Quality player, but like majority of English players, he's a bit overrated. At the end of the day it really comes down to whether he'd want to be a sub for us. I can't see him breaking into starting 11 other than some Cup games and matches where we wanna rest some players.

Strange player, has all the talent but seems obsessed with showing that he has all the talent. He’s a bit like his shorts really...’look at me’. There is a player there but last night was all about winning more free kicks than anyone else, that’s no use to us. He’s got a hell of a lot to change in his game if he wants to play for a bigger club.
We're mugs if we splash out big money for this lad. He doesn't improve the first team, isn't that young, seems to have shown some signs of being a bit of a knob and I hate his hair.

According to who? I guess the other players are asking too because they have the same shorts. Hause’s don’t even make it a quarter way down his thighs.
And what’s the fascination with his shin pads like he’s the only one to wear small ones? Half the league does it. I do it, every good player I’ve played with who has gone pro does it. Toni Kroos doesn’t even wear kid shin pads, he wears a small bit of padding under his knee which isn’t even a conventional shin pad.

I think either of him or VDB improves our team in terms of depth quality. Bruno/Pogba won't be able to play every game and I will be confident if either Grealish/VDB come in for them when needed. We have a fantastic starting 11. We just need players who can come in their place when needed and still maintain the quality in the starting team. I'm confident that Fred and McTominay can come in to deputise for Matic and the box to box role but I'm not confident anyone can come in to handle the creativity from midfield if Pogba/Bruno is rested.

He's second behind De Bruyne for chances created this season, playing in arguably the worst team in the league. One game after quarantine and you're all dumping on him, now I agree we shouldn't pay a hefty fee, but if we can get him for a reasonable one we'd be stupid not to, he's leagues above the likes of Lingard and Pereira.

Great ability but not a great player. He's a ball hog and his first thought when he gets the ball is to run with it. We have no use for a player like that. Not with the likes of Sancho in the market.
Throw him on instead of Andreas and his quality would shine. He's playing for such a poor side and is having to do so much its ridiculous.
He's basically at the point where he could be a normal starter for a europa league team or a highly ranked squad player for a CL team (still starting plenty of games). There isn't really a 'right' answer there. Some players would strongly prefer one or the other, and some players would be quite happy for either.
Exactly, stick him in with better players or in a side like United or city with much better movement and you’ll see how good he is. He will grow better and better in the right team.

But I don't think he's better than Rashford and Fernandes and unfortunately for him they are two of our strong points this season.

If we’re talking signing him for squad depth to take the mata/pereira position in the squad then fine, but he’s not good enough to be a regular starter imo. The prices quoted are far too high however and there must be better value out there.

I’d definitely sign him as a Lingard/Pereira/Mata replacement. Bruno can’t play every game next season and the creativity drops big time when he isn’t on the pitch. Grealish would be a quality addition to fill in when needed but also would start plenty games throughout the season anyway if we’re aiming to challenge in all competitions.
Im wondering if this might be because of how poor Villa as a whole is. I think hes probably their best outfield player. but I think progress can be stopped when you get to a certain level with the players around you. I dont expect him to get any better at Villa, but if hes training and playing with better players, he will improve and certainly not be the focal point which will help him too with regards to getting space.
I do agree he needs to change / improve his game but I think he needs a move to do that.
Leicester may well get into the CL this season, but how long will that continue? Ourselves and Chelsea are showing strong reason to believe that going forward over the next few years that we will join Liverpool and City as the top four with the likes of Leicester/Arsenal/Wolves/Spurs playing catch-up. Meanwhile Leicester are very reliant on an ageing Vardy who surely can keep it up too much longer. The fact that we're now favourites to beat them to top four this season even after all the injuries and issues we had for the first half of the season says it all. Obviously things often don't work out as expected, but in this case hopefully it will.
Better to use money on all round cm, a nr.8 and 6 in need. In Kristoffer Olsson from Krasnodar in Russian League. For 20-25 mill £. Krasnodar paid around 5 £ mill. A big scoup. Add 4 timed. 5x4 = Then Krasnodar should be satisfy with that.

He would not be a benchwarmer. Neither Rashford or Martial are consistent enough to consistently keep a player like him on the bench and Greenwood is still young. Add that to the fact that Bruno and Pogba may need rest or can get injuries and you have an ample amount of games that he will play, particularly with cup games and UCl fixtures. People also need to get into the mindset that competition for places can exist. If he proves to us that he is a better player than Martial, Rashford or Greenwood, he would replace them as our starters. If he is not, he wouldn't. I don't see why that is such a problem.
Furthermore, City have Bernardo Silva, Gundogan and Gabriel Jesus on their bench. Would you think they would be willing to sit on their bench when they signed? Do you think Grealish thinks Rashford, Martial or Greenwood are better than him?
At Real Madrid, players like Isco, Asensio and Jovic sit on the bench, at Bayern Goretzka, Javi Martinez, Tolisso and Sule sit on the bench. At Barcelona, Vidal, Umtiti, Rakitic and Dembele sit on the bench. I don't see why its such an issue.

Yeah I think that is a very good point and agree that we shouldn't pay any more than £40m. I have been very much in the Grealish over Van Der Beek camp but now will admit I have very serious concerns if he has it in him to step up for Utd when required.
But he doesn’t need to “standout”. It’s obviously easier standing out in a bad side. But in a good side you don’t need to be a standout player. Just be a team player and do your job. As long as he does what he is asked professionally then that’s good enough.
Yeah I totally agree and hope we target the likes of Konate & Upamecano, I can't decide if we need a backup AM who could potentially play both deep and further forward like VDB or someone who is purely an attacking option like a Grealish.
It’s a no brainer to get this guy for me. He is still young, english, hungry and a character. He also seems to like the club. Just the kind of transfer we used to do with Fergie. Bruno and Pogba has been great but we need creative talent additional to them. After corona Grealish will noe be that expensive and I think he will accept a squad player role here. Mata, Pereira and Lingard out. Sancho and Grealish in, we will have a squad with lesser players but with much higher quality

I have asked the question before in my head if any player has ever made a thread on a forum of a club he wants to play, like if a Watford player fancied a move to Utd that he'd make an account and put his name forward in every thread.
If Pogba turned around at the end of the season and demanded to leave then I'd take Grealish. He could do a job but there's question marks over his attitude. Perhaps too much of a Jack the lad.

I'm not going to overreact over one poor performance. I would still love to have Grealish as a rotation option here (with plenty of starting opportunities), assuming that Villa are getting relegated, and he's available for relatively cheap fee (lets say 40 mill GBP). He can massively improve our depth and allow us to replace the likes of Lingard, Perreira, Mata by himself, since he's a versatile player who can play in their positions. Additionally, injuries are inevitable, and if Bruno were to get injured for example, Grealish can be an excellent backup for him.
