Joao Felix

How can Chelsea have all these players on their books and afford all these signings? Without impacting FFP, I don’t get it.

They sell players REALLY well. We sorted them out with 60 million for feckin Mount in the last year of his contract, too. The good news is that hardly any of the players they've signed under Clearlake would make obvious profit, except for Cole Palmer. Hopefully, that will come back and bite them in the next few years.

They also sold a hotel to themselves.

Okay I guess that makes sense if they have FFP issues. I still don’t see why we have to do them a solid by signing a random player from them now that the player we wanted from them isn’t happening anymore.
I'm assuming the Gallagher deal hasn't gone through yet? Otherwise yeah, doesn't make much sense. Mind you, this sounds more like Mendes sensing an opportunity and trying to get a deal for Joao Felix rather than actual interest from Chelsea. Maybe you get him on loan and reduced wages as part of the Gallagher deal, doubt you're actually gonna pay serious money for him

Sounds like we’re willing to pay 40m euros for Joao Felix to get the Gallagher deal over the line.

I was under the impression Madueke did well for them. Surprised if Chelsea put him on the market.
..actually not that surprised.

I don’t think he’s on the market to be honest. Other clubs are allowed to be interested in him though, and it seems as though Newcastle are interested.

€50m? They are getting fleeced for Felix.
They're offering 45m euros, which they can easily get back for him if he doesn't work out, selling well is something they do. If he fulfils even half his hype, it's a good deal. I personally don't rate him one bit but most of the football world seems to.

It’s a bad deal purely on the basis that we literally do not need him, nor do we have space for him. We’re already struggling to find minutes for all the attacking players we already have. He isn’t a better 10 than Palmer and Nkunku. He isn’t a better RW than Palmer and Madueke. He isn’t a better LW than Neto and Sterling.

I’m not sure they do. His stock has absolutely plummetted.

This signing makes absolutely no sense. Does he even start for them?

I think we can all agree the PSR rules are doing their job when a team can agree to sign a player - who they had previously had on an expensive and underwhelming loan - simply because it allows the selling team to buy one of their homegrown players, thus generating a net book profit, even though he’s being sold for considerably less than the guy they’re buying.
