Rumours coming out from Villa that United have done a deal.

I stress rumours.

This was the talk of why O'Neill was walking, as Lernar had done a deal for Milner with United.

Personally I think he's a good, but not great, player who we don't really need. The only reason I could to sign him over other central midfielders out there would be his nationality...

He'd be a fantastic addition to the SQUAD but not the incremental improvement we need as a team.

Would be great to see this line-up next season IMO. The foundation of the team british as well.

What?

You don't think that team looks good? What would be great with having Milner is that I think he'd help Rooney not get too isolated when playing as a lone striker which happens too often when we play 4-5-1/4-3-3.

I don't buy it. He'd cost an arm and a leg and he's too similar to Cleverley, who I think is part of Sir's plans for the future.

That's true, I forgot about Cleverley. Very exciting young player, would be great if he could break through in our first team in the future.

I'd feel very indifferent if we signed him. Is he better than Carrick? No. Fletcher? No. Nani? Valencia? Park? I dont think so.

He's a good player, but if we're going to spend big in midfield, surely we'd be looking for someone a bit more creative?

Could mean something we're not expecting. Like if Park is moving on and Milner was his replacement.

He'd be a great buy. He's probably a better winger than the ones we already have, and a better attacking midfielder than... well, exactly, we don't really have any attacking midfielders.

How is he a better winger?

He's got more goals in him than any of our other central options though.

He's better than Park, a better attacking midfielder than Carrick and Fletcher, as good as in-form Nani (and is much more often in-form) and probably slightly better than Valencia.

That would be nice to see.. Rodwell has it in him to be a superior version of Carrick and Milner would complement those that pairing in midfield.

The three up front is fine, but a left footer and Nani/Valencia rotating on the right flank would be ideal.

He s one of the most under-rated players in the PL imo. At Villa usually Ashley Young catches the eye but it's Milner the real thing..

If i m not wrong we were linked to him when he was a kid at Leeds - I remember reading somewhere that Fergie rated him very highly at the time.
