I do not see why everyone is so confident over Sancho. My feeling is he does another year in Dortmund.

Dortmund is willing to sell him. They are making all the noises and not us. Once we qualify for CL, the deal will be done.

This is what Woodward likes. This will boost his ego. One who signed a super star in the making, same like Pogba. Sancho brings fans, advertisement, so on in addition to what he offers in the field.

Won't be that figure straight up,expect to see something in the region of £85m plus addons

So about 100m then including add ons? Just think it's too much personally. Don't think we will pay that. Play hardball and offer 80m and not a penny more and call their bluff. It sounds like he's been acting up a bit to force a move so we don't need to go that high.

How much does Sancho leave for next summer with just a year left? Sane just gone for 45m with a year left and I'd say the talent, position and age of the two players is very similar.

GetCL in the bag this week and then offer them £85m take it or leave it. That's a £35-40m hit they would be looking at if the refuse. Nobody is going to pay much more than 45m next summer surely. Not with only a year left on his deal.

110m in this climate is utter madness.

Agreed. I'd be more comfortable in the £60-£70m range. No guarantee BVB would sell at that price, but we've got to have the discipline to walk away from ridiculous valuations.

Think it would be closer to 80-85m but 100m is too much for me.

They arent just willing to sell him, they NEED to sell him. Their finances arent good.
If you look at the Sancho rumours heating up, it was not many days after Jude Bellingham was annouced.
They wouldnt even have afforded him without knowing Sancho money was coming.

CL or not doesnt affect this deal other than how the payments are structured.

Oh I’m sorry I didn’t know you were helping pay for the transfer. Hehe.
Well, we're all helping, in a way. If you just subscribe to Sky, you help all teams and in that case feck you, RDCR07, for assisting Liverpool getting Van Dijk.

Yeah I honestly believe he could well be a generational talent who is definitely worth spending big money on.

I am not going to compare him to Mbappe because Jadon still has to prove himself at that sort of level yet.

However he is just 20 years old and can see him being here for his best years and confident he will look a bargain in time.

You do realize that we still have a season to finish and that the transfer window isn't even open yet? We'll have until October to sign players.
You better send this over to Chelsea and City, tell them they can't be signing players right now and they need to wait until October.

Chelsea signed Ziyech in February after negotiating in the winter window, you could almost argue they were slow to not get him then.
They signed Werner now because of his release clause that was ending unless triggered when they did.

City hasn't bought anyone yet this summer as far as I know?

It's all speculation like we also have for Sancho, Grealish, Van De Beek, Koulibaly and more.

Chelsea have just agreed terms with Havertz and City are close to signing Ake. Waiting until October before signing anyone would be moronic.

The Benzema saga was the one that killed me personally.

I'll never forget it.
I dont know mate, but I feel Thiago broke me. It was an easy deal, made sense and cheap. Never recovered and my muppett heart was forever shattered.
Sneijder did me in then Hazard. Thiago ripped my heart out. Haven’t been the same muppet since.
Vidal was what broke me. I was in Italy to make it worse.
All of these especially since we were crying out for a CM and all these CM went for reasonable prices to other teams. We were suffering in midfield and only now recovering.

Sneijder was heart breaking as we needed to replace Scholes. Vidal to replace Keano. Thiago to replace Scholes/Carrick. They all just toyed with us.
Hazard is a p****. I will never forgive him. He said he was going to a Manchester club, we needed to replace Giggs and Chelsea were not even good at the time but got the jammiest CL victory. He then became a legend at their club and fecked us over so many games. I rarely wish for players to fail but Hazard.

And then there's Ronaldinho,. Hindsight will tell you Cristiano made up for it but not until 2007! After that world cup I honestly thought getting Ronaldinho would be like Cantona. I loved Jay Jay Ococha and revelled at the thought of Ronaldinho doing that to rivals. And then seeing how good he was at Barca, destroying Chelsea in the CL, taking them to the height of football, playing the best style (he basically became my fav player). It was the one that got away, every time I watched him. I watched Barca just for him. And he was supposed to be at United........sad

I was at school at that time so my hype and love of football was at its height. I imagined wearing Ronaldinho 10 on my shirt and playing down in powerleague 7 a side pitches. We ended up getting Kleberson who was supposed to make Ronaldinho's dinners or something and our Brazilian curse has never been lifted.

I think the Dybala thing broke me but Bruno made all that go away hes as good as Dybala if not better because of his workrate but before that I think it was Snijeder that really did me in

I think maybe we dodged a bullet with Ronaldinho South American players do not do well here for what ever reason Romero is the exception but hes a goalkeeper I was gutted at the time but looking back it was probably for the best. And as you say Ronnie made up for it big time

I don't know if we will get him, but Dortmund has to sell, in my opinion.

Not only that next summer Sancho will be in the last year of his contract and his price will drop, but we also don't know how long the corona pandemic will last. Playing in empty stadiums will have a big impact on every club's transfer budget.

