It's all over now....

It never is until the last minute, that's what I think, and I think that's what the players think. It's called the United spirit, ever heard of it? Losing to Boro made things harder for us, easier for Arsenal, but losing hope and faith would only make things worse.

Well you have found the game in hand situation again, but the points are still missing, I guess...

I'd say so... with the games you have coming up this one should have been a banker. Arsenal will now be title faves. You MUST beat them now and hope that you get something out of the Chelsea and Leeds games.

Let's revisit this in a month or two shall we Softie

I really cant see Arsenal slipping up at all, we may even have problems finishing second!!!

They still have two London derbys and a game versus a small club from Manchester... ;)

Personnally if we dont win the title the it dosent matter whether we finish 2 or 3rd only the title matters. So if it has to be somebody else i vote for I cant I hate both them bastards I guess pool deserves it :(

The small matter of NOT playing Champions League qualifiers would be important.

He just isnt playing good enough to be in the team! Scholes should be ahead of him.

what a huge mistake!!!!!
:(

Today's loss was not just down to Veron -- it was at least IMP a whole lack of team performace as well as a very well organised Steve McClaren team -- time wasting, using speed going forward etc.

And I don't think we just lost the championship today we lost it by our rotten early season --

There are changes needed -- Forlan looks like a great midfield player, a grafter, but not a striker. So we need a striker badly in particular with Ole out!

We also need a defender or two -- Blanc's ability to read the game is not enough, speed to needed too at this level!

I never thought I'd see the day when United lack of squad would be an issue!

BUT I don't read any fat lady singing! No trophy has been given out!

And there is always Europe!

Forever United!!

AMIR understand your point but if the unthinkable happens and we finish third we would be matched against a team not close to our class. My point is at united we dont strive to finish second we strive to win the championship. I believe most on this board agree with me. If arse or pool win then good on them tip of the cap and we go on, We still have massive games left against Depor and possibly pool. THis season can still end in glory!

not over yet!!!!!
we are UNNITED!!!!!

We'll qualify by being holders. ;) Actually all is NOT over, nothing is until we are mathematically beaten. Before this match, we had to win the rest of our matches to win the title. After this match, we have to win the rest of our matches (no changes here) and hope for Arsenal and Pool to slip up. The lads have made things tougher, but I would like to believe they will get through it.

But it does matter where we finishes, even IF we are not the champions. Getting third would be refreshing, but no thanks.

IT shows the gulf at how united fans look at things compared to pool and arse or leeds. United fans expect to win the title every year and perform well in the Champions league. Short of that we are dissapointed. ARSE leeds and Pool fans just want to qualify for the champions league and are shocked when they might pip the title from us. Does any pool fan arse fan or leeds fan think they won this thing and united didnt throw it away?

Its all in Arsenals hands now. its up to them to lose it. United simply have to win EVERY game now till the end of the season and hope that Arsenal slip up. United can beat them and then the pressure would be back on...

Realistically though, my heart says United but my head says the Arse wont chuck it away now.

no point in pointing blame, doesnt help. get behind the lads for the rest of the season and lets give it our best shot!

Fair point. Except if Scholes had been on, we might have had more bite in the attack.

Losing is one thing. But I find it frustrating that Scholesy was left on the bench, after two great performances against West Ham and Boavista.

I've never been a great fan of Scholes, but I do have an awful lot of respect for him... cuz he knows when to perform well... and yes... the lad deserves a good run of 1st-team-footy after WHU and Boavista... (we seem to agree on most don't we??? It ends up like this in the other threads aswell... :) )

The bad spell we had at the begining of the season has cost us . If we had won the games at OT against W Ham & Bolton , we would be sitting pretty at the top and looking towards aother championship trophy . Its comforting at least to see the only reason the Arse & Poo are in a good position is not due to their improved quality but because we have tripped ourselves up . Some people on this forum refer to the Arses form at the moment . What about the performances against De Portivo & Juve . The Arse were absolute shite . I still think they will slip up . We will stuff them at OT and win the title.

So if the other teams like Liverpool, Leeds, Chelsea, Newcastle or Arsenal hadn't had their 'bad spells' they'd all be doing the same, what an embarrassingly shallow argument you put forward.

Whoever wins the league, be it Liverpool or Arsenal, will have been the most consistant side over the 38 games... that's all it boils down to. The winners will have done so on their own merits not on the failings of others.

He just seems to play in different game than the rest of his teammates. He seems so out of sync. He shows signs of brilliance from time to time, but then completely looks awfull for a player of his stature. I expected a whole lot more of him.. Going into this season is was worried more about RVN contibution than Veron's. I thought Veron would have made a huge difference.
