Ozzy Dembele has a superior ceiling to Sancho, there you go I wrote it

The Sancho deal is straight forward, they have a price and are willing to sell, also the player wants to join. It’s been the same fee all summer.

Why with 2 days left are we looking at alternatives? makes zero sense If we won’t pay the money we should have moved on 6 weeks ago.

It makes absolute sense if we have been trying to raise funds from sales all window, which we have.

I still hope that we don't get him. For the money they ask you could get 4-5 players. We would be mad to pay that kind of money for a player. Stay away from this one.

IF we are working on something we should be looking for other players in other positions.

He's not a cnut? He's been stood outside the stadium all week waiting for Sancho to pull up in his car.

He gets paid to do that. He probably doesn't want to stand in the freezing cold but needs to put food on the table for his family.

Plus, if it's not him, it would be someone else. No need to call someone a cnut who is earning an honest living.

Because we are panicking. My understanding, which may well be wrong obviously, was that we would expect them to lower their demands, when they didn't, we began panicking. Hence the loan deals for Dembele, Chiesa etc.

Do you honestly put such a shambles beyond this club

Yup let’s look for value in the market in other positions, like how we’ve done over the years with Young, Valencia, Rojo, Darmian, Dalot etc. All worked out really well.

AV25 wasn't value for money? Clean your mouth!

I could have guessed we would have been in for Dembele. In fact I was saying as much on this forum a while back in this summer. I too, know feck all. He's been consistently wrong about Sancho all summer.

I disagree, he spesifically noted that it was both Woodward and Judge who had been in contact with Barcelona over the potential acquisition of Dembele and that the interest was mostly generated from that side of the club. This has now been widely reported by many other outlets not to mention he also stated that Dembele did not want to leave despite the interest and again this has also been reported until recently where the player seems to have changed his mind.

Sadly... no.

I'd say we're panicking now and bending to Dortmunds demands. If that bid is true (which i doubt), it might just sway Dortmund, especially if Sancho does express a strong desire to move. Still, who knows whats going on. Dembele is very unlikely to happen, but at this moment in time, and even with his terrible injury record, i'd go for it, just so we have some options other than James!

He has a very high ceiling, but Sancho’s all round game, IQ and decision making put him a level above Dembele IMO.

And injury record. One of the best traits in sport is availability. Obviously, I wouldn't say "no" to Dembele as a plan B, as he's class when fit, but you also can't discount the boom/bust potential of Dembele as compared to Sancho.

Mind blowing isn’t it? Stinks of arrogance from Matt judge and Woodward. Given how long it took them to “prepare” the last bid I doubt anymore will come on this front.

sigh. All that hope at the end of last season dashed by the incompetence of our board.Fans are frustrated yet nothing will change

Young and Valencia have done very well. Football didn't start 5 years ago.

Who else would be in direct contact? They are both our negotiatiors. Regardless, even if he was correct, throw enough shit and it'll eventually stick etc. How much has he gotten wrong about Sancho this summer.

If you choose to believe him, great, I would love for him to be right but the majority of the reliable sources are saying this as of now is dead

as if our club were able to sign 4-5 players. Good one.

I think every United fan agrees with this.

Bet you’re fun at parties

My problem is why make a offer with a week to go that everyone in the entire world knows that Dortmund are going to reject!

So they can say 'we tried'. PR and that. I'd like to think all fans have picked up on their bullshit by now though. I really don't think it will be enough for them to simply pretend like they tried this time round

Ah we’re onto the ‘Is Gary Coterill a cnut or not’ part of the saga.

This is going to go on for another season, months of click bait articles about signing him in January and then next summer.

I’m sure Ole will get Josh King as a second signing this season but probably no one else, deal for Sancho is just a story press don’t want to give up on.

Yes we will mate. But i guess we can agree on that in an ideal world, we would get players in before the season starts for new players to settle in.

we can agree. I feel we have to give the club some slack this season given it would easily be the biggest and most high profile transfer of the year, and in the middle of this pandemic.

All things considered, if United have bid anything close to 100 million - pounds or euros - I will be a bit surprised if Dortmund doesn't accept. Don't forget, we have in reality only had a quarter of a season with Covid (both United and Dortmund have played 11 league games or so since lockdown in March), and already the clubs are taking a huge financial hit. What would an entire season do to the economy? According to medical experts, this thing isn't going to disappear overnight, and there is no guarantee that the season will continue uninterrupted now that infection rates are slowly rising before an expected peak this winter. There is almost 0% possibility that teams will be better off financially this time next year.
