Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

Unless Jadon really has his heart set on Manchester United being his next club then I’ll be fine with that too and will wait. But if he doesn’t then the risk of waiting next summer is that that other clubs may show a lot more interest in him too and be prepared to match or outspend us for him.
People said that last year and wr are still front runners.
If anything well be in a better spot next season with more hardship in the market.

If we go into the 6th straight season without a real right sided forward I will go insane, it's an absolute joke that a club of our stature hasn't had a natural player there for so long. I feel if we wait until next summer he'll get snapped up by Real for cheap. I understand it'll be an extremely hard deal to do in the current financial situation, but I also think it's our last real chance for a clear run at Sancho. Wonder how receptive Dortmund would be to an installment plan over many years, probably going to ask for a lot of add-ons as well.

It'll drag on all summer whatever happens. Truly praying for this one, would be a huge miss given how perfect the fit is

Dortmund are having a laugh if they want 100m+ for someone so unprofessional.

Many people in here were saying the same during Kane's breakout season...

Sancho is playing abroad and apparently quite likes the idea of coming back to the PL and he also has only 1 year left on his deal next summer.

Some fans on here and too busy with fifa and football manager to stand back and realise the situation. This summer window will be different to any we've ever seen for a long old time. We will be losing shed loads of cash too like everyone else. There's no big deals happening this summer in my opinion meaning Sancho will be staying put.

Our season could even finish and the new one could start after a week or two the way things are going.

Madrid paid 100m+ for a near 30 year old Hazard in the last months of his contract that was in worse shape just last summer...

The 19 year old coming off a 2 month layoff will be fine

Who started on the bench due to a calf problem, so won't have been training properly in the build up to games restarting either.

What if We don't sign anyone else but him this summer? so the squad will be the exact same + Sancho next season. I think that is better than buying 2-3 players that are not world class.

Or feck it, use the budget for 2022 for this transfer as well. So We will most likely buy only 1-2 decent players in the next season's transfer window, while We try to move on Sanchez.

Pedro and Willan are definitely leaving, Ziyech is most likely going to play in the attacking midfield role, even if he plays as a winger chelsea will still only have 3 wingers, 2 being very young.
Chelsea also need a marquee signing since Hazard left, and it will make sense for Chelsea to go all out for Sancho.
It will make sense for Chelsea to spend big on a striker, or a LB or a CB. Wing is maybe 4th priority for them. Ziyech, CHO and Pulisic isn't a good enough selection for them to not need to spend £80m+ when other areas need work.

Let's face it, his career is basically over.

Striker and CB are not really a priority with Giroud set to sign for another year, Lampard also highly rate Tammy so I can see Chelsea getting an ageing cheaper option like Mertens for the time being.
Chelsea have 4 young promising CB in Tomori,Christensen,Rudiger and Zouma, with Ampadu progressing well on loan at RB Leipzig.
LB and winger are top priority with one of Alonso or Emerson leaving, and with the recent serious injuries to Pulisic and Odoi.

probably a cover for turning up overweight and unfit tbh. He played 10 minutes and ran around fine, just looked a bit chubby.

I guess he didn't expect the season to get back so soon and let himself go a bit.

He seems to have contacts within Sancho's camp,he was the first journo and source to report that he'd be on the bench against Schalke over the weekend

One thing that might be pushing us is that any advantage we have of signing him will probably be gone next summer.

Looks like the board finally woke up!

Woodward needs to get the check book ready!

I think all this noise about SANCHO alternatives was a preliminary step before we made contact with BVB again. They need to accept the fact that we’re probably the only genuinely interested buyer at the moment but we won’t be bullied into paying the asking price post covid.
They’re also better off receiving anything higher than his price next season + the wages they’ll have paid for another year (which will now seem substantial considering football will be played BCD at least for a year until a vaccine is produced).

I also think BVB won’t rush bringing SANCHO back into the starting 11 unless he’s proper ready. Any injury could hurt his market value.

You keep hearing people on the caf talking about how it's not going to happen because it the current situation but there are reliable sources always saying we want him this summer

I think this will be the only saving grace that despite everything economically going on if we can afford him this summer the cost of missing out would be potentially losing him to Real Madrid etc

Nou_Camp99 will be outraged by these posts and will be along to correct them imminently!

Yes but if the payment can be broken down over the next few years and we can offset the upfront payment by getting rid of some our deadwood than he surely is affordable.

It's this year or never most likely.

Remember Girezmann? A lot changes in football in a year.

To me we can't pass it up. We have been a million seasons without a player who can play on the right side to a decent level let alone a top level.

