He’s just saying that it’s his next project. The film is due out November 2019 so they will have to start soon.

Sometimes I wish we could have Vinnie Jones play Bond just once : "Oi! Do you fecking know who I am, mate? I am double O fecking 7 you absolute fecking wanker."

He would be better than the blond blancfaced monotone guy..

I'd like to see a Ridley Scott Bond film

Or a Chris Nolan film, think he wants to start afresh with a new Bond though.

Martin Campbell, the director of Casino Royale would be a good call.

Christopher Nolan will revert to his typecast of merrymen. Tom Hardy as Bond, Cillian Murphy as the villain. Hans Zimmer on the soundtrack.

Boyle was the reason why I'd watch this new one... so unless they get an adequate replacement I'll probably end up skipping it.

Just can't take Craig as Bond.

Wonder if they could tempt McQuarrie to direct? Guarantee the action would be good at least.

Daniel Craig has been a brilliant Bond.

He's just so vacant in the role, it's like watching a robot be Bond.

You see Craig in a film like Logan Lucky, where there's actual life to the character and his performance and its night and day in comparison to Bond.

That's the character though, Bond isn't a lively bubbly guy, he's quite dry and withdrawn.

He's dry and withdrawn, but not boring... and on top of that he's meant to be cool. Connery oozed charisma as bond... the only thing Craig oozes is battery acid.

I agree with that, it particularly didn't help that he clearly didn't want to do the last one so it had his usual lack of charm married to him phoning in his performance. The direction they've taken Bond also isn't that interesting.

I hope that he's more engaged this time and enjoys himself a bit more and tries to go out on a high with more charm and fun, I don't care about Bond's childhood and I'm not really interested in him being a mopey, tortured soul for another two hours.

That's clearly intentional though. They've gone for a darker edge to bond with Craig.

Bond used to be slapstick comedy/action, Connery / Dalton especially.

I quite like Craig's bond, but I feel the last film was just boring, rather than the character. He was fine in Casino Royale as it was a good film.

Are you not thinking of Moore/Brosnan here? Connery was the first Bond and sort of the original take on the character which set the tone, and Dalton's Bond was notorious for having a darker edge between the zaniness of Moore and Brosnan.

Yeah must be. It's quite jarring how despite Craig's version supposedly being the most serious take on the character, the last film comes with a plot twist so ridiculous (Blofeld is his step bro) that Roger Moore's eyebrow is now permanently raised.

Christ Spectre was an awful film.

It felt like they were so delighted to get Waltz in as the villain to the point where they basically forgot to write a part for him. So they then made him Bond's brother and retconned the previous three films to make him responsible for everything that'd gone wrongly for Bond. The main Bond woman went from despising him to being madly in love with him right after he killed Batista, and the other Bond woman slept with him just after he murdered her fecking husband, thus endangering her life gravely.

This reminds me that I never did get round to watching Spectre. Sounds like I haven't missed much.
