Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

Liverpool can’t afford his wages so we can safely rule them out.

Chelsea can’t afford his transfer fee so we can safely rule them out.

Man City can’t...

Additionally, even if we don’t get Champions League next season we’ll have it for the next ten years after. We’ll probably win it too.

They can afford his wages, but will they want pay him that amount of wages is the question.

The reported 200k a week is about what Salah and Mane earns at the moment and personally I don’t think that would do the job. If/when Barcelona, Real Madrid, PSG and United are going after him I easily could see him get at least 250k a weak.

This going to cost an arm and leg, where ever he is going.

Yep it is going to be a very expensive deal but whoever does get him will be over the moon as the lad is a massive talent.

£250k a week won't even get you to the table unless that's basic and bonuses are very easily attainable.

At least be realistic.

Agree with this, but you don’t think about one major factor of the transfer. The money.

The whole sum, including the agents fee and the transfer sum, will be about 150 million pounds in total.

Even if Chelsea sold some players last summer they can’t afford him considering they also need to buy a st, lb, cb and a gk.

They also made a operational loss of about 100 million last year. Sure they can afford him if Roman digs deep in his pockets, but that does not seem to be his opus moderandi any more.

I just don’t see it.
That loss was mainly down to lack of CL revenue. We'll have that this year. 173m we made in the summer just gone, add on Pasalic for 12m, Morata for 54 (goes this summer to atletico permanent) take away say 40 for Ziyech. Still left with a large chunk. Then you add on potential prize money etc. Drinkwater, Bakayoko, Moses, Giroud, Pedro, Willian, possibly Alonso, Baba Rahman, Kenedy, Zappacosta etc all will probably go this summer. Think Batshuayi might, too

I think this might be the summer where Roman does dig deep again, too. Sounds a little optimistic maybe; but he might be willing to back Lampard heavily after 2 windows of nothing and for what Lampard did for the club. People may argue he didnt in January, but when do clubs ever go crazy in January realistically? Hope more than expectation. Was clear our plan of attack for January was a loanee, only if Giroud went.

But my original post was mainly to say IF we agreed a deal, the factors i mentioned about his personal choice, family, London will be in his thinking. The notion from some posters that if Utd dont get him, we certainly wont is just wrong. Being a fan of ours wont make him sign, of course, but the other stuff will come into it, and certainly be considered. I just cannot understand how people think it wont.

Are you refering to 2 windows including Jan?
If so, you go onto contradicting yourself saying when do clubs go crazy in Jan anyway?

I wouldn’t rule out Tottenham.

They will want a marquee signing for their new stadium. And they’re always in the Champions League.

Spurs are not going to break their wage structure or pay £120m+ for a player. Just imagine the uproar from their star players (Kane in particular) if Sancho came in one a wage that comfortably trumps his.

Sancho's level of club is going to be A1, also, which isn't Spurs.

How do you know this? I think 250 k will be reasonable, historically Madrid and Barca get away with paying anyone who isn’t Messi or Ronaldo decent wages compared to what these players would get at other rivals, because of the success and allure, Sancho isn’t at Neymar Ronaldo or Messi level for a truly competitive club to be overpaying for him and I don’t think at 19-20 years old, that will be a dealbreaker with him, he’s already rich and has a stable and wise Dad/family structure behind him.

You can safely rule them out.

Real, Chelsea and City will be the competition.

Real is Real

He's from London so may fancy Chelsea

Whats his relationship like with City? And would they actually admit a massive error only to buy somebody back for 10 times the price they sold him? (sounds familiar)

Can't help but feel, that Liverpool will push their boundaries to secure him. He looks like a generationel english talent! They will strive to stay on top, and not go in the direction United went in, they have seen if you don't invest properly on top, you'll fall.

This is the highest rated player in his age range in the world and the hottest gettable player out there. The last one was Fenkie De Jong, who is now on £300k+ at Barcelona - even in 2017, Dembele went to Barca on £200k after just a season at Dortmund, which I believe was only basic.

You mentioned players in another stratosphere that (at buyable ages) would cost far more in transfer and wage than Sancho.

Sancho will go for the going rate of an elite, world class attacker who is not even in his 20's yet. It's not even a case of being overpayed; his agent would be incompetent not to get him a package in that ballpark as that is what players who have done what he has should be getting and going for.

The perception of Sancho has to change from young promising talent etc. to acknowledgement he is performing like the best players in the world, and has a claim to be the best RWF on the planet behind Messi. He's definitely in the conversation alongside Mbappe, at the very least.

As I've said a few times in here, the potential for him to cost more than touted is there if he has a storming run in the CL and Euros, which is essentially how Bale got himself from one bracket to another in the blink of an eye - you mentioned Madrid/Barca getting away with paying others less, which isn't accurate (Bale £600k; Saurez £300k; Griezmann £300k(?) etc.).

