Film Joker: Folie à Deux (Joker 2)

The reviews don’t look very promising for this.

Critics reviews are at 44% on Rotten Tomatoes and it’s currently rated at 5.5/10 on IMDB.

Might give this one a miss :(

I was weighing going to see this despite being sure it would be absolute trash, but every review is telling me to watch on home release with remote in hand to fast forward through the majority of it.

Same, although I think I’ll wait for someone to make a cut of it without the musical parts. By the sounds of it that’ll make for a short film!

I’ve only seen clips of this but I hate everything about it with every fibre in my body.

I’m struggling to see how anyone could possibly fit more into frame to scream “nerd” than he has. It’s rammed!

And just in case it wasn’t enough, he says he listens to Warhammer in the car …

You have 24000 on an internet message board that mean nothing.

He's got close to 2 million views on a video he posted 12 hours ago and 16million followers.

Who's really the loser here?

Him.

Or the person who’s arsed to check a random YouTubers stats and reply to a nobody with 24,000 (somethings) on an internet message board that means nothing.

Take your pick, I’m easy.

This sounds dreadful  shame as the first was a pretty good watch with a few truly standout scenes.

I thought this was going to be the first film to get me into a cinema since Planet of the Apes, but after seeing all the reviews and reaction I think I'll wait until it's available via, er, other means.

Absolutely terrible.

Why turn it into a musical!

It just never got going.

Saw it. It was so shit! My fears were accurate unfortunately. Why did that dumbass decide to turn Joker into a musical ffs. The annoying thing is, that's there's actually a good story to be told within this movie. Maybe a courtroom type setting thriller. But it's ruined by the dumb musical shite and even that was pointless most of the time. All the non-musical scenes were actually good and it's like they just missed an opportunity to improve on Joker. They completely fecked it up. 4/10

Are the musical bits important in terms of connective tissue, or can they be skipped and it still be coherent?

All skipped. It just so random and pointless. It doesn't move the plot forward. Not like the greatest showman where something is moving the story forward, saying what they feel during the song and it actually effects the story. Every musical moment is basically just him sitting there. Then dance theme and resumes back to where he was.

 Whyyy would they do that? It’s even worse than having to sit through a productive musical!

Definitely not for me until I can control the viewing experience.

Are the songs at least fun, or was that an excruciating experience to sit through?

Probably one or two 'meh' songs. The other 10 songs (I'm not far off) are painful. What a moron for okaying this movie after a masterpiece from the first one. Just a mind boggling bad decision. It's annoying because there really is a movie in-between those scenes and it could have paid off so much better. The acting, cinematography and all that was good. But feck the story sucked.

There was no reason for this follow-up. Even the first one was not all that. Just hope it has not damaged the joker

I listen to warhammer lore videos to sleep. Stuff is crazy interesting

Couldn't agree more. I was actually really enjoying the movie and then the clowns would all burst into song. Like you said, it doesn't drive the plot forward and it's also tuneless rubbish. If you take out all the music, you'd be left with around an hour long movie which itself would be quite good. But the music absolutely ruins it. It's an unbelievably daft decision to go ahead with this.

Just made a thread; friend has walked out of this 50mins in!

What happens around that time then?

I reckon someone is going to do the honours and edit this, chopping all the songs out.

Looks like it's a mega flop.

Wouldn't have expected that tbh (even if the movie was bad).
