A seriously quiet day today, eh lads.
Good point actually I hadn't consciously registered that, especially with all these tweets confirming personal terms for pretty much every transfer now. Feels like the last "tapping up" issue was Pool chasing Van Dijk where they apologised in the end.
@FizzyWomack, I'm female but I appreciate the blessing!Bless you Penna. Thank you kind sir
See all the love we have here for you Jadon!
I knew for definite he wanted to leave immediately after the European Cup final in Moscow through my contacts. I was also staying in the same hotel and it was an open secret amongst the players and staff. However, Sir Alex persuaded him to stay for an extra year after the final. It was nothing to do with his injury. I spoke to Roman Abramovich on the phone whilst in Moscow and sang Viva Ronaldo jokingly. He also confirmed Ronaldo had a wish to leave. If I recall correctly he also went through a surgery in the summer and missed Aug - Sep due to a fractured knee. That might have played into his decision to stay put for another year
Before the chaos and clamour of the night!A seriously quiet day today, eh lads.
Regarding the bolded bit. I think it's a mix of things.
I think Dortmund would like to announce a new signing or have one lined up before they sell Sancho. Also I think we are happy to let it rumble on as it avoids us having to pay the wages, sounds silly but if you add up what we save by signing him just before the deadline compared to the beginning of this window it's a few million.
I think if they find a replacement this may soften their stance on the repayment amounts and how they are spread.
Plus maybe we are happy to still work on selling a few players before we go in and bid with our highest possible initial instalment. Because that's going to be key, if we offer something low like £50million as the initial up front payment then it will be a non starter.

I apologise mate. It was uncalled for. I was in the middle of a tricky situation at home!Calm your knickers I was responding the content of the tweet
what fun is that?Stayed away from this thread, I got too involved in Griezmann last season it consumed my life.
Im staying completely neutral in transfer window now.
If each post here was a seat in a stadium, this thread would be the 11th biggest stadium for the 20/21 Premier League season.
Just a mere thousand away from Goodison Park at 10th.
A friend of a friend works for an insurance company in London. Apparently a certain someone *wink wink nudge nudge say n’more say n’more* has taken out insurance on a Mercedes G-Wagon. The kicker is that it’s in Hertfordshire.
Clearly losing sleep over his Manchester United dream
@Sultan hands me a lifeline. I am destined to be a muppet it seems. My biggest question is -
I have 1 more post remaining for today - should I spend it by being a muppet or keep it for something more exciting later on?

United didn't sell that season if I remember correctly. They asked Ronaldo to give us an extra season with a promise of a move the next. He accepted and the move was done.
I'm worried all this talk of signing all these young players from other clubs is going to be trumpeted as some "investing in the future" headline to distract from some other transfer failures....I hope I'm wrong but I'm getting a bad feeling that we are stalling on Jadon because we don't have the money available.
Just catched up on the last few pages. Here are the highlights.
On page 956 @Jesper Weber Mortensen came with a really solid and well-thought of observation, proving that the cafe has a firm grip on this whole situation:
Next page was a complete disaster. A few more tweets saying that we’re confident in a deal and also someone’s friend’s friend apparently works for an insurance company in london.
Page 959 was off to a rough start with this again:
Luckily, @Suedesi saved the page with this cool picture of Ronaldo wearing really cool shorts:
Happy Sancho day I guess.
The sleeping problem being he goes to bed too late.
Jaysus. What a way to be launching into the new season! You've been too long watching Westmeath, I think. All the hope and joy has been beaten out of you.

Never knew you're a wild one too, Sultan
No mention of my post having the guts to sing Viva Ronaldo to one of the richest guys in the world? I forgot to mention I also gave a mouthful to the Glazers present at the hotel after the final. To be fair, they just smiled at me and walked away.
Anyway, have a like for your summing up of this spam fest.
Me, too. It's getting tiresome. Borderline on "Spam" territory already.Don’t see the humour in posting all these old tweets
Yeah exactly, reasons precisely like this are why transfers of this size can take so long to conclude.Good post. I agree the last thing dortmund want to do is discuss transfers fees with other clubs for players they would like to sign shortly after becoming £108 million pounds richer.
