More myth than legend.
You really think he's having digs at United (and anyone else who isnt sucking him off) because he cares about the club?If legends are based on football merit alone, then yes.
I think some people may not realize how right he is about the club, it takes guts to criticize publicly if you're not getting a reaction internally.
Football legend not United's.

He had a great season scoring 42. But in all honesty it was the Scholsey winner against Barca that got us in the CL final. CR7 scored the goal in the final but he also missed his penalty. He also missed a penalty against Barca away. Tevez, Rooney and our rock solid defence contributed as well. Not taking away anything from him but the CL success was a UNITED effort. He was brilliant in the Premiership though.Lead to us winning the CL in '08. Yes, i'd say he's a United legend. We've won it a total of mere three times. And he was our best player back then, by a distance.

YupNo, he's a United bellend.
Thats a bit harsh. Im really not his fan boy but it took off around 06 (with him and Wazza almost catching up with Chelsea it wasnt to be that season) and he had three more great seasons in 07 08 and 09 but 08 being his pinnacle. The cnut had 2 great seasons here. Two.
No, I never considered him a legend for this club.
08/09 he spent half the season sulking. Didn't perform close to 06/07 or 07/08.Thats a bit harsh. Well I think he did well despite that but there is no reason to nit pick. Sulking or not08/09 he spent half the season sulking. Didn't perform close to 06/07 or 07/08.
TBF they're probably the two best seasons anyone has had at United. He's not a legend though, not even close. The cnut had 2 great seasons here. Two.

I agree; if he had stayed another couple of seasons instead of going to Spain his myth might have become Legend. He was a great, great asset and player and that can never be denied but he should never have returned as any chance of myth becoming legend has now been lost.More myth than legend.

Hmm, really, as remember us doing 3 back to back title wins starting with a treble without this narcissist wanker.I'm not awfully fond of Ronaldo these days but we won three back to back PL titles and a CL title which we haven't been able to win since he left. I doubt even SAF would have been able to achieve that kind of dominance without Ronaldo.
I agree with what you say. That’s how he’ll be looked at in the future.Coming from someone who really can't stand him pretty much since 2009, I'm afraid the answer is yes. Lenged, icon, United great, you name it...
Yes, he only had 2 incredible seasons with us, and yes he's an enormous legend of the game and Real Madrid... and he's an utter bellend, an egomaniac...
But he was a truly key figure in one of the most successful periods we have ever known, a period that United fans will talk about in the future; So he'll definitely be talked about as well.
He'll never be regarded as Bobby or Best, nor Giggs (definite legend- cnut of a human being) nor Scholes, not Keane and Robson and Eric.
He'll never have That status amongst United fans IMO.
But he'll be spoken about and be regarded in the same "tier" as, say, Schmeichel. Bloody brilliant for the most part, not loved by the entire crowd...
His latest shenanigans will be forgotten much to my disdain, and people will eventually remember him as one of the best players to play in a United shirt, peak-wise. No problem for me if Wes Brown, Denis Irwin or Gary Neville are much bigger legends than he is in United circles, if some would like to define it that way.
But there's no doubt in my mind who'll be talked about more in a couple of decades.
I think if he goes to USA/Italy or wherever, he’d still have his song sung from time to time. And in 5-10 years Reds would still remember him fondly for the many good memories.
However, I have a suspicion he’ll go to Liverpool in January and ensure none of the above happens and there’s no debate

Really!!?!?!???
Never going to happen.
Never in a million years.
Cannot even fathom why you think it will. He is literally the last kind of player that I think Liverpool will sign for a variety of reasons - wage and style mainly
Desperation. They’re having a poor season for their standards and need someone established who will smash a few goals in during the second half of the season
They couldn't accept Mane's wages they aren't going to pay for Ronaldo. Besides he's the most unKlopplike player ever.Really!!?!?!???

This is a good precise. I thought he was actually quite quite against Chelsea in Moscow but without his goals we wouldn't have won the PL that year. Must admit, don't remember the penalty miss against Barca. For me, "legend" means many things - I don't particularly see Giggs as one but I do Beckham (hard to explain other than Becks was United through and through, we've all seen him in his United shirt as a kid at Spurs). People accuse me of being a Ronaldo fan boy, but in the thread about our top 10 players of all time, I actually forgot him in my first two drafts...He had a great season scoring 42. Not diminishing his contribution during “that” successful period (reaching back to back UCL finals, 3 in a row etc) because he was our best player - the team was also set up to get the best out of him. I think we still win the PL because someone like Rooney or Tevez would have stepped up and scored more, instead. See Benzema at Madrid for reference. But it’s a moot point anyway, because Ronaldo’s goals did help us win those trophies. This is a good precise.
