Joao Cancelo

Just out of interest but how many transfers does this Di Marzio guy actually call correctly? I'm not on about the obvious ones like Griezmann to Barca.
Not sure about La Liga/Bundesliga/PL transfers, but he seems to know an awful lot about United and he's very reliable with Italian clubs.

Some of you are seriously overrating cancelo, is it because of how shit young is or because you guys don't watch him often?which is which?

A lot. He was the first to report Pogba back to United.

Wasn't that quite obvious from end of 15/16 he was interested in move back. I mean more under the radar moves like Lindelof and guys like that. He just strikes me as Balague/Marcotti type.

No when Di Marzio reported it everyone thought he was off to Madrid. Di Marzio is one of the best out there.

Has called a lot of Italian-based players' transfers correctly and seems to have an 'in' with Raiola. He works for Skysports in Italy.

Gets plenty wrong too, of course. Transfer window speculation is not really an exact science.

I was banging on about signing him last season when he was available for £30m.

But as things stand, I'd prefer someone like a Max Aarons if given the choice. We need to build a team to eventually challenge and need to be patient. So someone like Aarons would be a better bet due to us being in a transitional state.

If we're talking about being patient, why would we buy another youngster with Dalot and Laird already here?

I personally wouldn't and have posted my preference for a Left Back instead.

What does the Caf think about him as a RB? Pep wants to offload and have no buyers except Saudi which his agent has rejected. Could be a transformational signing and looks like he gets along with Bruno.

Sorry for the old thread as could not find a new one.

Ask yourself why City and Bayern don't want him.

Why would we want to age up our full backs, positions we're set in, with the limited money available to us when we don't even have a striker.

Hasn't he been in shit form forever now?

Dalot took his spot at the World Cup on merit.

No thanks. 29 and seems to have an attitude problem. He Joao Cancello’d himself.

I thought he was meant to have played well at Bayern? Would take him as a replacement for Dalot but don’t see Pep doing us any favours

We want a strong dressing room, not him.

He was part of cities blue patch hence shipping him out.

Let's also ask Julian Alvarez as part of the package.

He fell out with Pep and Bayern cant afford him
Bayern can afford him, they just don't want him because he's got issues. At the end of his stint he was 3rd choice. You'd have to be desperate to spend money on something toxic like that in the dressing room.

At his peak, he was insanely good. But, his form has been underwhelming for quite a while now.

He's a massive diva going on reports. As massive an upgrade as he potentially could be, it wouldn't be worth it.

Hear me it's rightfully an outrageous idea but we could go for him and for a reasonably fair price I'd reckon considering his current standing at city, dalot has already proven himself on the left and with a perennially injured Shaw might look for a permanent place over there.

So from a scale of not too bad to absolutely not how would Cafe rate this.

Absolutely not, neither Bayern or Barca wanted him full time or as any kind of priority and has a worse standing at City than Sancho does with us.
