Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

I still can't see why £108 million is a bad deal especially when split into installments over time.

Dembeles fee if reports are accurate was a total potential of 145 million euros. Sancho's time at Dortmund far exceeds Ousmanes in terms of numbers and overall contribution. Considering the averages of high profile teenagers Sancho is certainly in the same bracket as Mbappe who moved for 180 million euros. 108 million is a good value to represent the level of talent Sancho has we are talking about one of the best forwards in Europe who is under the age of 21.

Chelsea
1. Ziyech (done)
2. Werner (done)

Man City
1. F Torres (done)
2. Ake (done)

Man Utd
1. Sancho (still loading...)

How many transfers have Liverpool, Juventus, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich made?

It’s going to be a bloody long summer for the likes you you!

Any deal that involves bringing the best young talent in Europe to your club is a good one.

I'd offer my mum just to sweeten this deal if that's what it took.

Aye, you got that right, especially with Ed negotiating the deal.

I’m not sure a player costing £100m and ‘bargain’ can come into the same sentence. It’s a crazy amount of money, especially post COVID. I’d love to see Sancho in a United shirt but it wouldn’t surprise me if we bulk at the price.

If hypothetically speaking he stays with us for 10yrs (optimistic I know) - consider the additional sponsorships / TV money / prize-money we could potentially be getting with his creative output for the club, then the word bargain can be used.

Jesus hope this doesn't drag on and on for weeks. City just got 2 transfers done in 2 days. No messing about with them, they most get more in before we strike a deal for Sancho.

Not sure why people feel a players value would be lesser because of Covid? If Covid has effected finances then you simply can't afford to spend, it shouldn't effect the value of something though

This so called brief that United are fed up of being bent over is bollocks as well, you don't go into a shop and haggle you pay the price or you don't get said item

I really don't see this getting done before the 10th and then it'll run and run till October not knowing whether Dortmund will still even be open to selling him

He's only 20 years old.

If Sancho's upward trajectory carries on the same path, the club would make their money back and most likely make a profit if after playing five years he decides to leave. He would be 25 and be at the peak of his profession. I've personally not seen him much as I don't follow German football, but I'm on board with all and sundry saying he's great.

It's because A) nobody cares and B) they have unlimited resources. Throw United in the mix and the prices go right up. We've seen it with multiple transfers.

It would cost the club interest on money borrowed and his salary. The asset (Sancho) would appreciate over the years, more so if United are successful in winning trophies.

Seriously, how many times is this crap spouted in this thread?! Ake came from a relegated team that pretty much had to sell and Torres came from a team struggling financially. They are not even on the same level of the Sancho deal.

They weren't done in 2 days either

What has the announcement of one deal got to do with the other?

Well confirmation that the deal is done means confirmation of wage budget along with other financial implications. Obviously when negotiations are still ongoing with Sancho the two relate. In addition it's something that's been seen as a barrier to us doing business; now a place in the squad is available, the number 7 is free and when he goes out the path is clear.

Just didn't seem feasible we'd announce Sancho with Sanchez on the books to me.

Does anyone think that if the deal was to happen, it won’t happen while we are in the Europe league. I mean who is he going to get greeted by at Carrington If he comes for a medical while the team is out in Germany still in the tournament! How’s the picture going to be taken with him shaking ole’s hand etc etc

They'd just do it in Germany? You're making up problems which are easily solved.

So you reckon that there might be a Sanchez to Sancho domino effect then

It’s not necessarily a team can’t spend if they are affected. It’s the fact that smaller teams HAVE to sell to balance the books. Their need to sell is higher than the bigger teams’ need to buy depending on desperate that selling club is. That’s why people think fees might be relatively cheaper than previous year.

Salary off the books?

I don’t doubt Sánchez going is good news for the Sancho pursuit, I just wasn’t sure why the actual announcement of the Sánchez news would make any difference given that apparently that deal has been done since earlier this week. I’d assume as soon as we knew he’d be going then we would have known how it helps Sancho. Just didn’t think the timing of the public announcement has anything to do with a Sancho deal.

Yeah I think there's a good possibility. I also don't think we'd want to announce two things together like that. I know it sounds petty but alot of the dick swinging going on is equally about who gets the best press so often things are timed to suit agendas.

I certainly think the Sanchez confirmation opens the door on our transfer business. We also tried to bottom Smallings move too but weren't successful. I'm sure all this being done now and we will then start our own work in proper.

I feel we will hear more on Sancho late tomorrow or Friday.

Friday hopefully it will be done. The new kit actually looks nice too, can’t wait!

Mata’s performance tonight strengthens our position in the negotiations. We can now easily threaten to back out if they don't reduce the asking price.

Laughed so hard at this

Not a surprise is it, after that performance, all of a sudden Bild telling us it's done. Dortmund caved in.
