Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

Oh that’s great to hear. So why on earth do people entertain the idea of Sancho? Current liabilities are at 298m and they’re only sitting on 78m of cash as of last quarters report. COVID surely won’t be giving them any cash boosts any time soon. The next 12 months for United look like a cash crunch like no other. Why on earth would they get reckless here? Most of the current cash is tied up to meet the next 12 month liabilities, leaving you with little to no leverage on the negotiation table. I can’t see them slapping on another 100m+ payables for the next couple years. Consider that shareholders and Ed are well aware that sponsorship deals will dry up big time with the COVID economic shit storm. This would be a whole other conversation if this was June 2019, where united had just posted a record quarter and racked themselves up 300m in cash.

None of this looks like prime spending conditions, does it for you?

Didn’t we take out a 140M loan back in April?

I'm not neccessarily disagreeing with you, but I do question what would be the purpose in allowing the media to run wild with speculation on a transfer that United have no intention of attempting? Even if we got a cut price deal, we'd still be looking at 90+ million, so the not-enough-cash principle will still apply. All this saga has done is increase the fans frustration and increased pressure/criticism from pundits and the media. If we genuinely had no cash to spend then we would not have even flirted with the idea, we'd have shut down these rumours at the start of the summer.

So this Howard Nurse thing, I take it he means palatable as in easier for United to swallow. He’s not saying anything new at all. Just repeating what most journos and us have assumed on transfer window. A down payment and then incentive based add ons.

He isn’t adding anything new and neither was Lukhurst the other day. They’ve just polished up some old news from a few weeks back, slapped some paint on it and pushed it out.

spending in this window so far

We just cannot shift the shit in our squad.

Phil cnuting Jones is gonna be here a decade next summer. I can't stand him.

Lingard still pissing around.

Mata is basically our nice guy ambassador.

Pereira, waste of time.

Rojo. Shit.

Dalot. See above.

So much pointless rubbish in this squad.

Yeah we can safely say it will take more than £90m to sign him, then again like others have said the source is not very reliable

And there are people who suggest we could recoup 90m this summer by selling all our dead woods.

If we recoup 9 million for the lot of them we’re lucky. I do hope that this crop of deadwood teaches the club a valuable lesson, that it’s preferable to lose a player for nothing, rather than try to ensure you get a transfer fee and risk end up stuck with the player for the duration of their contract, especially on the wages that we dish out.

Anyone financially literate here?
Why on earth would the United board slash their earnings by another -$150m right before (4 days till earnings) they’re about to announce one of the gloomiest quarterly reports in Uniteds public history? I know it won’t be on this quarters report but shareholders will dump the company really quickly. Btw it’s shareholders glazers care about, not ‘fans’

No sense to it. They were never going to spend more than 30m this quarter on players.
Their share price has been crashing in the past 5 days leading up to the report. Glazers won’t take on anymore expenses with COVID about to lock the world up again for the next couple months.

Forget Sancho, I can’t believe anyone thought this PUBLICLY TRADED company was going to dump +100m right before horrible earnings!

Unless our shareholders are the thickest people in the market, in their place I'd be more worried about the fact that the United brand will plummet in popularity due to becoming a joke when it comes to results.
How many kids do you see wearing AC Milan shirts nowadays? That's us a few years down the road if nothing changes.

Is there any reason to believe Dortmund need a cash injection this season? Now or in a few months?

If they can do without it, they probably will refuse to sell unless Sancho kicks up a fuss, which hasnt happened.

The only way our approach makes sense is knowing no one else is going in for him.. drag it late and have Dortmund in a weaker position.. And end up getting a big discount.

So.. after dragging it this late, our opening bid isnt exactly going to be 108m, is it?

We might have totally misjudged the situation.. wouldnt surprise me one bit.. but .. if we have a final play, we'll see it sometime very soon.. and will find out if the gamble worked.

As much as I gripe about this whole saga of transfers... I would love to be a fly on the wall in the room when this offer goes down.

Then put your little hand in mine
There ain't no hill or mountain we can't climb
Babe
I got you babe
I got you babe

OK, campers, rise and shine, and don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there. It's cold out there every day.

"Happy Sancho day, again"

I don’t think they Glazers give a toss about “supporters wrath” they never have before.
Why would they start now?
They may care less than some of the other better owners, but they certainly give a toss - we wouldn't be the second highest spending club in the PL in the last decade otherwise.

the club wanted that by giving ridiculous contracts to ridiculous players. We renewed Jones contract in February to protect his value

30 million pounds a year in wages for players who won't make the bench 90% of the time

Howard Nurse is not a journalist, he's a historian. He's probably tweeting about how William the Conqueror is set to take London by surprise.

The Mirror saying we're going to make one final take-it-or-leave-it offer of £90 million for Sancho next week. My guess is they'll leave it.

If we were going to pay the money it would have been done weeks ago. Zero chance of this happening, we don’t have the cash.

Have we even made an offer ?
My guess is they looked at the cost months ago and thought feck that.
I'll be absolutely stunned if this happens. Genuinely I would. I think Twitter twats, Sky liars and transfer muppets have fuelled this nonsense. I genuinely believe there was no chance we were ever paying 120mill.
