They'll have to catch him first.
You remember that old maxim for defenders? "You're going through or the ball's going through but you're not going through with the ball."

I recall, Ronaldo,Rooney...you name em, all getting kicked from pillar to post. You hope you have quality around you to take the heat

Yeah but footballs changed, you can't look at anybody now or you'll get a yellow card.

I get what you're saying but it only takes one tackle to either get the attacker to bottle it or do him some injury. Look what happened to Chong when playing Everton; a real cnut's tackle that went unpunished but put him out for months.

He'll have to adapt to English football, we may have stronger refereeing but the culture is still one where players put a foot in

I dont know if they do that at youth level though, I've seen games where opponents get away no punishment for fouls that would have been yellow/ borderline red cards at senior level

Here's Gomes at 13 years old against an u17 side for reference

You could already see his great vision here. With Aaroen, you can see he can run with the ball.

Who would have thought he had already achieved his peak physical maturity by then.

Is this guy actually any good? I've read about him more on here than in the Norwegian media... which is slightly worrying. Our media usually start the hype train when they're toddlers.

Him with Iqbal, Forson etc on U18s midfield next season would be fun to watch. Flair gang.

I know all pros have incredible touch compared to us mortals but he looks to have wonderful ball control there. Look forward to seeing him here and good luck to him.

Would it have killed the centre-forward to acknowledge the cross from a 15 year old kid, the miserable self-centred nobody.

The goalscorer is actually a Centreback that came in at the 74th minute playing as a striker and headed in 2 goals. Probably in shock!

I understand that Tromso wanted to keep him for the rest of the season, but United didn't want that. I can see the point in both cases. It will be good for Isak to come to Manchester and settle in, but it could be an idea to loan him out next season when Tromso will be in the highest division again.

Are Norway going to be the next generations Belgium with a big stream of the most promising youth?

Seem to hear of a new Norwegian wonderkid every week.

Hard to say, there was Mats Dæhli too was technically gifted but came to naught. England have had really high skill youth players in recent times like Patrick Roberts and Marcus Edwards who haven't been able to become top players either (Edwards's career is doing much better than Roberts at the moment).

Noggies producing some really technical players these days.

Not a complete surprise. This is the first gen who have played on artificial turf since the start. I'm a decade older than this guy and until the age of 12-13 we were playing a lot of our matches on horrific gravel pitches. You won those games by hoofing and having good aerial ability, technical players got nowhere because of the complete unpredictability of the pitches. Artificial has its downsides but is still a million times better than gravel.

Nah shouldn't come back here. He's 16 next week. Time to start playing on grass. Assuming he has lived in Tromsø his whole life he probably doesn't even know what natural grass looks like.

Thats such a weird thing to hear!! :wenger:

Come on mate. There's reason to get annoyed at times;this isn't one of them

Have to say, it was the first thing I noticed too. Hansen is literally a child and he's sent in a lovely little cross to put it on a plate for the scorer. Seems weird you wouldn't give some encouragement to a literal child that has done that.

A literal child?

How is he compared to Martin Ødegaard at that age?

Hard to compare, as Ødegaard was a freak. He ran the show at that age, same energy as the Ronaldo sub in his debut against Bolton.

Can't insert videos, but here's a link to one of Ødegaard shredding the league at 15.
