Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

If a player is determent to stay at a club, they tend to say so on direct questions. If they intend to leave, they say something like

“I don’t really look at all them things,” Sancho said. “I just concentrate on my team (...)."

I´m just saying.

I’m quite confident this will happen if we get CL football.

Will be a right kick in the tits if we don’t. Not just on Sancho but anyone with Adidas cutting back and other financial implications.

When it comes to Dortmund it is all about the money.

As for United, Sancho could be here for fifteen years and we’ll win the Premier League and Champions League with him in that time. Next year doesn’t matter a feck.

I dont get that CL requirement...he will 21, next season.. I can understand a Paul Pogba wanting to be in the UCL at his age but Sancho..At his age, why would that be such a deal breaker?

It wouldn’t. This is a guy who left a trophy laden Man City because he wanted to play football.

If he wants to come to United he’s not going to be sitting watching the Europa League final thinking if United can hold this lead I’ll spend the next fifteen years there.

Because the best players deserve to be in the best competitions regardless of age. What does he gain from the "United project." He can sit at Dortmund, they are far more established and have more exciting things going on.

We have to be in the Champions league to interest him.

What he gains is more fame, more exposure and consequently more money. And of course he is going to think he will take us to another level.

what about starring in the most popular football league in the world?(EPL)...vs Bundesliga

Imagine being the player responsible for taking Manchester United back to the heights. A confident player should be drooling over that (assuming the club shares the same ambitions)

Really, and how do you work that out exactly?

Erling Haaland.

Not only that but take a look at Dortmund's progress in the Champions league, they are an exciting team right now. With some of the best young players in the world. They are far more established than we are. You are deluded to think otherwise.

Do you not remember the end of last season when it was widely reported that Sancho would have joined us had we qualified for CL?

No. I remember every quote from Dortmund where they confirmed he wasn’t for sale and talks went no further. It was even in the documentary they produced.

I suppose some people on the internet know better than Dortmund themselves however.

What does he gain? Triple salary. 10 million more Twitter followers. Fame. Endorsements. A return to his native country. Play with half of his England teammates and friends. Play for the biggest club in England and the most popular club in the world. A chance to take us back to the top. Stop selling MUFC short; it's very annoying.

Dortmund are a selling club. They buy young players, develop them, and move them on for a profit. That’s their model. He’s already gone through the first two stages, he’s already said he wants to leave. Haaland will do exactly the same in a couple years time. As hipster as Dortmund are, they aren’t a team you stay with, as evidenced by all the players that have left them in the last 5-7 years.

I would be offering 120mil now to get his services secured asap. If he or Dortmund say no move in to someone like Chiesa.

We can get relegate and still have the above factors to attract players.
Fact is, every top players wants to play in CL. He got that from Dortmund, why would he wants to move elsewhere which couldn't guarantee him that.
He is no longer 17 unknown kid who wants more first team action, he is established star player now I'm afraid.

The same reason any player leaves clubs like Dortmund for historically bigger clubs. He wants to return to the premier league. He wants a key role. He probably wants to be a star. United is the place to achieve that for him.

The way people down play us is hilarious. We still have one of the biggest lures around. Especially for english speaking players who view the premier league as the peak.

They've definitely got an exciting team. But they've had that before and consistently lost players which has been a roadblock to reaching great heights. So he may stay based on a promise that this won't happen again. Or the more likely scenario is that it's just the way Dortmund operate or have to operate at this stage of their growth cycle as a club, and he has play his part in that by improving, contributing and eventually leaving.

I don't believe Dortmund are there yet. Both Haaland and Sancho will leave. Sancho this or next summer. Haaland in 2-3 years time. Hence we should move every mountain to make sure we get the former

United will always have the lure. Even Liverpool have had lure and they haven't won the league for 30 years. So while it does dwindle, if the club maintains ambition, it takes a long time and lots of stupidity for it diminish enough for it not even be an attractive club for most players.

Its not about down play us or not, its simply about whether the club he join could guarantee him CL football, and chance of winning trophies in future.

