Is our squad average? Yes.

It’s bang average and unbalanced, we need a massive overhaul for Amorim to stand a chance, this lot lacks any pace / brain / physicality/ technique bar a handful of players

The squad is average and it will be dismantled over the next 2-3 summers, just have to hope the recruitment is better and we don’t go round in a circle like we have done previously.

Rashford, Antony, Zirkzee ,Mount, Casemiro, Eriksen, Malacia, Lindelof, Evans, Shaw

Almost 10 players needed to be replaced!

It certainly seems that way, the depth in most areas is naff. And some of the starters are pulling up trees either.

On the bright side, if the new guys know how to utilise data and spot talent, it should be pretty easy to improve upon all of the shit players in our squad

Höjlund and Dalot are not good enough to start, and Garnacho and Martinez are not doing themselves any favours.

I am glad that most fans now agree on this. The players are not good enough.

It's a poor, unbalanced squad, sprinkled with huddys, uninterested and injury prone players. Most of whom would be nowhere near the United teams Sir Alex created.

This is ten Hag's legacy l. It will take ages to correct.

Don't get me wrong, it's not great but I don't think it's as bad as some are making out. There are gaps but the squad is good enough to compete for CL places in my opinion. There are obvious gaps but I don't think the gap in quality to miles away from other teams top teams (I do also think the quality has dropped at the top end too though).

Our squad is very average, we can't even name a full quality first 11, let alone subs.

It is a slightly above average squad brought down a level because of the lack of work ethic and focus a lot of the players have.

I think its alright.

Onana is top 5 keeper in the league. Defence looks pretty good in terms of quality and depth. Midfield has some depth, Ugarte has improved us significantly in that department. Attacking options are obviously very poor.

It's not a squad that will get you anywhere near winning the league but it's better than every other clubs except Liverpool, City, Arsenal and Chelsea. A decent manager will get a tune out of them.

Some of these players are actually more talented than they're showing but they're just thick as pig shite. They need to be told exactly what to do on a football pitch instead of trying to figure it out all on their own. Amorim has a big job on his hands.
I’d say I’d have Dalot at the top of the list.

It’s a bit unbalanced it’ll take as much incomings as it will outgoings. Our wage bill will improve once Rashford and Casemiro are let go and I’m hopeful that will be the end of insane wages at this club. A proper wage structure will bring the right players to the club not players arriving for a last paycheck / see out the end of their career.

Even if it were really good it would more or less be reinvented over 3 summers. That's an absolute age in football terms, let alone for a team that wants to progress and build on that progress, if it attains said progress.

We'll need to make much quicker changes than that. And I think we will. The new hierarchy briefed two or three times last season that everyone had a price, or everyone was for sale bar 3-4 players or some such. We're hearing the same again now. Only difference being plenty are out of contract and the hierarchy has actually assembled a structure of operators capable of making footballing decisions which is a novelty for United in the last 11 years.

I expect plenty of players to be let go for free, sold at a loss, pushed out, and sold at decent value. Can't imagine we go into the new season with Rashford, Lindelof, Eriksen, Shaw. There might be a stay of execution for Maguire. If serious offers come in for Garnacho and he's yet to adapt to Amorim's system and principles then I could see him sold at a favourable price. Can't imagine we won't try every creative solution possible to get Casemiro and his 300K weekly wage off the books.
Evans and Heaton won't be renewed.

It should take at most two summer windows to get a very good squad, but I am expecting the squad to be cleared of any unwanted players before the start of next season, even through unfavourable deals, just to clear the decks.

I actually don’t think our summer business was anywhere near as bad as being made out, our problems are much deeper than just one failed window and I still think we did strengthen the squad. Yoro looks like he’ll be a world class defender, don’t forget he only just turned 19. Mazraoui’s been our best player this season, de Ligt has been decent imo and no where near as bad as has being made out and I still wouldn’t give up on Zirkzee yet, there’s a player there.

Ideally it would be done in 2 but the reality is a lot of these players will see their contracts out because we can’t take the financial hit by selling them for losses and they’ll want big payoffs.

I imagine we’d love to get rid of Casemiro but there is still 15m of his fee left in on the books in the summer plus his 300k a week wages. With PSR already being an issue the club simply doesn’t have the luxury of getting rid of players quickly.
