Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

Haven’t really seen him play beyond a few YouTube compilations.

How long will he take to settle at our club and produce worldie level performances? Ronaldo was still very inconsistent at this age. Pogba is still inconsistent for us.

Also what predictions for his top level? Is he Giggs or Hazard or Ronaldo level talent?

Impossible to say how long it takes to settle, especially for a 20 year old. It helps if he's coming into a settled team and the opposition have other players to worry about as well, such as Rashford or Bruno or Pogba.

I'd say he's a Hazard level player, but I'd hope he was more consistent season to season.

Looks like potentially a Hazard level talent. There's a lot of similarities there in the dribbling, weight of pass, balance etc I'd say he may end up less of a playmaker and possibly more decisive than Hazard but obviously he has it all to do given his age.

On the consistency front, every player needs his team's support. If we continue to be a disjoint mess we'll get irregular brilliance from our better players whether that's Pogba, or Martial or Sancho.

For me there's no question about it, this chap should be out clear priority this summer. He is absolutely perfect for us.

Hazards most productive season outside of France was last season at Chelsea. He got 21 goals and 17 assists.
Sancho this season got 17 goals and 19 assists so they are already on a similar peak level.

Couple of things to point out are that Sancho was competing in the CL whereas Hazard was in the EL and both managed 2 goals and 2 assists each.

In the league Sancho has only played 23 games to Hazards 37, and almost matches the output regardless. 14/16 goals and assists for Sancho to 16/15 for Hazard.

Tldr: Sancho could easily surpass Hazards peak and rival Mbappe for the best players of his generation which Hazard never managed to do

Quality of league and Dortmund play style also plays a factor to his output. It still a question whether he can replicate those numbers in PL.

He could. Like I said, I can see him being more productive but maybe not as much of a constant contributed to the buildup/playmaker or as much with the ball tied to his toenail, as Hazard. But aside from that they are similar. I also think the PL is tougher on attackers than the Bundesliga (if you're at Bayern or Dortmund) so that has to be taken into account.

His goal output does baffle me as I'd consider him to have fairly poor finishing/shot. But aslong as they keep flying in, who cares.

Think you got it above already. See Raheem Sterling for comparison. Neither really score goals that a goalkeeper would expect to save. The hard work is already done before they get the ball in that position I think.

What gives you the impression his finishing is poor?

he scores from the left and right, and can hit them with power (Barca away)
 
Basically the same applies to all top players

Ornstein was saying last month on video to Stephen Howson that United is Sancho's most likely destination. He seemingly hasn't a clue.

Everytime i have seen him he has impressed me with his speed, skills, creativity and an eye for goal. I think he is the real deal.
 
Don't know about you guys but if I wasn't United fan and if I was Sancho staying in Dortmund for 1 more year would be the most reasonable.

Continue growing with no pressure. Another year could also provide a chance for the best clubs like Barca, Madrid, City, Liverpool to come for Sancho and even look at where United and Chelsea stand by then. Are they progressing? Are they following through on their project? It's not like Dortmund are a midtable club

His numbers are ridiculous at Dortmund though. 30 goals & assists in 22 games this season. He's grown a lot there and probably feels like he needs a new challenge. Get the feeling that he wants to be back in England too.

Yeah, I feel like the Premier League is where he wants to play.

Obviously he's very young and got a long career ahead but there's always the argument for striking whilst the iron is hot, especially for a winger/attacker.

If we can get him in this summer, we'll have had one of the best windows in the league irregardless of whether we bring in anyone else or not.
 
Looks like a free run at him for United really as can't see Chelsea paying a huge fee for Sancho when they're already heavily invested in two young wide players in Pulisic and Hudson-Odoi and have just bought Ziyech. With Pedro and Willian leaving, they'll probably want to add a more experienced, cost effective option like Coutinho on loan.

United on the other hand have been crying out for a right-sided wide player like this for years and spending huge money on him, if neccessary, makes total sense. It's a bit like the approach Liverpool took with Van Dijk. At the time it looked like they'd spent silly money but it was clear to them he would be the perfect fit for them so it is worth paying it regardless.

I do think footballers are judged harshly on this sort of thing. If people remembered and criticised me because I was late for work 2 years ago - I'd be in a huge heap of trouble! Sorry not judging this post in anyway, just the general way people are deemed to disciplinary issues over some very small issues by the media and fans.
