rate is 2.66% on a Utd forum...

a large proportion of any profits will be spend it sacking Jose in any case.

don’t worry, Utd fans also got the blinkers on when Jose rocked up at OT. He’s changed he said, he’s evolved he said, he’s learnt from his mistakes he said.

We are all waiting for the inevitable implosion. With a chairman like Levy, is going to come quicker than before. Lets wait and see who he’s not allowed to buy in Jan, and if he makes it, next summer.

Yeah the idea it won't end in tears is pretty crazy. Spurs had a more stable manager who they gave the sack because it was simply the end of his time.

Mourinho, who I personally admire, is a whole other level of enfant terrible. I imagine in two years time, you'll see exactly what United and Chelsea have been talking about.

It always ends in tears with every single manager (apart from Fergie). I don't see how it is any different for Jose for anybody else. All managers end up sacked.

most managers don’t leave a club in complete tatters. That’s what Jose does. Did Poch do that? No.

You claim that Spurs don't have the money that Jose needs (although you haven't said what amount this is supposed to be).

However, booming stadium-related revenue and very low debt interest rates are both highly relevant financial factors that feed into the availability of transfer-related funds. Whether or not you care about them is irrelevant - they still exist.

He burdened us with multiple players that would never have been in United in the first place. In fact, if it wasn't for the board not backing him in his final window, we'd also be without Martial and have more ageing, injury prone has-been's in defense. He damaged player relations so much that he destroyed the possibility of our best player extending his contract...no, our two best players (one of which has had to be appeased with ludicrous wages).

It's what Jose does. Moyes was just shit, but he wasn't here long enough to do any bad damage. LVG was boring and transfers were poor, but it was easily remedied, and he did provide us with some players who done the job here.
 
Said it at the time and I’ll say it again, what a fecking stupid decision by Spurs.

Got rid of one of the best young managers in football for a past it Jose, it will ultimately knock them back about 3 years.

Funny thing is this patchy form is probably their new manager bump, they’ll probably get a lot worse.
 
His style of football is still horrific. He hasn't changed with the times and it's showing every game

Lumping balls into a big striker up-front and hoping someone latches onto it is not the way to improve
 
He's a clueless manager. Don't understand why Levy thought this would work.
 
Jose probably regrets saying he was happy with the team and club when he took over. Now he’s got to find something else to blame.

So Jose left a year ago but our best player still doesn't want to sign. Blaming him for that is a bit silly, don't you think.

He was desperate for a job and telling Levi he'll need to spend £0.5bn on new players wasn't going to get him hired.
