Grealish is good player as LW, AM, CM. He will play plenty of games, with our injury record he will play every week.

You underrate some players attitude. Grealish seems like a player who has faith in his ability and will fight for his place. No one is guaranteed a starting place, you have to earn the right.
This is why Pogba thinks he is bigger than the club.
This goes doubly since most people's lineups seem to include dropping McTominay (a £50m talent if he were at Newcastle) and Fred (a £50m signing) to accommodate this £50m (more likely £65m) signing.
I understand people's view on rotation but fundamentally every team has a first XI that plays when everyone is fit in the big games. Grealish isn't going to come here and be on the bench for important matches / cup finals. Likewise I can't see him being in the same team as Rashford and Fernandes on those games (our two best players I'd say).
Fully aggree we should be stocking up quality options, as we've seen what happens when our eggs are in the Pogba basket. Mata, Jesse and Andres simply do not have the ability to touch his impact on the team and the team suffers due to it.
Grealishg is very adaptable and gives us so many options. How he fits into the team is a great problem that Ole would need to solve, it creates competition and would certainly benefit the team.

Agree. Even if we straight up told him that he will be a backup player (which we would never do), he still has so much self-belief that he no doubt will believe that he will be a starter after the first six months. And his abilities is just as good as his mentality.
We need players with this mentality as well. He knows Manutd are not spending £50m on him to sit on the bench all season, he will get minutes.
The thing is when you buy players with such a mentality, it drives other players on and improves players. Look at Shaw, a little bit of competition and he is beginning to up his game.
In contract look at Perreira and Lingard, they knew they will start games regardless until Bruno was signed.
Finally, under Ole we do not have a set system we play, so there is room for players with versatility. he can play CAM in a 4231, LW in a 433, LW in 4231 and LCM in a diamond.

Pogba does not take criticism well, we saw it under Jose as well. And also, Gomes had a double compound leg break and is back before Pogba who has had an "ankle" injury.
How does it not apply? Grealish has shown to be a player with attitude, he speaks about his time about when he was young and criticised but now he wants to play and win trophies. He doesn't say, I should be playing for the best team, the VIlla team are not good enough for me.
In contrast that is what Pogba's agent who you might not believe would probably have been briefed by Pogba to say that.
Pogba might want to leave, I am fine with that, but he hasnt come out to say I want to fight and win trophies. We could win 2 trophies this season. Yet his agent and brother keep coming out with remarks that are unnecessary.
It's weird that people complain about our squad, and especially our midfield, being weak, lacking depth and a bit of a shambles overall, yet think arguably the best midfielder outside of the top six this season would be a backup for us.
You are obviously not fine with it though. Every post you make suggests that you do not feel better is entitled to want to leave, if he indeed does.
And those constantly referencing his agents words pick and choose the ones they want anyway. His words are often ambiguous and inconclusive. His most recent ones mentioned the possibility of discussing a new contract, and not for the first time either. Just let him recover from injury and get back first before we over speculate.
Your reference to Andre Gomes again adds to this implication that the player is not injured and instead pretending, which of course further adds to the evidence that you love to throw out sensationalist and unfounded rubbish.
I know you love Pogba and he can do no wrong. This thread is about Grealish and I would take the money for Pogba even if its £90m and replace him with Grealish.
He might not be as talented, but I can guarantee you he will offer the team alot more.
Pogba has close to 50 league goals + assists in 99 games, that's goal or assist every other game as a midfielder. Don't think Grealish can offer that as part of midfield, he should play in attacking role to score and assist that many goals.
Yet we are no closer to wining the league or challenging in the CL. We cannot afford Sancho without selling Pogba. If we are going in for Sancho this summer, I'd sell Pogba and get Grealish.

Whether we have to sell Pogba to sign Sancho is different argument, this is about Grealish offering more than Pogba.
Grealish at 24 playing for a Villa team in the relegation zone has 13 goals and assists in 25 games.
He has shown over the last few years those stats are improving.
Pogba at CM last year was being dispossessed at the same rate as wingers. That is a huge concern.
Grealish can keep the ball in a way that not many in the league can whilst gliding with it.

As if we'd spend £50 million on someone to be a backup when our first choice 11 might not get us top 4.
He'd be starting. So would Rashford, Bruno, Martial and Pogba. So someone would have to try and adapt to the right wing or we arent signing him
No he would be starting in the team but can cover the number 10 position as well if needs be.
I think the only way we are going to sign Sancho if we manage to offload Sanchez in the summer and free up his wages. Hope to feck we manage to get rid of him this Summer but wouldn't be surprised if Sanchez was our new RW next season.

