So nice to see a player receiving the ball and immediately turning and looking for forward options! Thwaites definitely has a look of Scholes about him

There has been a lot of negativity over the past few days on the caf regarding finances, injuries etc but our youth system could really pull us out of the mire over the next two to three years. There are a lot of very special kids that will likely get chances to impress soon

His weight of pass is really good. Unlike some of our first teamers who just drill the ball in without even looking if there's a player to pass to. He actually takes a look and delivers a decent ball.

From his highlights I get Beckham vibes, too bad that profile doesn't really fit Amorim's current system.

He has better close control than Beckham I would say. Obviously he'd need to demonstrate the ridiculous stamina and work ethic of Beckham and keep improving his passing,crossing and shooting to truly merit the comparison, but I think he's got more natural ability than Beckham did from what I remember. Mentality and fitness is what set Becks apart. I'm sure there's a place for him in Amorim's system even as a 10, but eventually perhaps at CM as somebody suggested. It's not like he doesn't have nous or work rate and his long passing is good.

I think he changed the game yesterday. We were all iver the place in the second half and with him we gained control again. Hi pass to Lusale that led to the winner, with his left, was fantastic

He's a player who I really rate. Will be interesting to see who comes out on top between Thwaites, Lacey, Moorhouse, Ibragimov, Fletcher and Scanlon. One or two of those are perhaps not natural number 10s, but thinking with your first team hat on, that is where they would be best suited in Amorim's system you'd have thought.

One or two of those are perhaps not natural number 10s, but thinking with your first team hat on, that is where they would be best suited in Amorim's system you'd have thought.

I am a bit worried hes going to be too small though, even though I love my small midfielders it can be a problem.

Wouldn't have thought Frenkie de Jong at all. While he's quite press resistant and can turn out of trouble with ease, I'd still see him as more of a passer than a midfield carrier/dribbler like De Jong.

I agree! I see more of Paul Scholes ilk, always on the half turn, great vision and long range passing. The only thing lacking is the goal threat at the moment
