I think fabregas is more realistic...would love a bid in for him.barca don't and won't need him for several years..if fergie can convince him to come to united for a few years and win trophies with the challenge of filling scholes' shoes I'd be delighted.

Yeah but everyone knows what kind of character Rooney is. And there's a huge step up between Everton and United (and Arsenal, for that matter).

To be fair, I did point out that Everton we're not a CL side like Arsenal. But it's also worth remembering that Everton qualified for the CL the year after Rooney was sold to United.
