Criminals now? Tough legal system in Blighty I guess. Both men are jackasses. The dad seems to be a little star-struck and realizes he's about get his 15 minutes of fame. I didn't hear any hint of crying, the daughter just seems to be annoyed at both of these ballbags.

How did he make it for all those years as a footballer if he snaps like this as soon as someone winds him up a bit?

He must have taken worse abuse in games against the likes of United and Everton and not reacted.

As has been said countless times already, nobody is defending the Dad, he's an absolute knobhead as well as Carragher. Both should be punished
I just hate the modern culture where it seems fair game to act like a knobhead to someone famous while filming it all so you can hopefully catch a bad reaction to it on video. I have already said I'm not condoning what Carragher did, but in these situations, most of my annoyance is reserved for whoever intentionally instigates it all.

This wasn't what I was expecting when I clicked on the thread, I thought the 14 year old girls was a dig at people who didn't like how we played and that he was defending Jose's tactics and spitting in the face of naysayers, I never expected him to be literally spitting at a 14 year old girl. :wenger:

His excuse rings hollow, if it was a car full of pissed up guys yelling abuse at him then sure, but the guy saying 2-1 to him was doing so in a fairly laid back manner, not with any kind of vitriol or abuse, and he had a kid with him, there was no provocation, he should be sacked, pathetic from him and disappointing as I thought he had more about him than that.

Yes good point actually !

Exactly. The idea that Carragher was ''harassed'' is ridiculous. Unless there was something said off camera, but based purely off what we seen in the video, there's absolutely no excuse for Carragher.

Have to be so careful in todays world. Everyone has a camera phone and everyone is a journalist. Good chance he could be sacked and I actually like listening to him.

It's quite a weird world when most sport related articles is labeled as shocking when they are reporting something that was created from nothing, and when the actual shocking news comes along, even that has to be exaggerated. Imagine how exited they got in the newsroom when they received the video. "Oh my this is.. actually shocking, i mean what should we write? John, quick what is above shocking?"

I mean, he spat on a little girl in a fit of rage, over a bit of football banter, he has to go.

If he'd just spat on the dad would have been a fair reaction imo. What a pair of jackasses.

Carraghers probably annoyed that Tottenham are now within spitting distance of Liverpool in the league

"Seen from a different angle, there's actually no contact."

No it wouldn’t.

If he flipped off the Dad and drove off would have been the best reaction.

Spitting on someone is low. Not sure how anyone can call that fair reaction from someone shouting 2–1.

How is that still a reasonable reaction? The Dad was just being a wum. Carragher could've laughed in response, told him to feck off or just ignored it.

I don't think I've ever witnessed even the most drunken aggressive morons at pubs I've watched United games at, resort to spitting over some football banter.

There clearly was plenty else said off camera. Carragher said it went on for a few times and he drove away at first, but it continued. The bloke probably only decided to start filming after he knew Carra was wound up enough to give a reaction. Even his daughter was pleading with him to stop by that point.

*just to clarify, this comment in no way condones Carragher's actions.

The dad seemed chuffed with that result

Seemed to get exactly what he was looking for but Carra has no excuse for what he did hope he's sacked for it but I can't see Sky letting go of him

He should be gone by tomorrow lunchtime - that is so disgusting.

''This bloke was being a bit of a prat'', he said ''2-1 Jamie, lad'' really annoyingly, it was even more annoying after I'd wound my car window down so I could hear properly...

Nah, he can feck off, it's lowlife.

But that's in a pub, not some tosser driving alongside you with his phone out and eyes off the road.

Granted it is a ridiculous way to react nonetheless.

Seemed to take it so well in the studio and then goes and does that

I had started to like him but I’m certain Sky can’t keep him on after that, that’s him finished as a pundit on mainstream UK Sports Channels imo

Surely it's easier to ignore some tosser with his phone out in the comfort of your own car, than in a pub?

@hobbers
Hes chanting the score back to Carragher in a non aggressive manner. This must be as routine as it gets, I cant think of a more mundane thing that could be said.
Shit haircut maybe?
Thy must get this all the time when they leave rivals grounds. Theres nothing fair about this.

I love the girls reaction after. Just a "yep he spat on me".

Total non story. Except for father of the year who needs a call from social services.

He could get charged with assault ....absolutely hope he does.
