Is Robert Lewandowski a cow?

He may be an excellent footballer but can he do this?

Jesus Christ. Need to work on my flexibility.

This complete argument always seems like trying to compensate for the fact that a striker isnt a very prolific goalscorer.

That's true, not sure it's a stick Kane and Benzema can be beat with, though
Kane is quite lethal, but is Benzema? His main role at Real always seemed to be the guy high fiving Ronaldo after he scored to me.

I dont really watch La Liga though so Im sure Im way off.

I have no stats, but that's such a nice description

He currently is the 5th best scorer in Real Madrid history and in his case we can talk about his completeness since he is also has the most assists.

How much of it is down to sheer time spent at the club. He's been there like what 12 years now?

Which is to his credit, you don't often play for Real Madrid 12 years particularly if you don't perform. Lewandowski is the better goalscorer, he finds himself at the end of a lot more goalscoring opportunities, that's his talent while Benzema is more about linking up.

Because he’s that complete of a striker Real Madrid haven’t had to replace their no.9 for those 12 years.

stop taking photos from my myspace page, they’re private.

Apologies. I was trying to ligthen the moo(d).

Turns out this has turned into a pretty serious Benzema vs Lewandowski debate.

Wonder if Benzema could do that, it might settle the debate.

Higuain has a very comparable record in terms of ratio to Benzema at Madrid. 0.45 for Higuain and 0.49 for Benzema. I think he's a really good player but he's simply not on the level of a Lewandowski. Lewa is putting up Ronaldo/Messi type numbers and he's 32.

And everyone has agreed with that point.

I don;t think they have.

The post you initially responded to clearly stated that Lewandowski was the best striker in the world, I said that Lewandowski was the best goalscorer. Hellhunter agreed with you too. You didn't see it because you are in love with Lewandowski. :p

Fair enough.

Harsh to judge him for his NT, but I will say that whenever I watched him in the big matches in the CL (against the likes of Real etc), he was never great for me. In terms of overall talent and play I'd rather have the likes of Benzema, Suarez etc.

Funnily enough, he has scored the most goals against Real Madrid in the CL than any other team he's faced (6 goals)

He also has 22 UCL knockout stage goals. 3rd best ever, of course behind Messi and Ronaldo.

Considering he got 5? Of them for dortmund 4 in one match that means in all the bayern games and the other Madrid dortmund ones he only scored once.

Benzema for one.

I am not Lewandowski's biggest fan but surely to be complete striker you need to be great scorer for a start, something that Benzema clearly isn't?

I know. Just thought it was funny he specifically mentioned Madrid and he's scored the most against them. For comparison, Benzema has not scored against Madrid in his career :wenger:

I don't think that's true. Generally these type of arguments seem very selective to me, because even in the CL teams don't necessarily meet that many teams you would classify as big matches and in hindsight some big matches against top teams stop counting because that top team was weak on the day.

There's hardly a team he hasn't scored against. Have a look at his CL record. How is that not a sensational record? Against "the likes of Real" he's scored 6 goals and assisted 1 in 8 matches for instance.

Quite sure it was left...

I have actually googled it by now and, Yeah it was left back in 2014.

Edit: no wait he played both. God he's so complete!
Fixed that for you!

Also, I was sure I'd seen him on the right, so that works out well for both of us then.

Yes, cows.

Benzema was more of a luxury rotation player most of his years at madrid. He became an untouchable regular when Real became shit.
Lewas link up play is just great, don't see any areas where Kane or Benz are better.

It's a subjective opinion at the end of the day, he scores goals but in those big ties in the CL he's underwhelmed for me. Especially during the years of 2014-2018, I remember when he played he missed quite a few big chances and generally wasn't that good.

Of course being the focal striker in a team like Bayern, and in general being a very good goal scorer, he will score. It's just the talk of being one of the best ever is a little too far for me, he's not as good as the likes of Suarez and even Benzema who were great goalscorers but also had phenomenal all round play.

Exactly his play with Muller is beautiful.

Wrong.
He was rotation when Higuain was there, who left in 2013, Benzema joined in 2009, 4 years certainly aren't most of his years at RM.

Though Morata did get some games, Benzema was a clear starter from 2013 onwards.
