Italian Serie A - 2019-20

Imagine if we are approaching an age where we and AC Milan aren't joining forces in being absolutely shit like most part of last decade, and actually start winning titles again.

Milan peaking perhaps a tad too late. Another good performance. Might be harsh on Pioli if he gets canned next season, he has some of the players playing in a way that was yet to be seen. Interesting to see how Ragnick will shake things up.

AC Milan and United are said to be the two top teams that are declining in this decade.

Key players
AC Milan - Zlatan, joined 27 Dec 19
United - Bruno, joined 30 Jan 20

Since then...

2020
AC Milan - DWWWDLWDLWWDWWDWW
United - DWDWWDWWWDWWWWWDW

Before that, results of both teams are pure rubbishes for top team standard.

Coincidence?
No freaking way.

Conclusion?
Importance of genuine leadership (not the fake one like shouting to teammates a lot).

Looked at the table and found that Inter is only 6 points behind Juve, a week earlier they looked like they would only be 4th or 3rd at best.

This seems like one of the weirdest seasons in a while.

Inter really messed up after winning the derby in February. They won't win their last 5 anyway.

Mkhi and Sanchez are looking like the best players on the pitch today

Milan leading the post lockdown goal scoring table.

Bonucci gave a penalty away with the exact same tackle as on Martial yesterday. Referee gave an immediate pen, no need for VAR. Mike Dean gives nothing, VAR looks at is and says yeah nothing wrong with that when it was the exact same tackle Lazio just got a pen for.

Amazing how similar they are

the one on Martial , if in the penalty area, is even more blatant. How come they didn't give the penalty/free kick? o.O another weird brith rule? if you try but fail it's ok thing?

Because Lampard influenced the refs prior to the game with his nonsensical talk about var favouring us. Even though a Southampton player had only just got away scott free with a potential leg breaker on Greenwood.

How many more points does Juventus need to win the Scudetto? Also well done to Ronaldo for scoring a brace, it's funny how some people have said he's finished at the elite level and he needs to go to MLS in 2-3 more years.

If I remember correctly, they need 4 points. Assuming inter win all their games that is.

Mihajlovic got Gasperini kicked off the sidelines as Atalanta end the first half level with Bologna at 0-0.

Ibracadabra show!
Nice to see he’s still running the show in Serie A at 38..

Ibra has lifted this Milan side. They are way better since he joined them.
Although strangly not from scoring a lot.
I think he is on 8 goals now only. Which is low numbers for Ibra.

Milan offered the role of technical director to Ragnick, and he has apparently turned them down as he wanted more control. Pioli will stay on as manager, for now.

He's made a big impact in their mentality for sure. But a lot has changed and the injury list has become a lot smaller so it's not just Ibra coming in that has changed things.

I think they'll fight for 4th place next season even if he goes.

A bit like with Bruno and us then. Although Bruno has been more important to our football than I think Ibra is for Milans.

Milan have officially extended Pioli's contract until 2022. Here's hoping the squad keeps improving under him.

Ibra has certainly lifted AC but, unlike Bruno for us, do you really want a 38 year old to be the one to inspire you ?

Milan should do everything they can to keep Zlatan actually

The impact he's had on their team is absurd. They've been great since the restart but they were already putting in the performances in the 2 months pre-lockdown. Ever since Zlatan set foot back at milanello...
