Is today going to be the overriding memory of this season?

Liverpool finished 2nd and we finished 7th. Yet we always defined that season of them around the Gerrard slip.
I expect the same reaction from them this time.
Gerrard's slip (and Crystanbul) cost them the league, and came right after the media, horny for a Liverpool league title, filmed the brave lads having a huddle, with Captain Fantastic telling his boys "we do not let this slip!" And then he did, and then they did.

That's the reason the slip is the defining moment for Liverpool that season. Our 6-1 loss to City at OT, in a season where we lost the title on goal difference, is barely remembered in comparison.

Season's not finished yet. If we secure top 4, win the FA and EL cups then it would go some way to banish the bad taste of yesterday.

Even if we do the cup treble, looking back is this still going to be the season that we had 7 put past us by Liverpool?
If we win one more trophy it will be forgotten but if we win nothing then yes this will sting a lot more.

Anyone who’s more concerned with a result against Liverpool (as horrendous as it was) than winning trophies and our overall achievements this year have their priorities wrong.

Park it and improve. Finish the year strong.

Erm if we did that then yesterday would be absolutely irrelevant.

My nephew's girlfriend's twat of a brother DM'd me with this bullshit today. Makes you want to vomit.

Seems like some really rate the Carabao Cup, it was good to win some silverware and hopefully the first step to more but it is not some season-defining achievement to me.
