Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Eleven that would walk the Premier League

Many of us pretend that technique matters more than size. Here's 11 reasons to believe it:

------------------------Higuita
Lahm-Ivan Cordoba-Cannavaro-R.Carlos
-------------Scholes--Shaqiri--Xavi
--------Messi--Maradona-A.Sanchez

Shaqiri???

Played in England, max height 1.70 / 1.75 for GK/CBs:

Death
Wright - Mascherano - Martinez
Kante - Bremner - Scholes - Davids
Johnstone - Simonsen - Zola

Subs: Alan Wright, Stiles, Ball, Strachan, Juninho

You've gotta compare like with like so either all time shorties v all time lankys or present day shorties v present day lankys.
If you can get the appropriate keeper, it's pretty much a wash for the short guys. They have a ridiculous team with the 3 greatest of all time (whichever you prefer from Pele, Maradona and Messi) in the side.

Pace, aggression, mobility, technical brilliance out the hoo har.

A 5'8 - 6'2 team would be the one to give both sides a game.

As an aside this was an idea for a thread I had many moons ago that I left on the table because I couldn't be bothered compiling a 6'4" and above side. I used 6'4 as the cut off, but 6'3 brings a whole slew of great players into that team and makes it an easy build.

Not that I’m aware of, but obviously depends on your cut off as keepers in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s weren’t particularly tall, or certainly not default towering, as a whole anyway.

I see your Lamptey and up you with a Santi! Who was actually really, really good, just not good enough to get ahead of a Kante or Makelele, but if the cut off becomes 5’6” then Scholes and a few others get the chop and he’s probably in the team (played in England). Zola also enters the fray then, probably.
Santi is a good one. I didn't think Makelele would be short enough. Surely we wanna be making the cut off point as unreasonable as possible while still being technically doable?

Midget busters XI

Gk - Courtois
Lb - Dan Burn
Cb - Pallister
Cb - Van Dijk
Rb - Viv Anderson
Lw - Ian Ormondroyd
Cm - Viera
Cm - Pogba
Rw - Ronaldo
Cf - Van Nistelrooy
Cf - Ibrahimovic

Subs
Yaya Toure, Crouch, Kompany, Haaland

All must have played English football

My opposite 25 player squad (height of at least 190cm) would be as follows:

GK: Gianluigi Buffon
GK: Manuel Neuer
GK: Peter Schmeichel
CB: Laurent Blanc
CB/RB: Jerome Boateng
CB: Rune Bratseth
CB: Jaap Stam
CB: Virgil van Dijk
CB: Nemanja Vidic
LB/CB/RB: Giacinto Facchetti
LB: Fabio Grosso
DM/CB/LB/RB: Srecko Katanec
DM: Antonio Rattin
DM: Rodri
CM/CB: Frank Rijkaard
CM: Glenn Stromberg
CM: Patrick Vieira
AM/RW/ST/CM/CB: Ruud Gullit
AM: Socrates
LW/LB/AM/ST: Ivica Surjak
ST: Franz Binder
ST: Erling Haaland
ST: Zlatan Ibrahimovic
ST/LW: Mario Mandzukic
ST: Torbjorn Nilsson

This team would play a 4-3-3 formation with the following line up:

GK: Manuel Neuer
RB: Srecko Katanec
CB: Jaap Stam
CB: Virgil van Dijk
LB: Giacinto Facchetti
DM: Rodri
CM: Frank Rijkaard
CM: Patrick Vieira
RW: Ruud Gullit
ST: Erling Haaland
LW: Ivica Surjak

Depending on opposition Socrates could replace Vieira. Alternatively a 3-5-2/5-3-2 could be played with Bratseth as the 3rd CB, Facchetti and Gullit at WB, Vieira and Rijkaard at CM, Socrates as an AM and a Zlatan and Haaland strike partnership

Other Options Considered:
GK: Alisson
GK: Petr Cech
GK: Francesco Toldo
GK: Edwin van der Sar
CB: Tony Adams
CB/RB: Markus Babbel
CB/RB: Vedran Corluka
CB/RB/LB/DM: John O'Shea
CB: Gerard Pique
CB: Raphael Varane
DM: Nemanja Matic
CM: Paul Pogba
AM/CM: Nicolae Simatoc
ST: Oliver Bierhoff
ST: Edin Dzeko
ST/RW: Jostein Flo
ST: Tore Andre Flo
ST/AM: Nwankwo Kanu
ST/LW: Marcus Thuram
ST: David Trezeguet
ST: Alejandro Villanueva
