Giggs has said it himself: he was born in Wales to two Welsh parents who both had Welsh parents. Therefore he could never have played for England even if he had wanted to.

He never played for England, but for English Schoolboys, which is a team selected from boys attending school in England, nothing to do with nationality. If Veron stayed here and sent his son to school here, the boy could play for England Schoolboys, but obviously not for England.

Yeah his dad was a big star for Swinton Lions, playing stand off, not on the wing. He was certainly the star of the team when he played.

Ryan was born as Ryan Wilson but changed his surname when his parents separated and I've heard he chose Wales to play for because it's where his mum is from as he didn't want to represent his dads country.

He has said ( and it has been quoted here) that he plays for Wales because his parents are both Welsh and that is where he was born. end of story.
