Jadon Sancho - Chelsea (loan) watch | £5M opt-out fee

The real issue is why would they be content with a 25m player? They'd be better off spending more for a star
They may consider other positions to be more pressing and signing Sancho at that fee doesn't rule them out on signing said "star".

It's a squad game, so even if they don't rate him that highly, worst case scenario is they have a squad player for £25m, which is reasonable.

I can’t see them not going for him at £20 million. It’s a good deal if he agrees to their structured wage scale.

It's a good deal in terms of what Sancho offers as a player, but I agree with @giorno I'd prefer to pay triple that for an actual star than get a good deal for an okay-ish player.

Sancho was shipped out by ten Hag. For all we know Amorim wants to work with him.
He was shipped out by the club and will not be welcomed back. Its been reported plenty of times

There isn’t a lot of proper CL experience players in the Chelsea squad though. He still has resell value at his age and provides valuable experience the squad is lacking.

I am sure the star will come too, someone younger and with elite promise.

Ah well it was fun whilst it lasted

I don't think that's enough for me to want to sign him to be honest. He's not a long term answer for us.

I doubt Chelsea can afford him given their made up money to comply with FFP is getting questioned.

Rashford head in the clouds for where he's going next season, us still owing more in amortistion than we can probably get for Antony, and Sancho been Sancho, can see the three headaches all returning for next season tbh.

Then again buying him for the fee shows as an asset for that same fee on the ledger for FFP whereas paying the penalty clause is a 5M loss. I know PSR/FFP is a farce but in this case paying the penalty is worse from an accounting perspective so if they are close to the edge it might be easier to complete the transfer and try to flip him next summer.

That's the tricky bit, I doubt we could do it which is why everyone is so keen for Chelsea to complete.

Maybe Chelsea can just make it work by thinking up some random new 'loophole' no other club has sunk to yet, and then have their fans tell everyone that they haven't broken any rules and anyone could have done it.

Hang on a second - what if we just sell Sancho, to ourselves? Double the money?!

When we finally do get shot, I hope the official United account states just one word: “Freedom”

He’s coming back, let’s just all accept it.

Waste of space for one more season

Can't we conjure up some interest from the Bundesliga or something? It's the only league he's ever looked good in. Or is this another case of giving an enormous wage, which makes selling nearly impossible.

I wouldn't put it past Chelsea to buy him off United for 25M and flog him for 30M in the same window.

There have been rumours in Germany Dortmund is considering such a deal if I'm not mistaken

I’m absolutely ok with that if it means we are still rid of him and his wage and have 25m in our pocket.

Yeah, I don't think people realise sometimes how much of a stumbling block the wage bill of a club is when it comes to transfer business.

It's funny that looking at the type of player he is (or what we wish he would be), he perfectly fits what Amorim wants from a 10 in his system. Good control, dribbling, incisive passing, operating between the lines. Shame he's just so ineffective, never been able to impose himself.

Really hope Chelsea take him off us. Cba having another circus involving his transfer again.

True, I wouldn't feel any resent towards Chelsea, it would be a fitting end to his time in England.

Can you buy and sell a player in the same window? I can't remember a club ever doing that.

Chelsea would find a way…loan with an obligation should do the trick.

It will be embarrassing for him to be shipped back to United tbf. Especially after his “freedom” comment.

24 karat plonker.

I wonder what he personally makes of his Chelsea stint. Does he think he’s playing well? Is he worried about his future? Is he worried about how the 2040 season is going in his latest FIFA save? Would be fascinating to sit down with him and have an honest chat.

I very much doubt he's playing career mode.

Surely if that happens, he'll be motivated to get himself out of the club as soon as possible?
