Israeli - Palestinian Conflict

Even Apartheid South Africa had propaganda to discourage boycotts, no one's buying the subterfuge

We've been through tougher challenges including some pretty rough boycotts before. You're more than welcome to pick the Israeli goods you prefer not to buy in order to make a political statement.

I think it was, for parliament in a presidential PA political system. Then it forcefully took power in the GS and the Palestinians never got the chance to vote again. Your point?

No, Fatah with the backing of the US, Israel and other Western allies attempted a coup and lost

Hehe...The only help Israel provided was treating the Fatah personnel shot in the knees by their Hama's bros. Mostly in the same hospital where Hama's officials send their family members these days. Zionist hospitals.

Steal someone's home by force and then terrorize them for decades, most would give up. Glad the Palestinians are not, even Botha's regime seemed impossible to topple but South Africans didn't give up either

Terrorize, steal , Botha, Apartheid...blah, blah fecking blah. When offering them to switch from this racist rule to self rule they cry again at the racist suggestion. Born to suffer under the brutal Zionist rule. To be honest I know where they come from. They must have the ability to look around neighbouring countries and see the alternative.

Even attempts to rewrite history & redraw maps have failed. There's a reason why Israel is isolated Internationally and it will continue to worsen so long as their terror policies continue towards the indigenous people of the land. But sure, spin spin spin away

Dr. Hajo Meyer, one of the last living Auschwitz survivors:
“The Israelis tried to dehumanise the Palestinians, just like the Nazis tried to dehumanise me. Nobody should dehumanise any other and those who try to dehumanise another are not human.

“It may be that Israel is not the most cruel country in the world … but one thing I know for sure is that Israel is the world champion in pretending to be civilised and cultured.”

Former Shen Bet Security Chiefs, Avraham Shalom (Holocaust survivor too) & Carmi Gillon:

"We are making the lives of millions unbearable, into prolonged human suffering, [and] it kills me,” Carmi Gillon says. “[We’ve become] a brutal occupation force similar to the Germans in World War II".

Suzanne Weiss, who was a little girl when her parents were killed as the Nazis occupied France, said:
“The Palestinians are the victims of ethnic cleansing and apartheid. The Israeli government’s actions toward the Palestinians awaken horrific memories of my family’s experiences under Hitlerism: the inhuman walls, the checkpoints, the daily humiliations, killings, diseases, the systematic deprivation. There’s no escaping the fact that Israel has occupied the entire country of Palestine, and taken most of the land, while the Palestinians have been expelled, walled off and deprived of human rights and human dignity.”

There are others of course, particularly Holocaust survivors like Hedy Epstein or Jewish activists & journalists around the globe from Chomsky to Gideon Levy

Unfortunately Abbas is slowly giving in just to have a tap on the back by the Likoud murderers, but the fight will never end.

Democracy

Quoted from the 60s when Israel was the darling of the West since those pesky Arabs chose to cuddle up with the dirty commies. What would MLK think of the occupation of Palestinian territories today I wonder? Heck, I'm sure he'd be thrilled with the treatment of African migrants.

Excuse me, but it is quite clear to everyone that we're discussing Israel's existence here and not its 1967 success.

Yep but good propaganda doesn't need to be logical

I think they will at least be 40% in the next 30 years.

Also they will have to stop annexing the West bank or it will be 70%. Arabs are over 50% and rising rapidly in the region. The birth rate in the West bank/Gaza strip is huge compared to the rest of the region.

So either Israel accepts the two state solution or they are faced with being a minority in a single state they are creating with their illegal settlements.

Not sure I agree about the numbers, but a one-state solution is definitely the worst possible scenario for people here.

Not accurate.

The last decade or so saw an increase in the number of Christian immigrants from the former Soviet Union which you probably see in that red area. In fact the birth rates among Israeli Arabs have fallen and an opposite trend is seen among Jews. I think it's clear from the graph that little has changes over the last 10-15 years in Jews/Muslims ratio in Israel.

Non Jews will pretty much back power sharing/recognizing Palestinian. They will consider it a small price to pay for stability and peace.

Simplistic.

As I said, the numbers you see include many European Christians who immigrated here are hardly your pro-Palestinian section in Israeli society. You can count the Druze out too. There is a growing number of Christian Arabs who realize the need to further integrate into Israeli society, and many Bedouins serve in the IDF too. Reality is way more complicated than Wiki graphs. People here, of all religions, appreciate what it is like living in a free, prosperous country.

Having said that, the majority of Jews seek peace and stability. However, they stop short of backing a collective national suicide.

Yet you openly admit and want to see Non-jews as second class citizens.

Not only I admit it, I don't think Jews have any other option if they are to maintain their reclaimed national independence. Not quite an utopian democracy? I agree, but considering both history and currnet geo-political circumstances I think Israel is pretty far from being the worst.

Israel is a nation state, and never tried to deny that. It was founded to provide refuge for persecuted Jews, and at the same time offers vast opprtunities to its minorities. Can Israel do better in that respect? Can its minorities do better in order to better integrate? I think the answer on both accounts is yes. Do most of Israel's "second class citizens" appreciate their fortune living under Israeli rule? well, they've just gave a clear and loud response...
