I'm still struggling to believe just how badly we've fecked around with this. I think as a fanbase we're going to be made to feel even worse about this deal in the future when the truth comes out about just how close this was at one point.

Good thing he's still coming today :nervous:

Wait till he moves to another English club. That's when it'll really come to bite us. We had to strike while the iron was hot , and were able to. Hazard all over again.

After yesterday’s thrashing, Anyone still aboard? This is the only hope I have left! Happy Sancho Day

The Football Association is investigating a report claiming Tammy Abraham, Ben Chilwell and Manchester United target Jadon Sancho attended a party in breach of coronavirus regulations.

We've contacted Borussia Dortmund and they have provided us with the following statement.

"We are in close contact with the English FA and representatives of the national team. We are aware that they are following COVID-19 protocols in line with UEFA. It would not be appropriate for us to add comment at this stage."

Asked about their thoughts on their highly paid employee partying while off sick, the reply was -“no further comment. Sorry.”

If it's dead then it's dead but fact remains that we've been in discussions and no statement from the club stating we've wavered in our pursuit of our main target. So why wouldn't people become invested in this?

I'm inclined to agree. Over the past months a plethora of twitter accs, "sport journalists", pundits, newspapers and a gazillion youtube-channels have been peddling the same narrative: Sancho will be a guaranteed Utd player, no matter what others say, let alone the selling club. By declaring all signals from the potential seller as irrelevant from the get go, the road into the realm of delusion was paved.
It's also fascinating how the muppetry here echoed what probably the has been common sentiment among your board and the rest of the British media. "Selling club", "They always cave in the end", "Deadline? Rubbish.", "BDs set price? Irrelevant".
End of the day Ed was dreaming the dream together with you guys, following the same pre-conceived notions until reality finally kicked in.

Even though there was hope, it was so obvious this was going to happen. Dortmund were serious and we all knew that really.

What's the difference between contact and close contact?

Yep its dead. Absolutely depressing. Horror season incoming. Mark Goldbridge from the United Stand is still confident.

For a club as talkative as them that is surprising.

Oh comeon he's a nice lad. I prefer him to the top reds at Stretford paddock. My favourite though is the guy at UnitedPeopleTV

I just think he's like our version of AFTV. Over the top reactions and getting his views and profits from the clubs demise

Now watch us frantically try to sign a right winger. Desperation levels at it's highest. Who we get is anyone's guess but have a bad feeling it will be Ousamene Dembele.

See you in January lads, only 3 months away so not that long.

He's just a fan that gives a fan opinion. He is not ITK nor does he have info from ITK to give him that level of confidence. It's just an opinion. Like all our opinions, it means nothing factually.

I think Jay and Adam are fine, but man Howson is annoying as feck. Rarely seen a guy who loves to listen to his own voice as much as him.

We won’t address the RW option at all. Another window where the powers that be miss out on the managers top target and settle for 3/4 options. It’s like LvGs second and Jose third summer transfer window all over.

It's funny. We have no issue paying Cavani's salary and signing Telles and VDB, but can't afford to meet Sancho's fees.

Yep. Considering our valuation and Dortmund's didnt match my around 20M or so, lets not forget we paid 10M agent fee for Cavani, and the other 10M could have been easily recouped if we had managed to sell the likes of Lingard, Rojo, Romero and Jones, like a well run club.

Which we are not. That's why we couldnt get Sancho, not because it was too expensive. Our negotiation/transfer team is absolutely INEPT.

What the actual feck.

If anything, this was an easy deal to close. Dortmund named a price and made it 100% clear that they'd sell if we paid it and won't if we didn't. This deal should have been closed a month back with us either 1. paying the amount or 2. negotiating a middle ground or 3. Moving the feck on if the first 2 weren't happening and actually getting a RW the squad desperately needed. This entire episode is a 101 on how not to do business. Spent months doing feck all briefs on how we know the asking price, won't pay it, still want the player and refuse to believe the seller actually means it when they've named a price.

We're run by imbeciles who are running us to the fecking ground.
Totally agree. Told the date and the price.. We are a joke. Ed is a clown at transfer dealing. I wonder if he was given a price and date to buy a house would he rock up 2months later at the front door and offer the new owners three quarters of price they paid.. Probably would.

Dembele saga just died, hes not coming. I guess weve given up on the RW and its just telles and cavani?