And if you want to believe rumours we have agreed terms with Sancho, we just have to agree with the club on fee. Like Chelsea with Havertz.

Signing a player like Ake is "easy". And even we were linked him with after the last game. It does seem like any other transfer rumor.

There's less than a week to go to the end of the season. Never said we had to wait until October, but when it's squeaky bum time there's little value in distracting our current players by making them question their futures due to incoming players, when they have to focus on delivering in the last two games.

EL comes as a bonus, and also matters less as long as the players deliver the goods this week.

Every time Dortmund are asked they keep saying "meet our price" rather than "not for sale"

All the journalists are saying he wants to leave and return to England. The only way this doesn't happen is if we refuse to pay the price they want, but Dortmund know they will not want an unhappy player for another year, and an asset that will drop significantly if he isn't playing.

I was wondering something. If you think 100m is to much and want us to walk away from the deal. Imagine what you will say when sancho ends up as a superstar in some other top club. We walked away from other similar deals for example hazard because of the money. I don't want to see that again.

Hindsight does not factor. At the time, the very moment and years after it still hurt. There is no rule that South Americans can not play at United. Its nonsense. we just made bad choices at the time. United have very few memorbale African signings. does not mean we should not go for African players.

Juninho and Emerson, Angel, Tony Valencia, Macherano, Tevez, Asprilla, Crespo, Coutinho, Willian, Ramires, Lucas, Robinho (at the start), David Luiz, Edu, Oscar, Solano, Poyet, Alexis Sanchez, Zabaleta, Gilberto Silva, Suarez, Aguero., Ederson, Da Silva Brothers, Fred, Heinze

All these players were South American and performed in the league. It works for others so can work for us. the bolded ones of the above were decent for United too.

Muppetiers saying it is done. Only medical, paperwork and contract signing left. Another is saying it'll be concluded by 28th.

Obviously they'll be able to cover themselves as they can say it's done but not announced etc. Always wriggle room.

But for what it's worth, they've said for months it'll be done by early August and we want it done before Europa League.

People don't like these 'itk' and I get that. But they seem to have been good with this one.

So... let’s say it gets done. What are the odds on the United SOME-admin think it’ll be funny to make a “Welcome to Manchester” post/wallpaper?

Why? Can he play in it?

Almost that time fellow muppets...

I don't trust the ITK's on Reddit after last summer, But I seriously doubt they would make this up to be honest, I hope it's true as well, I want us to get our signings done early this summer as well.

They were good with Maguire and the James deal too.

It mixed with the "Sancho is homesick" stuff from Yesterday and the various increasingly confident media reports on it make me more and more sure it's done.

He can play equally well on either flank and no.10. That’s what makes him such a special player, IMO. I’ve seen him have amazing performance on the right and that’s where he has played for England too.
What's this notion with number 10? He literally never played there. Borussia played 3-4-3 and he was one of the attackers operating a bit more centrally, but you can hardly call it a number 10. There's much more to be a number 10 than just be creative. Like Bruno showed you need elite off the ball movement and work ethic. Sancho does not have neither of those.

He has scored 20 goals and 20 assists this season, the only 2 player who can get 20+ figure in both goals and assists (the other one is Messi).
And he is only 20 years old too, thats 20 goals and 20 assists for a 20 year old. Do you people really think Dortmund is willing to sell him to us for a discount price? - No fecking way.

100m is already a very good discount. Just offer Dortmund straight 100m cash, to show our determination and respect. Don't feck this up.

English, only 20 years old, 20 goals + 20 assists, playing in a big club already - this deal will be close to £100m plus add-ons - anything less is nonsensical.

There are steady rumours that United are offering £80m, whereas Dortmund, quite rightly, are holding out for another £20m.

If Kai Havertz is worth £70m in today's economic climate, and Chelsea (seemingly) aren't hesitating to splash that cash, I don't know why Sancho shouldn't be worth £100m.

£90m plus add ons up to £115 (i.e. Sacho or the club achieve any of 25 goals [player clause - £5m], PL winners [club clause - £10m], CL semi-finalists [club clause - £10m] over the first 3 years of his contract). Get 'er done, Ed.

What concerns me about Sancho and happy to be proved wrong but he is predominantly a left sided attacker, that's where his better stats have come from correct? Rashford gets the LW for England meaning they currently rate him higher. I've seen so many say it would be nice to have Rashford "Off the bench...", I don't see it, Rashford is our LW and Martial is our CF, we need a RW.

At Right Wing is he the best option or would someone like Feran Torres or another be a better option?
Nope. He's played on both sides and produced fantastic numbers. Generally leans more to him being a better creator/assister from the right and a better goalscorer from the left. Eye test backs that up for me. Torres is a lovely player but I don't know how stats can be an argument for him, he has very minimal productivity this season.
