1) Do not get me wrong. Utd are one of the best positionedclubs to ride this thing out due to the commercial revenue, l that is not what I am questioning. However, depending on what you believe there is potentially a £25m hit coming for the kit deal (not sure if the two years out of the CL will count in this situation) and a reduction in TV. Last accounts showed that TV was worth approximately £250m, if that get reduced by 25% that would be a £62.5m hit. Further, no players will be moving so all the contracts we are currently on the hook for will have to be paid and cannot be offset unless the club start terminating contracts.
2) Moving clubs is always a risk. At the moment he looks like a home run, however that cannot be assured. If you look at the biggest transfers, they usually always take place after a Euro/World Cup as that gives the player two years before they have to worry for their place again.
3) You are comparing apples and oranges with TB12 and the NFL. Firstly, the NFL run a salary cap which means that owners only have to lay out $200m a year maximum in wages. Utd's wage bill is £332m (before BF) or $390m+. Further, TB12's contract is $60m for two years with $50m guaranteed, that is £51m/£42m in total compared to £174m for Sancho on a five year deal. The NFL also only runs from Sept to Feb so all their current seasons finances are secure and next season looks like it can still be fitted in, even if there is a bit of a delay. Lastly, TB12 is the biggest NFL shirt seller in the world, his signing is like signing Messi or CR7.
4) As for the London/Chelsea part I did add the caveat of saying that because of the reasons I outlined in my previous post, the only reason I could see him wanting to move this Summer is for family reasons. However, if he was desperate to return to England, he surely would choose to move to London as that where he hails from.
