Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

I dont think this transfer will happen. Were not going to spend transfer money on one player. I think its Jack Grealish and 1 more for this summer and offload 3 or 4.

After reading recent comments from Woodward, Solskjaer and now Watzke I think it’s wise to prepare ourself for a summer without Sancho on the 2020 shopping list.
Solskjaer and Woodward have given mixed messages tbf and Watzke is saying exactly what a selling club would say to maximize their investment.

I"m done with this Sancho bullshit. Dortmund don't have any money and are looking to do a deal of a similar magnitude as Dembele so that they can invest. I think we should spend 70m on Havertz whose also referred to as a generational talent. I've always thought that a left footed RW would suit us better. Should have gotten Mahrez when we had the chance. Either way, I know Sane is looking to move back to Germany but I would like us to try with a 50m bid for Sane. The guy could be a great fit for us....

Why? Unlike the others we might actually get a transfer fee for him that’s more than 10m but he’s still a far better option than Jones, Rojo and Bailly in my view. Think the others on that list are far more deserving of the chop.
Of course Smalling is better than them, but he doesn't want to come back just as a squad option if he's got other good clubs like Roma who want him as a starter.

So dramatic, transfer window isn't even open yet and it's a massive deal that will take a while to be structured. I know Bundesliga defenses aren't the best but the kid is 20 and producing unprecedented numbers for his age on the left and right.

Havertz doesn't play RW by the way, apparently half the people on the Caf think he can just because he's left-footed. He doesn't fit into our current team at all unless we were to sell Pogba and play him or Bruno deeper. Lovely player though.

Agree we should have gone for Mahrez when we had the chance, unbelievable how badly our RW has been neglected. City will never sell us Sane.

Bizarre take. It’s so clearly on.

Sancho would be a perfect signing for us but if I take away my red tinted glasses recent comments indicates that this transfer looks increasingly unlikely.

Look at the numbers from our latest financial report and do the maths. We will not splash a newly taken credit on transfers, that’s our security money if the pandemic continues longer then expected.

If we buy any of Grealish or VdB I’m perfectly comfortable with such a move. I don’t expect Woodward or the Glazers to leave their comfort zone in times like this. Sorry guys but in this case I’m pessimistic.

That's awfully chatty for a club that apparently doesn't want to sell and apparently does not need to sell either :wenger:
I am looking on that like this. They value him around 100mil. So if they need money they will sell someone else and wait for 100mil. But nobody will spend 100mil in this situation especially now when it is pretty certain that covid will be back in winter.

The only thing which confuses me is that Sancho has only two more years of contract. So next summer Dortmund will need to sell him in half price so why are they so cocky with that 100mil or nothing?

Still not seeing anything concrete. Dortmund are a selling club so their stance is always to sell when the price is right. It is about us paying what is required. Dying to see someone reliable report that we are willing to do what it takes or even engage Dortmund.

This isn’t happening this summer......unfortunately Dortmund, like many other clubs know that they can pull Woodward’s pants down and royally shaft him......at least they could in the past.....

Unless Sancho comes out and says I’want to leave’ then this will just be a flirting exercise over the summer.....he either needs to be told to do that (like Real Madrid do with players every year) in order to force the issue - if not we need to pull out early and go elsewhere......the last thing I want is for us to be flirting with this all transfer window - and getting screwed at the end and missing out on everything else along the way

If they are asking ridiculous money then walk away at the outset and move on

Please Ed - don’t get mugged off yet again

Blah Blah Blah..... transfer window not open. How many deals have Chelsea gotten done or negotiated prior to the transfer window opening?

I guess I wasn't clear. I didn't want us to go for Havertz for the RW but instead the AM, SS role. If we aren't getting Sancho, I would atleast make sure to capture the other generational talent. We are light weight on the striker side as is.....

As for the RW, if we can't get Sane, there's also Leon Bailey to consider.

So you think Havertz is going to sign somewhere that he's used as a rotation option? You don't sign a 70m player and use him as a rotation option.

Sane is miles better on the left as well. When he was fit it was Sterling right and Sane left as traditional wingers.

Dortmund are gagging to sell Sancho at a high price, but that's nothing new. The way things are, they'll be regretting not being open for offers last summer.

I doubt it's a bluff from our side, we're well interested in Sancho and we've spent plenty of time trying to make sure that everything is in place, only to be screwed over by a disaster that means it's impossible to state our financial position a year from now. I reckon there's feck all chance we're going to spend a fortune on someone this summer

I never said he did? I objected to someone saying that Smalling (who’s not even at the club at the moment), out of a list of himself, Sanchez, Jones, Lingard and Pereira is the one who is stinking out the place. He’s comfortably the least dead of that deadwood group.

Kinda get the feeling this is another Griezmann situation where if it doesn't happen this summer when the conditions couldn't be more favorable for us,it'll never happen.

