This is from Ruhr Nachricten (Watzke's mouthpiece)
- Borussia Dortmund is negotiating from a comfortable situation, despite the effects from the corona crisis. And BVB is unwilling to move even an inch away from its ideas.
- A corona discount, managing director Watzke said last week, will not be given to Jadon Sancho, "not a euro". According to information from Ruhr Nachrichten, Borussia Dortmund has now deposited the framework conditions for a transfer with the only real interested party, the red devils. Manchester United are informed that Sancho may switch for a fixed amount of 120 million euros this summer.
- No other serious prospects for the 20-year-old shooting star have knocked on the door in Dortmund. Chelsea are out of the race after investing in Timo Werner, Liverpool are apparently more focused on strengthening the defensive midfield and have targeted Bayern's Thiago. And a return to Manchester City three years after saying goodbye with some noise, after Sancho unilaterally terminated his training contract, the almighty coach Pep Guardiola has already classified as not smart and advisable.
- The position of the player is still open towards Dortmund. Sancho's father is said to have been at the office in Dortmund in June. The club has so far received no signals that Jadon Sancho wants to leave BVB at any cost.
- Dortmund want it done before August 10th. If he even gets on the plane to Bad Ragaz, he's staying at Dortmund.
It was a bad 5 minutes in the middle of 11 clean sheets in 16 games. My mind was certainly more on an Allison and Van Dijk scenario than any shiny new forwards as I watched that spectacle yesterday.

Feels like they always play this game to maximize value on their sales. They don't wanna give a corona discount
They won't wanna give a last year discount
A lot of noise for a club not wanting to sell
We still have DDG and two young up and coming keepers. A new CB is something we need but all the clubs are in for one this summer so prices will get inflated there. My mind was certainly more on an Allison and Van Dijk scenario than any shiny new forwards as I watched that spectacle yesterday.
Don’t get me wrong, I still want us to buy himWe're one injury away at the moment. Sancho is young, he's English, he's incredibly talented and eminently marketable. It's ticks all the right boxes.

Distinctively remember very similar comments before the likes of Dembele, Mkhitaryan, Aubameyang and Pulisic were sold.
Yeah, considering the pandemic situation and the fact that we seem to have more problems in other areas right now. We should get someone for the right side of the attack to add squad depth and competition, but I don't think it will be at such a cost.I don't think this will go through. No way we are spending at least 100m for a player.
Honestly we should play complete hardball. We now can demonstrate a lack of need (thank you Mason). Sancho won't sign a new deal. Lowball them at £50m. Stick to our guns and take him in Jan/ for free next year if they won't budge.
We can then focus on signing a player for the defence in the summer and pick up Sancho for a good price. For once I want Woody to play the long game.
The problem with this approach is that it's firstly reliant on Greenwood starting pretty much every game next season and continuing to improve. 1 injury and the season could be over for us. Sancho also has 2 years left on his contract, so he won't be available for free next summer. They're reportedly asking for €120m which is fairly reasonable (at least it was prior to the impact of coronavirus on the market). Sancho has performed at world class levels this season and if he was playing for us we would certainly not be looking to sell him for even less than €200m.Honestly we should play complete hardball. Can someone explain why Dortmund would sell less than 120m when their tier 1 has already said the price is fixed? If they sell less wouldn't that show people that they are weak in negotiations?
This, They ain't going to budge. Ruhr Nachrichten are about as solid a source you can get for BVB, besides official club channelsI doubt they would sell below €120m, their stance is always basically pay up or he stay for another year. Dortmund always got the fee they wanted and could easily create a bidding war for Sancho in the summer 2021.
It's just like when Simon Stone said we are not selling Pogba unless they pay the price we want and people believed that. Add that to the fact that Dortmund has a history of not budging from their price tag. Why are people now thinking Dortmund would lower their priceThis, They ain't going to budge. 'They want clarity by the beginning of August' which is a telling line IMO. Watzke is a stubborn so and so and history tells us he will stick to his guns. We will have to pay up if we want him for the 2020/21 season.

Does Greenwood's recent form bring a rethink into this transfer and it's possibility ? I really do not think we will pay 100m for a player and it makes sense, as much as I want Sancho, he is 20 years old and only has 1.5 years left on his contract and could be nabbed at half that price in 1 more season, i also think there's more important or equally important positions to be sorted currently so wouldn't want us to put all of our eggs or most of the eggs into the right winger basket.
It will be a very interesting summer.
Which will hurt us IMO.Woodward is also stubborn when it comes to this, and I cannot see him paying 120m for Sancho in this climate especially he knows next summer Sancho can be have for around half that.

But if we can structure a deal to sign him then we should push the boat out alittle because it will close the gap on the leaders (L'pool, City) as far as matching them attack for attack.
Then we don't get the player, simple as. I would have thought that we have learned our less re our struggles pre Bruno and how good we have been since then. Next season City, Liverpool and Chelsea won't remain stationary and if we don't also improve we could struggle again.Woodward is also stubborn when it comes to this, and I cannot see him paying 120m for Sancho in this climate especially he knows next summer Sancho can be bought for around half that.