Just try to think objectively, why would the hottest best young talent player who worths over 120m wants to play for a team without CL football? Its all about his ambition. Just look at Pogba, completely wasted his years with us, he could have stayed in Juventus or go to Real Madrid to win more big trophies, having better career, which is ultimately all top players strive to achieve.

But If we get to CL, which back up our claim of the project which we are doing, chances of signing him is of course much bigger.

Pogba and Ibrahimovic both signed for United without CL football. Hes 19. Yes hes one of the hottest prospects in the world, but we arent competing with real Madrid or Barca. He wants the prem, meaning we're competing with Liverpool/City (played for one already, the other he wouldnt start in), Chelsea (a threat, but also not in great shape, and they bought Pulisic and Ziyech within the last year and a bit), and nobody else. United isnt a "nothing" option. We're a huge lure for any young english player, regardless of CL football. Players like him will look at us and think he can be the difference maker.

It's like people forget that Liverpool havent won the title for 30 years and until 2 years ago weren't competing for anything, and don't have close to our financial power, overall brand appeal and lure, etc. Yet they still signed hot prospects over the years.

England winger Jadon Sancho is "very happy" at Borussia Dortmund, says the German club's chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke.

"I think he has the feeling that the club does have a good future," Watzke told BBC Sport.

"In my opinion, I don't think he wants to leave."

"We have a very confidential relationship between us and him and his agents," he added. "We will discuss it."

Watzke also asserted that Dortmund - who are third in the German top flight - will not be swayed by the size of any offer they may receive for Sancho, who began his career at Watford.

"It's not a question of money," said Watzke. "For us, it would be the best position if he stays at Borussia Dortmund.

"We have enough money. We want to have titles. I think this team has a lot more potential with Jadon than without Jadon."

Some will say this is just them driving up the bids but with Haaland there for two years I don't think it's nailed on they cash in if Sancho has no good choices or bids are lowish.
It is definitely to drive up the price. Sancho has been acting poorly by what i understand all season after missing out on his move last summer and when big clubs come calling, Dortmund players leave.

Why would he reject Manchester United stardom? Look at Bruno, instantly a global star.

Sancho is already a star at that age, but joining United meant he will be one of the biggest football star in the world. Instantly!

Well I am not that optimistic, yes we have the the global appeal and followings thanks to Fergie era, which ends 6 years ago. We only have Ole now, and we don't have Klopp or Guardiola attraction, so I don't think its comparable. We have been poor for many seasons already, top players may no longer believe in our project. You can see top young talent players like De Ligt and Haaland rejecting us recently without bothering much, Sancho would be no different. The only way to regain faith is to at least guarantee them CL football, and hopefully in few more years we may challenge big trophies again. It surely is long term project.

I mean players are not stupid, they are not average football fans like us who stay loyal to support a club regardless of winning trophies or not. If they have a choice, sure they would prefer to be at somewhere else which is more likely to have successful career.

RW is such an imp missing piece that even a slightly above average winger will help us to improve a lot in that area of pitch. Sancho will be a lottery.

2 years left on his contract. Not like Dortmund is in a good negotiating situation.

If they keep him for a year more, they'd get a lower price. Possibly Sancho could even do an Eriksen. Maybe it depends on who Dortmund can get as replacement this summer.

While I am not saying he would join us Haaland and Deligt rejecting us is not even remotely comparable to Sancho case. He is english, grew up in Manchester and very well know what we are about. The fact that Liverpool is back to pinnacle is actually an indication that , with right investment and coaching, no matter where you were 2 years back you can still be back .

And am sure he would consider that as well.

Chelsea are the only real threat to us IMO. If we get top 4 i'd be almost certain we will win.

It's very important we get this deal done quickly once the Summer window opens. Can't allow it to drag on throughout the Summer, just get it done.

No club in England can ‘guarantee CL football’, not beyond the following season obviously, as they will know that by the time the previous one ends. If he wants to ‘guarantee’ he’ll play in the CL every season, he should join Juventus, PSG or Celtic.

During a Euro year? Doubt it.
