Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

Bit surprised they're openly talking about being skint now, but its probably purposefully done to tell their fans "well we had no choice!" they're not turning down 120m, its a fact. We will get him.

"Sorry Fans, when we said that he's not leaving under any circumstances we kinda forgot about this Corona thingy, so now we're selling after all".

Am I doing it right?
You forgot: "Cause we need cash for transfers which we only need to do when we sell Sancho in the first place"

Been carved in stone he stays, there's no way back now.

I would put the stone tablet on display in Dortmund, create little tourist spot.

Today is Sancho day.

In Dortmund it is, they have a Sancho day every day.

Because Bayern is still playing and Leverkusen was until two days ago. Dortmund has been on vacation for 6 weeks.

Oh yeah, I forgot, players aren't agreed before seasons end. Like Werner was, like Pulisic was, like Keita was. We'll ignore our season hasn't even finished though.

The biggest transfer in football and there is criticism with circa 2 months left of the window.

Thiago and Havertz have been expected to leave, it's old news, but the agreement still hasn't been made with either club.
But Chelsea have already wrapped up Ziyech and Werner though.

Thanks for making my point further. Theyve managed to wrap up some easy transfers before the season is done but not havent been able to for another player. Just like United are struggling with just one player, that player being the biggest signing of the summer.

The AS article was written by Miguel el Zorc. It's an obvious ploy by Dortmund to put pressure on United.

#Watzke : "There is now no more money for transfer fees. If you get 4 million in every game without a spectator. € loses, then you don't have to be a prophet to work out in which direction this is going. There are definitely no big jumps left. " #BVB

If they wanted us to pay up, there is no way we will now they've openly admitted that they are broke  fecking idiots!

The fans would burn Ed house to the ground this time if he could not deliver Sancho! This deal will go through! Just put yourself into Ed shoes and think about it.

I think the fee has already been agreed. Just media play to appease fans. With European competitions still going on, think this may held up a lot of activity. Plus, why pay Sancho's wages when he won't be training with us etc.

Surely no one can still believe this would happen. This interview makes it pretty fecking clear he's staying.
And yet, we can still be sure that a £108m offer will be accepted if we pay up.

Until Sancho comes out and caterogically states he's staying then there is still hope. Surely if it was set in stone then he would have no issue with coming out with some sort of statement to end the speculation.

Yeah, I guess Madrid have got loads to spend after buying a new stadium at the price of £1b, a massive wage budget and saving all their pennies for Mbappe next summer. Barcelona must have also convinced their whole squad to take massive pay cuts, because they’re wage budget is 90% of their turnover.

Glad to hear those two teams have finally sorted themselves out and decided to get involved

A bloke who is confident his wife isn't leaving him isn't going to be running around saying she loves him desperately to anyone who will listen, he just knows.

Exactly! Or a husband who is faithful to his wife doesn’t need to remind the world on a hourly basis how faithful he is.

He will say it if journalists flat out ask him "so mate, does your wife still love you or does she want to leave you?"

Also, let's face it, you're one of the Chief Muppets here. If Dortmund were completely silent, you'd take that as a good sign, too.

There's a bit more to it than that. Not all of those teams that you mentioned play beautiful, free flowing football or are in great places. I would be hesitant to move to either Barcelona or Real Madrid right now as, especially Madrid as (despite winning the league) they look in a bit of a mess on the field. I'm sure Sancho would look at players like Dembele (Barca), Bale and Hazard (Madrid) and think that maybe they're not making the most out of these talented players.

In all honesty, if he doesn't come to us this season, I could see him going to Bayern Munich next season or the season after, if he plans to stay in Germany for the long term, which is unclear. He will not be with Dortmund for the complete duration of his contract and they would be idiots to let him leave on a free eventually instead of cashing in on him. They will cash in on him eventually, especially if his performances are as good as they have been and continue to be.
Fair point about Barca and Madrid. I am not overly negative about Utd though. I just think that in recent years the club hasn't been particularly attractive to the best young players.

I hope that now we have the amazing Bruno, alongside a (hopefully) committed Pogba, some of the better players will genuinely see something they would like to be a part of.

 I think you do.

I've never known a transfer where so many people are publicly giving out high fives for a player supposedly staying with them. So many players and board members talking about Sancho and him being their player next season

They're (Dortmund) incredibly small time or they're trying to provoke a reaction

Which is it then Dortmund fans on here?

You really want an answer? Because the answer is actually pretty damn boring. They gave statements about Jadon Sancho because they were asked about him. Thats it. Every statement bar Zorcs declarations on this Monday were interview answers.

Why are there so many of them? Boring answer again: because of the timing. The training camp in Bad Ragaz is traditionally the time that sees the highest concentration of staff and player interviews in the season. It also makes sense that this is the the case. The whole squad and important personell is in the same place for a lengthy period of time. The reporters and journalists are there anyway to report about the development of the camp and the test games (the majority of the German ones stay the whole duration), so they use the downtime to conduct interviews.

If half a dozen players are asked about their opinion of Sancho staying, you get half a dozen statements. Not that they offer any meaningful unique inside. All statements are pretty much interchangable. All highlight Sanchos worth for the team and show delight that he sticks around at least one more season. Generic answers, but answers they had no reason not to give, just like when a year ago just as many players (I found seven seperate statements, all within 48 hours in a few minutes) commented positively on the signing of Julian Brandt. Turns out big news often find their way into interviews as topics and football journalists are not the most creative bunch when it comes to coming up with questions. Who would have thought?

There is an impressive construction job going on here: every little piece of communication coming from the club right now (in a time when there are an abundant amount of them) is put in relation and given a hidden meaning to the poker of signing Sancho.

- Players and staff commenting positively = propaganda to set the narrative and make United look bad!
- CEO repeating their stance about not signing any additional players becasue of lack of funds due to Corvid that is not news but known since the Bellingham transfer)= plea to United to up the offer and excuse to still sell!
- Clickbait articles by the Spanish boulevard=leaked by Dortmund to increase pressure!
- ANY reporting by the German sports press regarding Dortmund=fed directly by Dortmund!

You would think that all the officials are doing right now is sit in a darkened room, stroke cats in their arms and bounce off ideas off each other how to really stick it to United to provoke them.

In the end muppets gonna be muppets, but it is highly ironic how Borussia Dortmund gets slagged off for appearantly being smalltime and desperate while at the same time making everything Dortmund communicates or does revolve around the interest in Jadon Sancho of Manchester United and their attempts to sign him.

I would love to play cards with some of the caftards.

This may well be the deadest transfer saga of all time, literally nothing has happened other than repeated claims that the deal is dead and Jadon is staying over and over.

Chong > Werder

Rashica > Dortmund

Sancho > United

I can’t ever remember a club talking so openly about one side of a transfer when it’s not categorically fact a counterpart has made a bid.

The facts are he’s Dortmund’s player; they don’t have to sell but doing interviews with all & sundry about him going nowhere is overkill; if the transfer was a non-starter surely they need to move on.
