Van Gaal ordered his players to sustain a slow tempo and that they did, so I supposed it could be argued that he commanded respect -- but at the cost of horrific play. Mourninho was a vindictive fukk no one wanted to play for. Ole was a fresh face and inspired happiness but he had no record of success and his in-game management was chaotic at best.
