This is the same as any of the transfers we've had. Look at Maguire and Bruno transfers

Interesting...
Not just the loss of match-day revenue, the refunds we have had to make, the loss of broadcasting revenue, potential rebate. The list is endless. Will we? Is our match day revenue that high that we'd lose more than £100m? Our commercial deals have hardly been affected.
Why? Wouldn't our sources of revenue be different from Dortmund? They may well rely on match day revenue more than we do. I'm sure we have chunks of regular sponsorship revenues that might make our balance sheets more defensive?Would be surprised if ours ins't more than double that amount.

Malang?
Its no "noise" or "signal", its just the normal anually buisiness-report coming out at the end of every june in every year. All the noise coming out of Dortmund just sounds as if they are signalling that they are ready to deal.
Hopefully. Any summer without a new top starting RW for us is a failureDortmund are definitely going to cave in to accepting a lower offer.
They have to otherwise he has a year left on his contract going into next season. This summer is the last chance for big money on him.Dortmund are definitely going to cave in to accepting a lower offer.
I‘m not revering to your loss of 45mil. More the comments on Sancho and how they don’t think someone can afford him.Its no "noise" or "signal", its just the normal anually buisiness-report coming out at the end of every june in every year.
I guess the board keeps in mind that we got 60 Million for a Pulisic with only one year left and he was mostly sitting on the bench that season. No reason to hurry here. They have to otherwise he has a year left on his contract going into next season. This summer is the last chance for big money on him.
That can be true. Wise strategy when one of your prey is a desperate Woodward who is well know for overpaying and speaking about war-chests. Perfect situation for getting as much as they can for Sancho. If you don't get the offer you want, wait a year more, got all the cards.I‘m not revering to your loss of 45mil. So like I said they are signalling they want to deal. Basically serving Sancho up and saying if you want him come pay for him. That can be true. If you don't get the offer you want, wait a year more, got all the cards.
Did you have 45m losses with more expected next year with a collapsed transfer market?I guess the board keeps in mind that we got 60 Million for a Pulisic with only one year left and he was mostly sitting on the bench that season. No reason to hurry here.
Lets hope we don't have to wait till Jan
The only reason its still 100m is because its the remnants of pre pandemic days. Imagine next summer after another year of losses without a cure in sight.
Its all on this summer imo
Didn't know he was a free agent this summer. Very interesting.
We will do our usual of haggling throughout the whole window.
We will then either pay an inflated price for him on the last day or we will get ourselves into the usual situation of panic buying/ buying no one right at the end of the window. We wont have identified alternatives in case we cant afford him.
Out of interest what do we think his shirt sales would be like? And advertising revenue from him? Is he like Pogba/ Dybala where they have other commitments that make them harder to sort a deal with? Would we easily and quickly recoup his fee through him being an asset?
The other risk we have is if like what happened to us with Ronaldo in someone like Real Madrid coming in and giving Liverpool and offer they cant refuse and taking Salah and or Mane then they will probably be in for Sancho as well and have more attractiveness at this moment in time. They may not be able to afford him now but if they get a huge fee for Mane or Salah they then have that to spend. Another reason we need to just get on with it if the money is there. If we need to wait on sales that's worrying as the deadwood will take a while to shift. If Jones could stay fit he could be useful for a smaller PL club. I think that is the problem with him especially aside from the errors he can do, he cant stay fit and the smaller clubs dont have the strength in depth we do so they would need him available, ready to be used which they cant guarantee with him.
I've got a nasty feeling Jlingz will be given a new contract
Sanchez I'd possibly try a swap plus fee with Ighalo's Chinese club as they would presumably be able to pay him near what we do in wages. While Ighalo isnt world class he is at least more useful to us than Sanchez and will be excellent for the cups especially as Martial is made of glass.
Pereira and Smalling we *should* be able to shift but how much from sales do we need to be able to go towards Sancho's cost? Eg what percentage of his price do we still need to make up? If it's most of it we can probably forget it. The only other hope is we can possibly force more out a PL club for the likes of Jlingz as English players seem to have a mark up.