If we risk waiting a season we may end up with no good options next year too.

I predict if/when we choose not to sign him we will end up regretting it within a year.

Hopefully we have learnt but that remains to be seen.

I agree. Tbh there’s no other options that are as good as SANCHO in all aspects. This is the perfect time to buy him. At his age and with his skill, whatever price we’ll end up paying this year will end up feeling like a bargain over the course of the next 5/10 years that he could spend with us. His jersey sales alone will us redeem a substantial amount of the transfer fee just like in Pogba’s case.

Teams like PSG, Liverpool, City and Madrid (who aren’t currently in a desperate need to fill his position) could be interested in signing him next season if they lose one of their stars to another team (Mbappe to Madrid, Salah/Mane to Barca/Madrid, City coming back in for him, etc). Even Chelsea might have the funds to tease him into coming back to London instead of Manchester.

It’s a deal we need to do now. Not because of any ‘team x may get him instead’ - but simply for ourselves. I think we are potentially in a very strong position to challenge for the league title next season, especially if we get him. Injuries and the time it took for Ole to implement his vision were not kind to us this year - but we have shown we can mix it with anyone. We’ve beaten many of the top sides, and the times we haven’t, we have been severely hamstrung by injuries to some of our best players.

With Sancho alone, so long as injuries are kinder to us than our rivals, I believe we can win the title next season.

It makes me wonder wouldnt Sancho and his camp know this? Why rush and come to United that hasn't been one of the best when you can just stay in your good Dortmund team for 1 more year and wait for the best to come for you. It makes me think that we have already convinced him to join us

I was just putting things into perspective but yes all reasons indicate a dire necessity to sign him this season.

The glazers need to see the bigger picture and realize they will earn a lot more by spending in the short term even if the pandemic has made that difficult.

Sancho will be like a galactico signing and not only will his jersey sales help but his addition will boost our value in other aspects as well. Our share price will probably drive up and our results (which should improve drastically with him in the team) will ensure CL qualification for the next few years on a constant basis.
Add to that winning the league as you have mentioned + any other trophies.

Hasn’t been one of the best* will not matter to him as much since Dortmund isn’t a giant level club as compared to us.
Surely wearing the #7 for England’s biggest club (who obviously wont be far off from the top for too long based on our financial muscle), will be of better worth to him as well as being back home. Home sickness is a real thing.

He must also be aware of the team we’re putting together and how that will work to his benefit as compared to going to one of the other giants where he isn’t guaranteed a role that he’ll be able to play with us.

I agree with this. Obviously there's a lot of talk about how an attacking unit featuring Bruno, Pogba, Rashford, Martial, Sancho and Greenwood could excel for a whole string of seasons. But the important thing in football is always the season in front of you, and that group of players should immediately be challenging for the title.

Football is not about to disappear, and nor are the huge broadcasting revenues. But it is about to become more precarious, possibly for quite some time. We are lucky enough to find ourselves on an upward trajectory. Liverpool are proof that when you're on that upward trajectory it only takes a handful of good decisions to rapidly get yourself back on top of the pile. Sancho feels like exactly that kind of decision, possibly much in the same way VVD was for Liverpool. A key missing puzzle piece.

You literally suggested that Liverpool, Madrid and City could lose their stars and need him which would guarantee him a role. And these days a player go to a Madrid/Liverpool/City side that needs you over United that needs you

I agree with this, and how it should be sold to him.

This is a young team, players who hes played with at International level. From the outside looking in, it seems the perfect fit. Sancho, Martial, Rashford, Bruno, Pogba and Greenwood. That front 6 could be together 6 years and dominate English football.

I feel we have been building this team, from December where we looked a million miles off, we are suddenly 2 signings away from competing imo.

In your head or in real life?

Looks like this deal isn`t as unlikely as the negativity spreading ABUs here are suggesting as per the RELIABLE and IN THE KNOW Ornstein is saying. Anyway if it does happen it`ll be similar to what Barca did with Dembele 80-90m Euros up front with add ons taking it to the 120m Euros BVB are asking for. Pandemic or no pandemic nobody can convince me 80-90m Euros is too big a figure for Utd that`s less than what we paid for Pogba fffss plus we`ve been on Sancho`s tail for a while we won`t immediately walk away without a serious push.

Good to hear one of the more reliable sources talking about this potential deal rather than just someone like The Star or Express who I would just ignore straight away

Really, really, really want this one to happen. Next year will be too late. We will lose out again.

The money will be spread out over 3-4 years anyway. The rest of our squad is young so even if we had zero transfers for the next 2 years i'd still think we're in a strong position IMO.
