Hernandez on the back of his Mexico shirt? As want to purchase one. Also if anyone has any links to use? Soccertriads is that the best?

Powerade showed an advert here in Mexico after the GC final with a video of a very, very young Hernández (8-10 years old) where he is asked "what's your name? - Javier Hernández - are you gonna score a lot of goals? - I hope I do". What a guy. What a gem.

That should help shut up some people who want more to his play than just goals.

Apparently Tom Hanks is familiar with El Chicharito song.. and the weather girl is just...

Lovely pass from Chicharito for Mexico's first.

More evidence coupled with the nice weighted ball at Shalke, the nice over the top balls he played away at Blackburn and the flick pass around the corner to Barrera earlier in the Gold Cup that the real Javier Hernandez has stood up. As his confidence grows he's showing the full range of his abilities and proving he's got more to his locker than some people on the CAF like to give him credit for.

Mexico won the Concacaf's Gold Cup, thrilling game, they came from behind 0-2 and won 4-2.

Chicharito was the tournament's Top Scorer and also won the MVP award!

.... and scored 7 goals.

Overrated.

Absolutely frightening development. I'd be stunned if he doesn't take this form with him into the next season.

Wow, I don't think I've ever seen someone change so little appearance wise since childhood. He looks exactly the same

Oh, and I love him :nohomo:

he was such a cute little boy. I just wanna pinch his cheeks.

Manchester United are sending Javier Hernandez on a month-long break to avoid burn-out after his marathon campaign finally ended on Saturday night with another winner’s medal.

The Reds striker was instrumental for Mexico as they overturned the USA’s lead in Pasadena to win the Gold Cup final 4-2.

Twelve months ago today Old Trafford’s new £8m recruit was ending his World Cup with the Mexicans in South Africa.

They were beaten in Johannesburg in the last 16 against Argentina with Chicharito scoring in the 3-1 defeat.

He had a break before joining up with United on their 2010 US tour but since then it has been non-stop with 45 appearances for United in his debut term and 20 goals, plus internationals throughout the season for Mexico.

But he was delighted with the conclusion in Pasadena.

“We were consistent and we fought for the entire 90 minutes,” said Hernandez. “We were two down and that’s usually very difficult but thanks to God for this team, we found a way. It was great. I was happy because we won it.”

He won the tournament’s Golden Boot with seven goals as well as the Most Valuable Player of the Tournament award.

Hernandez will now have his well-earned break before joining up late again on this summer’s American tour with the Reds.

United are keen not to tire the sensation of the season but his off-field work at United’s Carrington training HQ has prepared him physically for the marathon job.

“I work really hard in Manchester,” Hernandez said. “I get up at 8am, I eat breakfast and I go to the training session where I work so hard and I do extra work in the gym. I was educated by my parents in that way.

“If you want something in your life, you have to work hard. I know football is a job, but I am enjoying it so much.”

He has bulked up in the last 12 months on Sir Alex Ferguson’s instructions.

United fitness coach Tony Strudwick and sports scientist Gary Walker worked closely to design a workout schedule, resulting in Hernandez adding several pounds of muscle.

His diet has also been tailored by United’s backroom staff to ensure he gets the right fuel.

On arrival, the striker was asked to compile a list of his favorite Mexican dishes, which were then adapted by club chefs to incorporate more nutrients and reduce fats.

I thought Mexico where in the Copa America this year as well?

Is he not going?

I thought Mexico where in the Copa America this year as well?

Is he not going?

no. he is not.

mexico are sending their under 23 team with a few overage players. of the gold cup players, giovanni dos santos will be involve in the copa america as well.

Can someone sticky that he's not going to the Copa America? I'm pretty sure the same question is asked on every page for the last 15-20 pages.

7 Mexican players expelled from Copa Amercia for actions of 'ill repute'. Is this a way of getting Chicarito back into the team?

Just noticed this on on the ESPN Soccernets Tweets section ... God I hope it's not true and that he's on vacation now so at least gets back at the beginning of August to training with United.

I just hope expectations from our fans are not set too high for him next year.

Don't worry, the Federation has already replaced them with players from the U-20 team that went to Toulon.
