Is Robert Lewandowski a cow?

It's a subjective opinion at the end of the day, he scores goals but in those big ties in the CL he's underwhelmed for me. Especially during the years of 2014-2018, I remember when he played he missed quite a few big chances and generally wasn't that good.

Of course being the focal striker in a team like Bayern, and in general being a very good goal scorer, he will score. It's just the talk of being one of the best ever is a little too far for me, he's not as good as the likes of Suarez and even Benzema who were great goalscorers but also had phenomenal all round play.
Fair enough, I do remember thinking in that time frame in some decisive games he could have done more. Those decisive games being the ones when Bayern went out of the CL. I just think it's unfair to discount the important games that came before that. And more importantly, isn't that how it is for all players to some extent? Unless the team keeps winning the CL, the match that their team loses will naturally be the game the player in question could have done more, at least that will be the perception.

Overall I feel there are very few matches he didn't show up in. And likewise it's not like Benzema and Suarez have always been consistently excellent. Suarez in particular had a very high peak, but his CL record is definitely not better than Lewandowski's.

I genuinely don’t understand this ‘complete striker’ bollocks.

He’s the best striker in the world and has been for years.
But that wasn't the question. Of course Lewadowski is the best striker in the world, he's not the most complete. He can't dribble, pass, create for others, drop deep, etc like Benzema. It's not rocket science. Let's put it this way, if I have excellent chance creation from my midfield, I'd rather have Lewa. Otherwise, give me Benzema every day and I'll get more out of him than Lewa. Different situations demand different types of #9's.

No chance.

I mean you're plain wrong and/or don't watch either if you think Lewandowski is a more complete player than Benzema.

I am not Lewandowski's biggest fan but surely to be complete striker you need to be great scorer for a start, something that Benzema clearly isn't?
Benzema is a good enough finisher, I don't have conversion percentage, for sure I'd rather have Lewandowski instead of Benzema if there's a good chance in the box, but I wouldn't be sad about having Benzema in there either, let's not exaggerate with 'clearly' when you want to say Benzema isn't a scorer. You have to put into context his career where he catered to CR7 mainly and when he became the main man had excellent returns despite a much weaker team than Lewandowski has had since he's been at Bayern.

I fully disagree.
Yeah, but that's the easy way out. Justify why, because I'd genuinely be amazed if you could come up with valid reasons why Lewandowski is a more complete player than Benzema. Does he dribble as well? Does he pass as well? Can he drop deep and create for himself or others like Benzema? Again, complete doesn't mean better. Lebron James is a more complete player than Michael Jordan, I'd still rather have MJ on my team if I want to win.

Did I just detect a sporting fan criticize Ronaldo? Surely not.
You are right about the annoying part, of course
I am not criticizing him directly for what he does but his pro and anti fans are equally annoying.

I’m not sure what’s more worrying the thread title or the posts about Benzema been better than him.

Think Lewandowski suffers the same problems as Ronaldo when they are playing for the NT. Both are expected to deliver the same output as Ronaldo had at Real Madrid or Lewa at Bayern. For Ronaldo it's even more visible against the top NT's, while Lewandowski I struggle to remember him at International Tournaments, great on the qualifiers, he scored a goal against Portugal in Euro 2016 but the pressure on players like him or Ronaldo for their countries is ridiculously high, even if on Ronaldo case he and his annoying fans don't help his cause tbh.
Err… so much sufferings and problems for Ronaldo for scoring just 104 goals for Portugal and winning the Euro. Not a good example.

You laugh at him now but will regret it in 2 years when he becomes our newest veteran striker and shows a 27 y.o Martial how it's done. Martial then gets his no 9 taken by Lewa and decides not to celebrate his tap ins to show us just how mad he is and he ends the season with 6 goals to proof hes better then Lewa.

Benzema is a goalscorer just not an elite one. His all around contribution is definitely elite for a CF though which isn't the case with Lewandowski. I reckon the latter is still the better of the two though given this freakish goslscoring phase of his career. Suarez for me out of the recent lot is better than them all and the finest CF of his generation.
