He doesn't need to slag off Veron for that, do you Stan. ;)

Stan = fool with his head up his own arse

;)

Disagree. Slaggin off a player who's clearly quality gets egg on your face.

Stan = great football talent spotter

;)

Stan is generally a stool anyway, so the Verón issue is not surprising

During the match I thought Veron started off well then tailed off in the second half. It was only when Sky put some clips of the passes he made throughout the match that I realised he'd had a good game again.

Verón is class, I've said it all along, and I will continue to say it. Never doubted him, or SAF's decision to buy him. He is now almost adjusted to English football, and when totally adapted he will be fantastic.

JSV winks too much! Stan is a stool when talking about football, and not a very solid stool at that. A bit sloppy actually.

For my twopennorth - Stan was guilty of lack of faith like a lot of us. But that's all.

He told it as it was at the time, and it's true that it's only been the past couple of weeks that Seba has performed like a real EPL player.

All credit to those who believed. But altho I liked Seba, I didn't see any real signs that he could adapt. I also said I'd be glad to be proved wrong.

Long may it continue.

he put Giggs through for the third time in as many games, with excellent long passes from deep...

Veron, Outstanding beyond the midfield, best passer in the team. Lack of concentrations in last 10 minutes in both WestHam and Chelsea game. Overcome this and more attempt of goal when chances come will bring him perfect.

i remember when almost everyone were begging to stop his long passes...

they're magical now aren't they! :D

Come on then Stan you cockney cnut, what have you got to say for yourself?

;)

Stan refuses to acknowledge even that.

A simple concept:

Passes are good/magical when they hit their target. Crap/dangerous when they don't.

Last season Veron's long passes were far from being 'magical', and how some people failed/refused to notice is beyond me. That doesn't mean he's not playing well at the moment and should get the credit he deserves though... :)

That's because they're finding team-mates now.

Altho I think he's concentrating more on short passes.

His game is certainly more varied these days, and that's the key to his success IMO. He uses fewer touches, thus keeping the pace of the game up instead of dragging it down like he used to. It also reduce the danger of being knocked off the ball like he regularly was in his worst patch.

there's more space for him to pass the ball around...

btw, i'd love to know his opta stats from last year.

well he's played well in europe so he's actually had about 6-9 good games.

I have been on a bit of a roller coaster with veron; In his first year i was totally on his side and defending him saying we should give him another year. I patiently waited for things to 'click' this year only to reach the half-way point in the season and find that things are still not working out - i then ran out of patience as sticking with him seemed to be costing us games and then POW! right out of the blue he starts getting his groove going, so now I'm at the point were i'm willing to give him more time and hope that the real veron has now put his boots on.

Well the man himself said last week he hadn't played well since he came here. I guess he knows.

Wasnt he nr 1 in Europe for passes completed?
Veron being a sloppy player is a myth.

I was too busy to read this today my Blind friends

Of course a couple of goals and doing what he is paid to do is not going to make me think any more of the Bald headed Argentinian Twat

Merry Xmas

You would have to admit that he does give the ball away sometimes in areas that roy keane would not... i still hold my breath everytime he gets a pass on the edge of our own box...

David Beckham gave he ball away and cost us the game in the Bolton match.
All players give the ball away from time to time, Veron gets highlighted for it wheras others get away with it.

Murt, do you not think its understandable that more is expected of Veron?

Why should we expect more from Veron than the rest of our best player?
If anything Veron should have been excused for last season seeing as he was from a totally different league, culture, climate, language.
Its ridiculous & ignorant to single out players and criticise some for poor performances and turn a blind eye to the others.
Keane & Ruud were the only two that performed consistently well last season, of the 15 or so others Veron (and to a lesser degree Forlan nb two south americans) get the most criticism.

I just wanted his pass/completion stats.

I know he wasn't at his best.... but he moved to United at a time when we weren't exactly the best team in the land.. and even the great platini said its tough for playmakers to settle in the English game... all this plus the fact that he came from a completely different culture, climate etc etc.

He's got immense talent...even keane was amazed with his ability during training.
