Sounds like a last throw of the dice to get a price drop and we are losing interest."We’re working hard to get better with the players we’ve got," says Ole.
Doesn't sound like a man who knows we're about to drop 120m on a player. Shambles.
Where did he say that?"We’re working hard to get better with the players we’ve got," says Ole.

It’s almost like we’re in the middle of a pandemic and have more transfer debt owed to other teams than anyone out there. Did I completely imagine the £200m spent in the last year on just 4 players?
if we had some half decent scouts and a proper DoF, we might not be in this mess.
Where did he say that?
Not doubting it as I know what United are like. Probably a way of managing expectations to be fair, incase everything falls through, not just with Sancho but with everyone were looking at
Well, when we're down in 8th or so come Feb and the CL is seemingly out of sight, maybe the club will realise how they fecked up so badly. It's a quote from Uniteds Twitter.
Brilliant question to Ole there! How is it acceptable that United have been so poor in the transfer window. Ole replies "The club know my view. I can't say whether it's acceptable" is apparently another quote doing the rounds.
It wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if we panic buy Sancho in January when we are mid table for about €150 million.
We are going to look utterly incompetent to the rest of the football world if this doesn’t happen now. We should have walked away months ago if we couldn’t afford it and other targets should have been purchased.
I really really hope that the media rip our board to shreds. It’s about time that they got called out for their inability to properly back a manager.
Yup
Chelsea we're seriously interested.....didnt want to pay the 120m and instead went and bought a new squad.
We've done feck all.
I don’t really understand this arguement. I’m sure they already what Dortmund needs and what the actual deadline is. No way United would take it to the deadline day if they are not sure the player is still for sale. Maybe Dortmund don’t need replacement or they already have someone ready to sign or they get Messi Lingard and James as part of the agreement. Or you really think Dormund forgot to tell us when they want the final decision or they told but we ignore it and just send our 120m bid as a surprise?Yep, if there is no movement today, this deal is more or less dead. There is no way this goes into the weekend with Dortmund needing a replacement.
It won't be be happy Sancho day if nothing is heard by tonight, deal needs to move today. Dortmund won't accept anything unless they can get a player in too.
If the intention is to pocket the cash, it going to the wire is the perfect cover to do so. Someone listed all the cover they have at RW if Sancho isn't there anymore, and whilst it's not good to subtract from a squad with a player like that, they don't plummet from a potential world beater to two players who are barely Premiership standard like we do.Yep, if there is no movement today, this deal is more or less dead. We'll probably end up putting 6 past them and Ole says his more than happy with the squad.Whats the chances that we get spanked by Tottenham and panic buy the players we need? Its not what I want to happen, but is it likely? Surely Ed knows that if we don't get CL next season we're a little screwed

Thing is, no matter how you put it, one of the clubs has behaved very strangely. It would be very weird if you had dragged this out so long although Dortmund made it clear to you that any possibility of a transfer died on August 10. And it would probably be even more weird if Dortmund postured publicly like they did only to sell Sancho at the end of the window anyway. Either way, either Dortmund or United acted inexplicably dumb in this saga and has lots to explain when the window finally closes. I guess we'll know which one by October 5 at the latest.
If Dortmund truly had no intention of selling United would have briefed weeks ago that we have no interest In Sancho to save face.
The fact that hasn’t happened means that they know Dortmund will sell (at the right price).
Preparedness level: 69. Current State: Preparing a bid. Goal: To sign Sancho, Cavani and Tello.Sounds to me like they're still trying to get money off. They'll cave and pay up eventually as I'm sure they'll see massive backlash if they don't as well as a seriously poor season.
Fingers crossed
Ed is a bit inept at transfers, but even he wouldn't stick with a transfer he knew he had no chance of securing. And what if Ed just refused to believe what they have been saying, just like all the muppets here?
We’ve heard clubs before saying they won’t sell when eventually they did, even United. I don’t understand the psychology behind it, but it’s normal. Maybe they want to make sure they get the asking price, but makes little sense if privately they let them know about the actual conditions. I mean it is weird but known tactics.Thing is, no matter how you put it, one of the clubs has behaved very strangely. I must be imagining that we are one of the biggest clubs with the highest turnover in the PL over the last 10 years at least?
I also forgot we are the only club affected by this, no other club is using the pandemic as an excuse, who have also spent money over the years.

Having other clubs acutely aware you've just come into money via the biggest transfer of the window is not ideal unless you've already got deal(s) agreed in principle with clubs who want renege.
As shrewd as Dortmund are, they've probably got a mid to long term eye on the next Wunderkind they'll get for a nominal fee some way down the line over spending a sizeable chunk on a ready-made player. The replacement thing, with regards to them, is less of an issue than the principle of telling us to do one if we don't meet their valuation, imo.

I would be more surprised if United were so stupid to ignore the real deadline. And I think i’ve already mentioned here but if my maths is correct, 10th August would have been the last day of the transfer window if the season had ended in the normal way in May. Weird coincidence.
Ed Woodward is completely incompetent, except when it's about a transfer that we really really really want to happen. Then everything he does is part of a 5D chess game. And what if Ed just refused to believe what they have been saying, just like all the muppets here?
No other club is even contemplating spending £100m on a player this summer. Of course it’s affected everyone.

Especially when Dortmund would need a replacement. If anything they'd probably increase the price because of it.You dont go into the last week hoping the £100m player will become a £70m player. It is pure incompetence that.
When has he ever manages to reduce a transfer fee instead of paying whatever the other club wanted?Ed is a bit inept at transfers, but even he wouldn't stick with a transfer he knew he had no chance of securing.
He learnt that the hard way with Fabregas at Barca. If Dortmund genuinely didn't want to sell, we definitely would have walked. Hes just penny pinching, even a €1m reduction would be a win in his books
Guys, I'm having a hard time not caving in. I need some flight schedules/information, encrypted tweets, something, anything.
It's been 48 hours of silence (not interested in the obviously false tweets saying this is off).
We were never paying £100m upfront for him anyway. It would always be in instalments.
So when did clubs realise they can't spend £100m on a player? today? last week?
If you run one of the biggest businesses, which United is, surely you know from July you cannot spend £100m on one individual so you say, right, we will spend £35m on VDB and then we will spend £40m on x RW and see what else we can do.
You dont go into the last week hoping the £100m player will become a £70m player. It is pure incompetence that.
Pretty sure he declined Palaces demands to waive a sell on fee for Zaha. Does that count? Anyway, Ed doesn’t do the negotiations as far as I have heard. When has he ever manages to reduce a transfer fee instead of paying whatever the other club wanted?
