Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

Which brings to me an interesting question to wrestle with: Given the choice between buying Sancho, resulting in Woodward and Judge keeping their jobs or missing out on Sancho and seeing those two clowns gone, what would it be?
You actually think Woodward will be gone if Sandro is not signed is naïve at best, deluded more likely.

Why would they sell a player of that caliber now without buying a decent replacement? This deal has been dead for a while now.

Surely, if they don’t make it to CL, it will affect their revenue even more?

One issue we have is that our stinking great Chevrolet deal is coming to an end soon. Trying to find a suitable sponsor to provide us with that much income will be very hard.

I doubt we will have big issues with this, we've been sounding out suitors for this for a while I'm certain. Plus signing high profile players helps with making the sponsorship more attractive, more images in media of young star players wearing the logo, plus an increase in people buying and wearing the shirt worldwide as walking advertisements.

Even if the companies we have courted as the next sponsors are struggling so much now making it impossible for them to offer better terms than Chevy, I'm sure we'll just end up offering someone (else) a discounted price for max 2 years and then return for a bigger deal after that.

this is the last week of the transfer market and we're pushing a bid at the 11th hour that is below Dortmund's valuation. That means we'll have no time to improve the bid, no time to come up with adequate replacements and no time for Sancho to do anything about it. What possibly could go wrong?

Pretty sure the 'deadline' was a load of rubbish. There never was, and never will be, any other deadline than 5th October.
Money talks, the right bid goes in, the player leaves. Simple as really.
Well according to Dortmund their deadline is 5 Aug at 120m though. Sure we can still put a bid after that up until 5 Oct, it’s doesn’t really matter. But chances of them selling at same price would be lower, as this would leave them no time to find a replacement, it happens to every club out there as well.

call it what you want, as of now Sancho is their player, and we still have no legal rights to officially talk to him.

So unless we come up with 120M or whatever it is they're asking for...

This transfer is dead. Ed bottled it. I think after this failure, both Ed and Judge will be out of all transfer business.

there probably is some truth to the 65m profit threshold that needs to be met. If that is the case, it explains why we’ve only completed one transfer this window. Any true businessman knows that this is the window to go all out because prices will be depressed. Sancho will go for 150m next summer and we’ll look completely daft.

This is why people should really read up and understand things before they start writing it out.

Cursed be that BS tweet that somehow got into my feed saying it was done and made me check this thread.

But blessed be your Sancho Day.

Then put your little hand in mine
There ain't no hill or mountain we can't climb
Babe
I got you babe
I got you babe

OK, campers, rise and shine, and don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there. It's cold out there every day.

"Happy Sancho day, again"

When i next fill my car up and hand over 85% of the money im going to say 'take it or leave it'. If i leave it until my tank is empty aswell that will really test their resolve

I need to watch that movie again. Its been forever.

This transfer has broken me. Usually I love a good chase where we're tracking flights and Instagram follows etc. But this one is just annoying. Either pay the cnuting money or don't, but just put it to bed either way.

It’s on!

they have said all along that they will not sell this summer.... and they stuck to it.

but now it’s Fall/ Autumn.

yup, they said he's staying this season, when the previous (19/20) season was still ongoing. ;)

Yes, this is more like the Sneijder saga than the Thiago or Pogba ones.

Reports have claimed that United will try and make an official bid at some point this week to entice Dortmund into selling.

But Sky Sports reporter Gary Cotterill has an update direct from Dortmund which may stop an approach from United altogether.

"They're even more entrenched in that view," he said on Sky Sports.

"I spoke to someone at the club yesterday and they're saying there's no way that the player will be sold at all this summer window.

"The actual quote was, 'it's not happening'.

"They're saying it would be silly to sell him.

"He's still young, he's still got three years left on his contract.

"They think they'll get more money for him next summer when the COVID-19 mark is behind us hopefully.

"And he's not pushing or making life difficult around the place to try and get out of the club."

Where did I say that would happen? I just presented purely hypothetical questions. fecking hell. Did you need to be so aggressive?

After the bid is made official it's time for Sancho to agitate a bit; Dortmund need their traditional excuse of blaming the player.

United just diverting and trying to look active.

‘oh well we tried’ when the window shuts next week. Terrible transfer window that will possibly see Ole lose his job.
Could be but I think most of the sources for this type of thing are the agents.

It seems like they've found the covid vaccine. If the economy is going back, and he at least keep his numbers like last season, he'll be a 150m player guaranteed.

I don't think a bid will be made before tomorrow
Dortmund vs Bayern tomorrow.

Once they get annihilated and Sancho realises Dortmunds best team in years is still nowhere near good enough to challenge, he asks to leave and we swoop.

"Considering a bid"

Does anyone visualise in their head the meeting between Woodward, Judge, Solskjaer and co.? What does that look like?

Ole - "What's happening with Sancho?"
Woodward - "Well, Ole, We've been monitoring the situation for a couple of months now.The situation being as to whether we'll consider a bid for Sancho."
Ole - "And?"
Judge - "What Ed means to say is that we're now considering a bid for Sancho?"
Ole - "When are we bidding?"
Woodward - "We're considering it."
Ole - "We've only got a week!"
Woodward - "Ole, trust the process, ok? We've monitored the situation and now we're considering the possibility of a bid. I never said we would bid, but you have our word that we're possibly thinking about maybe briefing the press that we've moved from monitoring to consideration. And if that doesn't force Dortmund's hand, then I don't know what will!"
Ole -"(sigh) just let me know when something happens"

(Ole walks out)

Judge - "Ed, sign onto your Caf Nou_Camp99 account. We need Romano to take the fall for his misreporting when they reject our generous 30m offer."
Normally i'd read something like that and chuckle, but the stories you hear from people who deal with Woodward and Judge, it wouldn't surprise me if the truth was even more daft.

There is LESS than a week left, people at the club who are earning absolutely millions have spent months of their time (and earned a bucket load of money from United) to negotiate this deal, we've briefed that personal terms are now a formality once a bid is accepted.

All of that.. one thing left to do... And we brief that we are CONSIDERING a bid... What?!

I can't even think of a comparison bizarre enough. Like a Farmer spending 6 months growing the perfect crop and then on the day he gets to pick all his hard-earned vegetables, he considers if he wants to or not.

Where did I say that would happen? I just presented purely hypothetical questions. fecking hell. Did you need to be so aggressive?
Wasn’t trying to be aggressive. Most likely scenario is we won’t sign Sancho and Woodward will still be here. Your hypothetical questions is too hopeful and doesn’t make sense. The former don’t actually have any bearing on the later

I wouldn’t believe everything Putin tells you.
