He managed Grealish in fairness and was the manager to really promote in him the first team.
Could see him replacing Sané (on a numbers front). They have bigger positions of priority but Pep’s never been afraid to hoard attackers.

I totally agree that it makes him sound very irresponsible but do people think there is anything in this recurring rumour that Grealish was celebrating sealing a move to United on that night he crashed his car, initially I thought it was complete and utter rubbish but when you think back there were stories back in February he was set to join until coronavirus stopped the season.
I really don't see what all the fuss is about.

There's Thiago Alcantara who's apparently available on cheap. Can be fantastic cover for both Bruno and Pogba.

Nope. Donny Van De Beek is clearly better but we are blinkered when it comes to English players. Clearly a British only transfer policy which is ludicrous.
I don't see United wanting to pay £40m for a squad player. I also don't see Grealish wanting to be a backup player at this time in his career.
I dont think so, Grealish would probably be cheaper than VDB. We need a squad at a reasonable price.
Grealish has not only the technical ability but the personality to be a top Manchester United player. He plays without fear and works his socks off. We cannot rely on just 2 creative protagonists (Bruno and Pogba) and that’s assuming Pogba stays or neither player gets injured. Man City have rotated or played all of de Bruyne and the 2 silvas. We need 3 and in fact they can all play at the same time
For me grealish is born to play for United. You can’t have too many good players. I love the way grealish grabs a game by the scruff of the neck. We must get him.
He is English and he knows the premier league so he can hit the ground running....
All this talk about his personality and how he's a leader and shows no fear. So why would he want to sit on the bench? Why would we even spend 40m on a player that isn't going straight to the starting lineup? I've asked this question before but how many times has clubs spent 40m on a player in his prime that isn't needed as a starter?
Considering there are 50-60 games to play and we now know our best 11 - who outside that first 11 can come in without diluting the quality. Injuries? Rotation? We cannot rely on Bruno and Pogba - simple
I think Tim Sherwood is correct.
Between Matic, Fred and McT, I just cannot see how people think that DM is a priority. We didn't struggle this season with a leaking midfield against strong teams - we struggled with creativity and lack of depth over the course of the campaign. Signing Grealish would solve these issues and he would get more than enough game time.

I'm aware of that. I'm not questioning whether we need him because we do. I'm questioning whether we can get him. Because it makes no sense to spend 40m on a rotational player in Covid. If we can get him for less then fine but 40m is the fee being thrown out there and that's too much for a rotational player even pre Covid. I'm also questioning why he would come here to be a rotational option with how his character has been described.
I think if we get him it means either we are not getting Sancho or we are preparing for Pogba's possible departure. Or both. I'd be surprised if it weren't the case and happy of course

Started reading Sherwood's comments and though he has inside info. Looks like he is just speculating.
Tough. They need to play better then to retain their place. If United want to return to the top level of English football they need competition for places and no players resting on their laurels.
You say that United need to fill other holes in the team first. Adding quality to the attack is exactly what they need. The only glaring hole is the right side of attack. You would hope they'll sign more than one player.
As for investment, they have a £190m back 4; Pogba, Bruno, Fred and Matic cost £240m. The last significant investments in attacking players (still at the club) were Martial under LVG and Mata under Moyes.
Still the most realistic option, but if Woody wants to burn money on Griezmann that should be Ole's decision to make.
Then he should not be going anywhere near City where Sterling, B.Silva and KDB are the first names on the sheet across the positions he plays.
Van de Beek isn't clearly better. Most people here have seen him play 3 times, in an Ajax team that was flowing on enthusiasm and a few fantastic talents. Grealish would be the better fit for us I think.
I mean, we did just bring in Bruno Fernandes and Odion Ighalo. Tough to argue we have a British ONLY policy imo.
Bruno will look good in the England top in the next Euros.
I could also say fans are blinkered when it comes to foreign players. There are so many players within the PL we could buy and will fit into the team. How often have you watched Donny play? CL games?
What about eredivise games against 3rd bottom team ?
His stats are not too different to Grealish playing in a relegation team.
