Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

So Ole himself saying he is being backed by the board, yet his fanclub will still blame everything else but him if we continue to play shit football.
What if Woodward and the board came directly to Ole and said they needed such statements from him to calm the fanbase down? You think Ole can turn down a request from his own superior? He does not want to get fired just yet.

To be fair, quite a lot of the fan bar were enamoured to have BFS in our ranks.

Yes our leadership should know better than the fans, but it’s also easy to be right in hindsight.
Yeah but for them it's easy to nearly always be wrong in hindsight. And they're paid not to be.

Woody isn't even being enamored with him. He's being a clown. No team is going to fear seeing Schweinsteiger on the team sheet(even at his best), and especially a declining Schweinsteiger.

I didn't even know he proclaimed that. He's pounding his chest out as if he just signed Messi or Ronaldo.

While I hare Woodward, saying Bastian was a disastrous signing is a little bit of a stretch considering we barely paid anything to get him, I think 6 million or something? He was a huge failure but just like Falcao, both were low risk signing with barely any money invested in them to make their failure a big problem. It was a chance and we took it, and it failed, that's it.

Beside I'm pretty sure LVG wanted him back then and agreed on such deal.

I watched the pressure. He did feck all, and I would urge you to watch the full video if you haven't already.

His response to ex players who know the club criticising the club operations was extremely awkward to see. He could have politically agreed with them whilst showing decoram as a manager, and that would have done a lot more.

He instead said something like "they can come to me to speak about it" before realising its their job to say it in skysports as employees.

Think he kept talking about results on the pitch that matter most when there was more opportunities to try and voice his expectation for the transfer market. I get he's the manager and its his job to save face for the club, but with his blatant laid back answers it might as well have been Ed giving the responses.

And let me be clear. This protecting the club works fine when you're top of the mountain, or close. But when you're no way near the peak and just trying to climb up, it doesn't fly with "I have a good group" and "it's the results that matter" off the back of a season that got what, 66 points or something.

So you want him to disrupt the season like Jose did and forgoe any hope we have to winning any trophies like Jose did?

It's on him to keep the squad that he has motivated to achieve their maximum potential, and the best way to do that is to keep things harmonious in public. His players already know that Ole has been sabotaged, and they might start thinking about leaving the club if we don't show more ambition.

They played out of their skin to get us into 3rd, and they may need to do that again this season to keep us in the top 4.

This Ole is far from the guy who came and said that 'I am going to be successful here, and there are players who won't be part of that'

It’s nearly time guys. That “asking price” bid is coming. Woody doing what woody does, slapping the final price down and bowing to the selling team.

Personal terms already agreed. He can have his medical in germany if needed. This can be wrapped up in one day. Hang in there muppets! :D

Aye, our support has turned a bit shit in recent years, have to say I expected a bit more from our fans.

In terms of resources, we've only spent around £900mill in transfer fees since Fergie retired, not bad from a Norwich City

You mean to say we have been a well run football club this past decade or so?

So Ole himself saying he is being backed by the board, yet his fanclub will still blame everything else but him if we continue to play shit football.

So explain what he's supposed to say then? "Hey, I wanted these players but the morons in charge spent the last 10 weeks with their thumbs up their arses and now we're fecked." Yeah, not a good idea.

We we're orgasmic when that happens.

Falcao BFS dimaria in one window.

It's easy to be right in a hindsight
Again, these chaps aren't paid millions for doing an easy job. They're supposed get shit right and that's why they are paid incredibly well. I include the managers in that.

I still dont think it's ed that makes decision on who we should buy.

He may have inputs on it but I doubt his calling the shots. So our bad purchases arent down to him

Not convinced. Ole won't kick up a fuss internally like Jose. Fans won't turn on him like Moyes. Board won't want to spend money on backing a more established manager as was the case for getting rid of LVG.

Ole works for everyone for different reasons.

The reasons Moyes, Mourinho, and Van Gaal were fired were performance related. If Solskjaer fails to deliver, he will suffer the same fate, Sancho or no Sancho.

And, you only have to look around here to see it, fans will also turn if it goes wrong. It happened to Wilf, it can happen to him.

I've really held out hope that we'll land him. But, reading article on Sky about Ole talking about transfers and how every day they are planning, every day they are monitoring players and it's not only when the transfer window opens makes me think it's not going to happen.

Zero secret that our number 1 target is Sancho - the club should already weeks ago known how much they are willing to spend on Sancho. If it was predicated on player sales to be able to make the bid, then with all this super planning they should have had a plan in place if sales don't happen to generate enough to make the bid that would get Dortmund to sell, then they'd move on to secondary targets to achieve at least the goals for the short term. While Sancho could be considered a de facto starter most games, with Greenwood's emergence, it meant the club would have planned for to at least go for a tier 2 player, much like Liverpool did with Jotta, a player that is good quality of the bench or to start some games in place of one of their front 3.

The fact that we haven't done that now I am thinking they've put all their eggs in the Sancho basket and we've failed at moving on players to get the cash required to buy him this window, we probably naively hoped Dortmund would give in even just a bit but, they've stuck to their guns. So now it's Ole resorting to we've got a good enough squad and players that didn't perform last season well enough for him to trust are now suddenly showing they will be competing for game time.

Maybe we can get last minute sales before close of this window to go back for him in the winter window whenever that opens.

OK, campers, rise and shine, and don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there. It's cold out there every day.

"Happy Sancho day, again"

Well I've backed in the past for backing his managers. But although they deserve blame for their poor targets so does Ed as he's hired the managers in the first place.

Managers are judged on results, not whether they got signings in or not.

:D Perfectly summed up - every single day, and dead on 6. Well played.

What a miserable transfer window. Can't wait for it to just end now so we can get on with the concentrating on football games.

The thing that's really bugging me everytime I read a news article justifying United's stance this year is the mention about not being able to make signings because we're not able to move on players like Jones et al. I wish at least 1 would acknowledge that it was the club that has created this issue - by giving these players huge contracts in the first place. It's like nobody's even acknowledging this. Everybody knew that Jones needed to be let go, would not fetch a decent fee, would not play many games... yet we give him a NEW contract, effectively tying ourselves to him for another 4 years in 2019. Madness. But then come to think of it... what a perfect excuse the club then have for not making signings that are necessary "we have unfortunately not moved on the players we thought we would (i.e. Jones)".

What happened with the plane that was being tracked last night? The private jet that was going from Dortmund to Luton. Anyone figure out who was on board that thing?

 We're now at the end stage of our transfer desperation. It's close. BELIEVE.

In all seriousness, not sure. There are probably rich people flying from city to city via private aircraft all the time.