Like others have said some of the smaller Spanish sides will hopefully be interested in Pereira but what are his wages like?
As an aside what is Sancho's attitude like? Can we definitely say Ole will want him given his mission to root out bad apples and have a better squad mentality? Could Chelsea still try for him?
Also if we dont get CL would he be willing to take a year away from it with the aim of helping us get back in it for the following season? Would he be able to make the step up to the harder PL league?
I think CL qualification is a big one as will presumably also bring extra money which we are possibly depending on to be able to afford him.
100m pound is what? 120m euros? Its not far off!Pre pandemic, his evaluation was approaching 150m. If you got him for 100m now, it'd already be a big discount
They'll cash in this summer, because there's no way they'll be able to get more next year and they know it.
Agree, and in a pre COVID world you'd still get at least £80m for Sancho in the last year of his contract, I'm not sure that still stands at the moment though. Will be interesting to see how this all unfolds in the next couple of months.I guess the board keeps in mind that we got 60 Million for a Pulisic with only one year left and he was mostly sitting on the bench that season. No reason to hurry here.
The only thing may be his England place for the eurosI reckon that the likelihood of him seriously pushing for the move to happen this summer is high, he’s got nothing left to gain from staying at Dortmund.
They won’t be able to challenge for anything major under the current conditions and it’ll be hard for him to match the season he’s just had.
That was a sum invented due to Barca’s panic buying of Dembele. He was never going to go for the same price as he or Mbappe. 100-110mil was probably more the realistic fee and that seem to be around what Dortmund are trying to stick at. Maybe that will be the fee but I can see Ed trying to get it done for 80 mil and this dragging the whole window till someone budges.Pre pandemic, his evaluation was approaching 150m. If you got him for 100m now, it'd already be a big discount
For everyone saying ‘they will definitely sell this summer as they will get less next summer’, are people forgetting they are actually a Football team, that plays football? It isn’t as simple as that, if they sell him for £20m less next summer, it is not a loss, they have also realised an extra £20m of value by having a footballer called Jadon Sancho playing in their attack for another season. He will be worth less, financially, but he’ll also strengthen their team until he goes.
The Times isn’t reliable and it’s behind a paywall so I can’t even read it.
The first part of your post makes sense, but then you want us to cheap out on a bunch of players nowhere near good enough to start? The more time pass the less I want Sancho at United this year. The fee asked is beyond ridiculous especially in this buyer's market and the last thing we need to do is to blow our entire budget on a 20 year old who plays at a team that makes everybody look good and who is hyped by fans as the second coming of the Christ.
So I'd say lets make a personal deal with Sancho possibly for next year and let's turn to other targets instead.
a- In reality we need two RWs so I'd say Chiesa would be a great signing. He'll play as a first teamer next season and act as cover/competitor for Sancho the season next. Chiesa can play as RW, LW and Stk which would provide us with great versatility.
b- Sarr (free transfer) and Salisu (12m) should be signed which would allow us to let Smalling, Jones and Rojo go.
c- VDB would be a great signing for us
Thanks for this wise post. One example was already made: The board decided to let run down Lewandowskis contract instead of selling him to Bayern a year before cause the sum they offered was to little and having Lewandowski in your team for one more year was more value to the club than the sum Bayern wanted to pay.For everyone saying ‘they will definitely sell this summer as they will get less next summer’, are people forgetting they are actually a Football team, that plays football? Big difference selling your main striker to your main rival and selling Sancho to the premier league though. Not the best example. Either way I don’t think we will get him anyway, unless we fork out £100m. Regardless, Dortmund will still function and still finish 2nd with or without Sancho. Thanks for this wise post. That’s not really similar though. Lewa was in his last year of his contract and you were probably offered peanuts. Thanks for this wise post. I think we'll pay around 80 mil and some additional performance based add--ons taking it closer to 100m.