Next summer Dortmund will have almost no choice but to sell if he still wants out or else risk losing him for free and I'm fairly certain we won't be the only club willing and capable to get him in like we are now due to the uncertainty brought on by the pandemic.

We have a rare free run this window if we really want him at all costs which I believe we should given its been over a decade since we had any real attacking threat from the right and how much it would compliment the young talent we presently have...

If dortmund hold out this summer there will be loads of teams interested next summer for a reduced price . The time is now to cash in . If Sancho doesn't perform as well next season the price falls again . Now is the optimum time to sell and move on with Reyna .

The conditions couldn't be more favourable? The global economy is taking a massive hit and everyone's uncertain about their financials. There's a reason Watzke said he doesn't think anyone can afford him this year.

Yeah I absolutely agree with you that it is this summer or not at all due to the fact there will be too much competition, I am trying very hard to remain positive we can still get this deal done but can understand there is a lot of pessimism about this one due to the big money involved.

I keep telling myself that these quotes about it being difficult to do business in this market is just our way of telling Dortmund that we are not going to be ripped off for Sancho and purely a negotiating tactic to lower the price, however I am wavering a bit at the moment on whether or not that is the case. I was convinced that this was going to be a series of instalments type deal but certainly not heard anything reliable to suggest that as of yet.

I cannot see Sancho still being there next season not after the disciplinary issues this season, he'll 100% make it clear he wants to leave

I wouldn't be at all surprised if he stayed another year, but i think he will eventually leave this window and most likely to you lot. Dortmund i think are in a situation where if he stays, great, but if he brings us £100m, even better. Especially as he seems to be a a bit of a nuisance to them lately outside of football

If I had to put £100 down now on where Sancho goes if he leaves.. it'd be £65 Utd £35 Liverpool. If Klopp gets any indication the deal can be done, he will be in the mix with Utd.

Liverpool cant afford him.

Thats why yous got werner

If we can't get a deal then we should just go for who they want as his replacement. They've been linked with Ferran Torres

Seriously?

Leroy Sane has made it clear that he wants to go back to Germany. Man City don’t want him to leave and I’m sure they have already turned down a bid from Bayern Munich for him. If they’ve turned down an offer from Bayern (who Sane wants to join) then do you honestly think they would even contemplate, let alone entertain any offers from us out of all clubs? No feckin chance!

As for Leon Bailey, well the least said about him the better.

Just feck it and get Traore. As least he's proven he can do in this country, wouldnt need time to potentially settle etc.

Dortmund can keep twinkling their toes only to get a cut price amount next year, with his contract almost up.

I don't like how we dally (though we have no idea what's happening behind the scenes) with most transfers either, but come the feck on its a 100 mil deal when we're not at our greatest financial strength. I don't like the Glazers or Ed either by the way, but saying 'sick of the Sancho nonsense, let's go sign someone else' is just petulant impatience.

Ah, the classic 'look at other teams'. Werner had a release clause so there was nothing to negotiate. Ziyech was signed back in January. Literally no other big club has done anything.

Leon Bailey don't kill me :wenger: Still living off one good season three years ago, not ready for United at all. He's talented, but comparing his and Sancho's output in the same league when Bailey is two years older is pretty much all you need to know about that.

I am pretty sure Dortmund wants to sell maybe at a lower valuation e.g. 80 mil but who is willing to buy even with a 20% discount. The fact is global economy getting worse. Big global companies are dropping advertising on social media, FB and Twitters share price has taken hit. I prefer 80 mil for 3 players. I hope our scouts are working overtime to spot these players. Norwich might have a couple of players that suits us e.g. Geoffrey since they are going down. Nobody is spending silly money at this time.

If he joins I will leave the caf permanently for the whole of next season (some probably happy with that) but I’m here to stay because I’m confident he isn’t coming.

I find it funny how they say Solskjaer’s been “ordered” by the board to sell first before he can buy as if he wants to keep hold of everyone and add signings on top of that. Or course he wants rid of all the deadwood it’s finding a buyer for these players some of which are on fecking insane wages i.e Sanchez!
apart from Sanchez every other player there is on reasonable wages

The full quotes from Dortmund make it pretty clear they are refusing to budge on their valuation, which seems to be consistent with the reports that have come out.

Only way I see this happening is if we sell first and pay what they want.

Either way, I hope we make a decision soon, so we have enough time to negotiate deals for alternative options, if required.

Last thing we need is going into another season with that side being an issue.

Excuses.... more excuses.... you sure you're not one of Ed's PR agents on this forum. Just kidding...
I think our board could do a better job starting the negotiations much earlier. I mean it's a common fact that we take way too much time to close out a deal.

Leon Bailey is only 22 years of age. Obviously Leon is no match for Sancho whose been doing great. But like I suggested, I think a left footed RW would fit our side better.
