Is Wilshere a realistic target?

I know it seems unlikely but how much would it take for United to tempt Arsenal and/or unsettle Wilshere? I know the concept of bidding for a rival clubs player is alien for many but it really isn't that impossible if we do indeed have money to invest.

I would like to see Fergie test the water with a substantial bid to get the player thinking at least. Even though it is likely Arsenal will refuse it will unsettle the player at least, just like Barca did with Princesc.

Any chance Fergie will have a pop for him?

be nice to express an interest - plant a seed maybe

i like wilshere a lot, good passer, great energy and i like his aggression

Never going to happen if for no other reason than if the board were to say to Wenger who wouldn't want to sell look it's to good an offer he's going to strengthen a rival I think Wenger would walk and rightly so what's pointi in developing players if you get a half decent one and sell them. If you were going to try it for anybody try it for Fabregas.

Definitely not now, if they consistently fail to get a CL place then it would be possible, but Chelsea and City would probably take him.

He's a realistic target in terms of what we need, and there's not a lot to say why he couldn't be tempted. I don't see any embedded loyalty he'd have to Arsenal!

But is it realistic that he'll be at United next year is doubtful because I can't see Arsenal selling unless he explicitly forced a move.

Arsenal are going to have to rebuild and Wilshere, more than Fabregas is who Wenger should focus their first 8-. So as good as it'd be, I couldn't see it happening, unfortunately.

Torres joined Liverpool as an adult, not a kid, and was forced to change clubs to have any chance of playing CL football, either this season or next.

That's two reasons right there.

Besides, if there's any chance of Fabregas getting a move out of Arsenal he'll end up at Barca. He's made that very clear.

you guys are all very negative

not many people turn down the chance to play for United when they come calling, its time to flex our muscles and try things. Otherwise, CL wise, we'll remain in Barca's shadow

Yes, but just this season has Wilshere been promoted to the first team. He is one of, if not the most, promising youngsters of English football. He is also one of a kind with good passing skills and an excellent read of the game. There is no way Arsenal will even entertain the thought of selling him and there is no reason for him to leave. He seems to be a Gooner through and through and will be a mainstay in the Arsenal midfield department for years to come.

I'd take Wilshere at United in a heart-beat but there's no way we'd get them.

He seems very much embedded at Arsenal, has declared his love for them on the social outlets at will and seems quite anti-United whilst he's at it.

Very doubtful; unfortunately for him, he's joining a side who have been in decline for some time and we might even see Arsenal drop out the Top Four in the next year or two, that's my bold prediction...if they do, then we may see him move him to one of de rigeur European teams.

No way, not right now at least, they'll all commit mass suicide before they sell him to us.

You may try to sign him in FM. But even so don't think its possible.

I think there is much more chance we'd sell Fabregas to United than Wilshere.

Rather make a serious move for Fabregas to be honest. Go for the finished article rather then someone who's still rough around the edges. He'll be a good player, no doubt bout it. But if Barca don't make their move this summer, and Fab wants to win silverware maybe, there's an outside chance he might be tempted to come up north.

Wishful thinking i know, but you never know...

Yes very realistic. Rival PL clubs sell their most valuable asset to eachother all the time

Silvestre for example