Liverpool have Mane and Salah: He left City for first team football so I cannot see why he would move there to sit on the bench. Plus Liverpool rarely buy big. The exception being VVD and Alisson but they did sell Coutinho for £140m to fund those transfers.

City: Would he go back to the club he left to get first team football? Plus they have a number of options on the wing. Maybe Sane leaves and they would be interested.

Chelsea: Probably our biggest threat to his signature. He's from London and I've seen he's meant to be a Chelsea fan.

Hope we go in for him this summer.

It’s certain we will try.

At the moment I don’t see any other, club in England, paying him 300k/week except us as suggested above.

I get the feeling he is most likely coming here if we can secure a CL-spot, but it’s not impossible to get him without one either. We’ll have to see how money hungry he is, we will offer best terms in England. No doubt about it.

Yes you are right.

We tend not to do that well with players that have more than a couple of options.....

I wouldn’t rule out Tottenham.

I doubt they will next season with Kane and Son gone they'll struggle badly. Can't see them finishing ahead of us and Chelsea

I think they rule themselves out.

No chance they pay £120m and 250k a week wages.

Levy likes a bargain, no chance he is getting one when there is a bidding war.

I would.

Levy doesn't spend that much on fees
They wont ruin their wage structure
And without Kane and Son, I cant even see them getting champions league next season

Noticed Ole said in the post match press conference that in Bruno we have the number 10 position sorted, wonder if that means someone like Sancho will be the clubs priority this summer...

I would say we will try for Sancho, either Grealish or maddison, a reserve striker (cheap enough).

Then if pogba goes as well, another MF, cheaper enough as well.

On the contrary, I can't think of many generational talents of English nationality that have failed at United. The question should be if we have a spot for him, and if he fits our style of play and is the right profile, like could he possibly get along with the rest of our forwards? Rashford, Greenwood, Martial I'd say he'd fit right in with that gang.

I think the fact he has other options only will reflect in positive ways if he does decide to come here.

Hopefully we can get him for a good price, if not, sign someone like Fekir. This running around throwing outrageous sums of money for players can end in tears, just ask Atl Madrid. So happy we got Bruno instead of Maddison for far less and on far smaller wages.

Think it will be regardless. He's the perfect guy for our team, young and english, and will be a proper world class talent added to our talent squad.

Isnt Fekir a flop?

My god never have I seen such a perfect, somewhat attainable, player that can fit so perfectly in our puzzle. It’s a piece that is crying out like Bruno was. You just know it’s a perfect fit. He would tear it up on the right wing with Bruno, Martial, Rashford, Greenwood. It’d be an absurd 5 years of dominance for that bunch

Atletico Madrid shelled out a ridiculous fee for Felix and he IMO is still raw in aspects. They have to be patient now.

Sancho is a different case all together. He's proving himself in a major European League and is performing at a world class level.

Whether it's Sancho or someone else, one thing is for sure. We need a right winger, just as badly if not more so than ever. I've been banging on about how it's our weakest area on this site for nearly 10 years. We've needed one since two-thousand and fecking twelve, when Valencia turned shite and we've been toothless in attack ever since. Having an attacking threat from the right wing again will make such a difference to us, we can finally stop expecting Wan Bissaka to be an attacking outlet, or better yet have them both causing an overload like you're supposed to do with wide players! Imagine that, huh?

Money will be a very important factor in signing him. And I hope We won't hold back because He's 100% what We need. It's a rare case and seeing the amount of money we have spent for the wrong players added up together, we might as well spend big on one player that exactly fits the bill with a potential to be a trully world class player.

That comment was interesting to me too - maybe it was just a passing comment that didn't mean anything, but it may mean we aren't looking to sign Grealish/Maddison as one of them + Bruno could probably only fit in a 4-3-3 (I don't see Grealish or Bruno in a double pivot). I may be reading into it too much, but it might signal that we're happy with Fred/McT and will only look to sign a holding midfielder plus Sancho in the summer. Imagine:

Partey - Fred
Sancho - Bruno - Rashford
Martial

That's a title challenge level midfield/attack

I’d be open to Grealish if Pogba leaves, but if he doesn’t, it makes no sense at all to sign Grealish. How would that even work? People are asking whether Pogba and Fernandes can play together as it is, let alone Pogba, Fernandes and Grealish. I know it’s a squad game, but I think it may be overkill personally.

Sancho isn't a hard working winger (defending wise) and AWB is not so good attacking wise. So they would complement each other.
Sancho and AWB will complete the right side of the pitch. Left seems decent enough with Rashford/Martial and Luke/Williams.
Buy a striker and a CM (2 CM if Pogba leaves) along with Sancho and our team is sorted for the next season.

I like that, just can’t help feeling Martial isn’t quite good enough for a team challenging for the league.

Looks very good. Add a guy that you can bring on in the 70th to score a header or two and we look good again. Would be pretty damn easy (although expensive). Watch us feck it up.

What happens if Bruno gets injured? We're screwed again. It's not overkill at all.

He also said that Sanchez would come back to United and prove everyone wrong.
