Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

€17.6m per year before tax right? That would be just over €200k a week after which is what, £180k a week?
Salaries quoted in the UK are normally before tax, there are only handful of players in the EPL that earn €17.6m (before tax) or more from what I gather.

If we are paying him that I wonder what Fernandes will be after at his contract renewal. Right now Bruno is on less than Luke Shaw and Sergio Romero.

Bruno Fernandes has had a decent half season. You people are talking as if he’s Messi or Ronaldo like. I’m sure when he does renew he’ll get some decent wages but it doesn’t mean it will match whatever Sancho or w/e will be on. Sancho is also more likely to make money for the club. Different profiles, image rights, etc

Wait till you find out that "my friend has emotional issues and I went to console her" is code for "I went to visit my other boyfriend".

Then you give this asshole partner another chance and they proceed to break your heart once again. So you end things. Then you find out about the pregnancy and you get your hopes up about junior on the way.

Turns out junior isn't yours after all which absolutely shatters your world more than anything.

Now all you got is caftards and muppets.

Announce Sancho.

“18 years 18 years.”

Even if his pre-tax wage is that high, we should be steering well clear.

But I don't believe it's that level. No way we're going down that level of stupidity given nearly a decade of mediocrity on high wages.

Its pure lunacy given that Rashford, Martial, and Greenwood will now want the same.

On the other hand....300k a week may seem reasonable for top players in a couple of years, which if we're locking him into contract for 5 may at that point not seem so excessive.

The problem is that you have given players like De Gea a huge contract which means that every other player has leverage. Plus with the rise in wages over the past ten years it makes sense that the top players would be on it. It's reflective of the amount of money in football so it seems very excessive to us normal people but about right for the environment.

Wages very rarely end up being anywhere near as high as papers hype them up to be, especially regarding United.

Seen the first British ones now doing that usual thing of intentionally mixing up Pounds and Euros to make the figure seem even higher as well

Initially when wages were reported last month it said something he was going to earn 140k initially with it rising to 200k through the 5 years. So can’t trust reports regarding wages.

Starting to think the lad might not be so bad at football...

Both clubs are understood to be confident a deal to make Sancho the most expensive English player in history is nearing completion, with United expected to pay an initial €100m fee (£90m) over three annual instalments and a further €20m in performance-related add-ons. Dortmund would prefer to have the transfer completed by next week to help them bring in a replacement.

It is understood that Sancho, Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s key target, will earn about £250,000 a week – a significant rise on the five-year contract he signed at Dortmund in August 2019.

I don't want any gimmicks this time. No pianos. No stupid videos. Announce the deal when it's done and act like a proper football club not a Hollywood producer.

That's more than Martial, Rashford, and Greenwood earn combined. Expect all three of them to be after improved contracts if this proposed figure turns out to be correct.

Also, removing Sanchez from the roster is essential if we want to sign anyone else after Sancho this summer.

Reasonable. Doesn't seem like much now that Alexis is off.

Given he's still only twenty 250k a week must be a record for that age or close to a record. Maybe Mbappe beats him.

Lets hope he's a huge success and can earn more for us later on as that will hopefully bring us success.

No, that's as much as Rashford and Martial earns. Both have signed new contracts with much bigger wages.

United love being talked about and this is likely to be a British record transfer. They're clearly going to make a big deal about it.

There will probably be a short video like the Bruno one. Trident, dun dun dun, trident, dun dun dun, zoom into the club's badge, dun dun dun, zoom into the number 7, dun dun dun and finally Sancho appears wearing the jersey. With hashtag #7adonIsRed or #SanchoIsRed being put in the video. So predictable.

Since when? Seem to remember both Rashford and Martial being on similar wages of at least £200k/per...

Greenwood 's extension is surely going to see his wages doubled as well

Rashford alone is on £200 - £250k

While Alexis Sánchez’s basic salary of around £390,000 per week means he remains United’s highest earner, Rashford’s new salary is a basic £200,000-a-week but, with considerable incentives, should yield him more than £250,000 per week.
