Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

For posturing. Same reason why Dortmund have constantly released briefs telling us it's off and to feck ourselves. You can't only have it one way. By most accounts, we haven't even begun negotiating with Dortmund yet, instead getting his agent and personal fees sorted.

I really do hope we sign him, but if we had intention of paying what they wanted and if they had intention of dropping the price, I think it would of happened by now. They start their season extremely soon and we risk him not even being able to play due to potentially quarantining, disrupting our start to the season. It's been reported they are well happy to keep him and won't sell for anything but the price they've set, you've also got the British media, who everyone here seems to lap up, when it's positive, but completely overlook when it's negative, claiming we have no intention of paying what they want.

Last time Dortmund was this adamant was the Auba and Dembele sagas, both times, not only did the player have to force through a move, but they ended up getting what they wanted anyway. I think it's a very reasonable price for a player of his ability and I'd say 120m is already including a discount given the player he could be for us, but as much as I hope I'm wrong, I don't see this deal being done for cheaper nor do I see it being done with unrealistic add ons etc.
Why would we bother? Why wouldn't we just offer Bayern £50m for Coman or sort a loan (with an option to buy) for Dembele from Barcelona? It doesn't make any sense to waste time fake negotiating instead of signing more obtainable targets if we didn't feel there was a deal to be done.

Well according to the brief last night we've just managed to agree agent fees and personal terms so it sounds like there was no point going into formal negotiations with Dortmund if the player and his reps were asking for silly money anyway.

Dortmund have already bluffed about this transfer and others. They keep saying they won't sell but everyone close to this deal is saying they're still happy to sell for the right price. For an experienced negotiator, that's a green light. It's like me saying to you, my car is not for sale at any price, I'm happy to keep it, but if you did offer massive money I'd let it go. That's a clear indication that the person with the car actually wants to sell and is playing poker.

We'll sign Sancho for around £100m and both clubs will walk away and say "we got a good deal in a COVID market".

Don't know what's worse, the Sancho saga from day 1 or the zebra kit, my word.

No. They can negotiate until the cows come home for all I care. All power to them. What I'm suggesting is, it's been well reported we have no intention of paying their valuation, it's being well reported they have no intention of dropping their valuation. This will not be the Bruno situation, we won't have the opportunity to come back in a January. This won't be the Maguire situation, Dortmund are more than happy to keep Sancho.

If this is going to happen, it won't be with some rubbish Ballon D'or add-ons, that's for sure.

Re: your Smalling point, that's ultimately the point though. We didn't have to sell, therefore we kept pushing back for more money. This seems similar to Pogba last season. Player happy to leave, Madrid happy to buy. We are happy to sell at a specific price, because we'd prefer to keep and we have no need to sell. Madrid didn't pay, Pogba stayed.
You make very valid points but it’s all hypothesis based.

Only time will tell, but we are nearly there.

As someone who has followed Harry Pinero on social media and his content for some time, I don't want to sound like a bad guy but you guys are getting carried away. At best all he will know is that Sancho want to come to United, which we know anyway. He may well be cool with Sancho, but I don't think he is anywhere near as close to Sancho as people are making out.

We may well think there's a deal to be done, it's been widely reported that we haven't even begun negotiating with Dortmund, instead spending time on the agent and player fees. So I don't think it's 'fake negotiating', especially as it's seemingly been through intermediaries. Also, it's all about PR. Neither of these teams want to come out of this looking worse off.

I think the issue is, United are in a very difficult spot now. It's going to be a shit-storm for them to walk away from this deal from the fans, but it's becoming evident to me that they have no intention, for whatever reason *covid, of paying the fee. The alternatives will be a huge drop off. I don't think players like Coman are available and Dembele, who I am a huge fan of, would be extremely risky given his injury record. Sancho is perfect in almost every regard, player profile, social media presence, British etc.

I do hope you're right about them willing to play ball for less, but I'm not so convinced myself. Player seems happy either way and he's had an agreement with them to leave at a certain price, completely in the club's right to then receive that amount.