Seen Grealish play live a couple seasons ago against Cardiff at Villa park in a deeper role and was best player on the pitch that day. Has the ability to go forward with the ball from deeper role. I'd like to see a 4-3-1-2 System next year with Grealish behind Jimenez and Rashford. Martial and Greenwood as back ups. Fernandes as another advanced Centre Midfielder and have 2 others who can sit in midfield. Going forward you have Fernandes, Grealish, Jimenez, Rashford, with Full backs getting forward.
Realistically speaking, in a season with so many games of high intensity and with us playing a midfield 3, we need to have at least 5 quality players to play those games.
If we get Grealish, then we'll have our options as matic, Mctominay, Fred, bruno and Grealish and the first choice with everyone fit and on form a midfield of Grealish, bruno and Mctominay starts.

Yep, City stockpiles talented players like Graelish and lets them fight it out for playing time. We should do the same.
Yeah correct me if I'm wrong but I think he can play in a midfield two alongside say McTominay or Matic.
Would be a waste and probably a bad idea outside of specific tactics for parts of games. Could play in a 3 though.
We have bigger priorities than strengthening our squad right now. We need to sort out who's playing week in week out.
We do that. Then someone gets hurt. Then back to square one. Has literally been Oles entire reign. Might be worth having better options in the squad so hes not caught short every second week
The players sort that out, who plays week in, week out. If there's healthy competition, someone will come out on top more times than not and that's not including injuries.
If Grealish is willing and able to come and compete for playing time, let alone starting, then he'll be a very good addition to the team. Haul someone off at half time or the hour mark knowing that Grealish or whomever will give max effort with quality to mix in. Rather have legitimate quality options than just options like Lingard, Pereria, Chong, etc.
We haven't signed a proper RW for a decade, we are short of a striker since Lukaku left. This is what needs to be addressed with a tight budget before anything else and I stand by that.
When have Maguire, Wan-Bissaka or Bruno (so far) ever been injured since signing them for the first XI? It's the usual suspects that are injured bar freak injuries from Rashford and Pogba. We're slowly getting there with signing the right calibre players for the right positions, I'd rather we addressed the RW position, then Striker, positions that we have really neglected (RW for years now) than to sign another midfielder. Maybe after that we go for him but it doesn't make sense to me to blow 50M+ of the budget on someone that isn't in a priority position, just screams our old transfer style under Woodward.
We are not in a position to stockpile. We have other areas to fix. I still want him due to his versatility, i'm just against that reasoning.
Agreed, it's not that I don't like him as a player. By all means go for him after we've used our budget on priority positions.
There seems to be a real dearth of wingers that play on the right. Grealish has all the attributes to fill the role. You never know a player's best position until you give them time to learn the role. Wingers used to be able to play on both sides. Even if he is live Silva or Pires, and comes inside to create ( like Ziyech or Di Maria) it would give us ample creativity.
AWB had a back injury and Maguire had a hip flexor injury. Neither were long term thankfully. AWB was only out 2 weeks and Maguire about the same.
As for the RW position I 100% agree. But if a great player is available at a great price, upgrades your team, you have to take it.
We could be waiting another few years for the best RW for the team. If Ole decides he wants to play 352 more regularly for example, we might never get a specialist RW!
Yeah, this is sound logic. Otherwise we can end up unbalanced like napoli when they had lavezzi, cavani and hamsik (I think?). That would cause other levels of stress we don't need.

I agree, but there is a real scarcity of right wingers and we wouldn't want to find ourselves in a Arsenal-Nicholas Pepe situation. We cannot afford not to sign a right winger this summer either. I'm also not so sure on the availability of Sancho.

We've conceded 2 goals in the last 8 games. We’ve also had clean sheets against City, Chelsea and Wolves (2) this calendar year alone.
Half of them are against Partizan, Az Alkmar, Tranmere, Colchester and other teams with that "quality".
We only have clas CB in Maguire and good prospect CB in Tuanzebe
Class defensive RB in AWB and good prospect LB in Williams.
The rest is shit. Even De Gea in last 2 seasons.
Attack and midfield is priority for the summer but I hope we will stregnth our defence too with partner for Maguire.