These negotiations aren’t straight forward
Of course, they were never going to be, but if the brief from last week is to be believed, we said that the issue lay with the agent/wages and that we didn't believe that a fee with Dortmund would be a big obstacle to overcome. So now that the time to negotiate the fee has supposedly arrived (or is close to) then surely it shouldn't be too hard to do. (by United's supposedly own words - of course, we don't know if it was a genuine brief or just journos being journos, we all know the fee is a huge sticking point though)

The closest link we have is that harry guy really.

Personally knows him, could easily have the inside line. His whole thing is social media so to get this badly wrong would "cancel him" and pretty much ruin his credit instantly. I think he knows it's very close just waiting for the clubs to get the total agreement. Sancho clearly wants to come.

What ITK connections does this poster claim To have and does he have any previous in being correct?
Claims to have a mate working at the Guardian. Vague details beyond that. Perhaps a shite inside joke/wum... but if he is on a wum, it really is low-hanging fruit...

When’s the cocks out and threadban deadline for the resident itk? Tonight?

United aren't in a difficult spot, we've missed out on players before, the club didn't fold. Ask anyone in here about Snjieder, Thiago, Fabregas, Bale etc, it's disappointing but it's not the end of the world, especially if the club go out and sign Coman (who is interested in signing for United for first team football), a CB and a LB in the next couple of weeks, we'd all say we had a good window. If the club want to walk away they will do Sancho isn't the only player we can sign this summer. Anyone that gets upset about that needs to have a long hard look at themselves.

The PR in England is COVID has put a strain on finances. United lose around £4m a game on match days with an empty stadium, it's the same for all clubs of course. Mitten spoke to an Italian agent this week and said everyone is waiting for a big transfer to happen to set a marker for the summer, they were expecting fees to be down 20% - 30%. Then Havertz happened. Leverkusen wanted £100m, in the end they got £70m with add-ons up to £90m. Dortmund will do the same.

For United to sign Sancho, the player will have to agitate for a move away like Sky Sports reporter Darmesh Sheth has stated. United will have to bid first before things start moving obviously.

When Dortmund sold the likes of Mkhi, Auba and Dembele it was due to those players agitating for a move. Unless Sancho does the same I can't see this move materializing in this window. But from what James Ducker has reported, it does seem like Sancho could agitate for a move.

What ITK connections does @altodevil claim to have and does he have any previous in being correct?
A friend working at the guardian, not in sports I believe he said.
He got three messages from him. First it was on, then totally off, now on again.
Think that’s all.

The one thing that makes me confident that we are going to sign him is the fact we briefed all our usual mouthpieces that we have ironed out the contract and agent fee issues.

I don’t think we would be that bold if we didn’t have explicit permission from Dortmund to be having these discussions.

Reading between the lines and adding 2+2 and making 5, I reckon we told Dortmund we couldn’t match their demands and satisfy his agent’s demands. They in turn told us to sort everything out with Jadon and his agent and when we’re happy with those figures and have a better idea of what we have left to spend, come back with a concrete bid and start the real discussions.

What was the details of his ITK? It would happen today?
Nah, they never commit like that. Always tune in at bloody 12:01 for the great reveal. I don’t know why I’m even annoyed by it - probs just the tendency for people on this forum to believe anything

It’s obviously a wum, it’s just not particularly funny nor believable.

@altodevil show yourself the muppets need feeding.

What ITK connections does @altodevil claim to have and does he have any previous in being correct?

He's a bullshitter.

No suggestion anything has changed. Sancho will not be a United player this summer.
Yesterday:
Have to think the deal will be done any day now.

Kagawa - nothing
Mkhitaryan - The fat man started throwing chairs around, not the player.
Aubameyang - Skipped a team meeting
Dembele - said: "To be honest, this speculation doesn't interest me at all," he said. "I like being here in Dortmund and I decided to join Dortmund after my time at Rennes consciously." Then got into a training ground bust up with a goalkeeper before leaving.

Hardly caused fecking ruptions before leaving did they?

I dunno, he would look a complete Cnut in front of his followers and that’s how he makes his money.

You really reckon his followers will care?
Have you not seen the ITK accounts posting shite all year round still having thousands of followers?
Sancho might happen might not, but I can tell you for a fact Harry fecking Pinero knows feckall

To be fair we ALWAYS do our business in the last week of the window for some strange reason.

Maguire and Bruno both went down to the wire, I suspect Sancho will too.
